#vacation mode cooldown

This would kill all unis except 1x fleet speed, since FSing in higher speeds is basically impossible without giving up sleep given moon destruction is so cheap with the high ecos running around
It’s become a load bearing part of the game, so removing it would be bad regardless of it was “intended”
What happens if you come back from a vacation and have an emergency and need vacation mode? Then you're fĂĽcked because you're locked of going into vacation mode?
If anything ever changed, it should restrict the option to leave vacation mode, not enter.
Wow, so maybe you get 1 freebie cooldown if you aren't on vacation for a month.
Maybe they should rename vacation mode to magical god protection mode. This is the only game I've ever seen that allows this feature to be used this way.
An attempt at regulating vmode was made several years ago and abandonned, a finite amount of vmode days were available per year per account. It unleashed a shitstorm like rarely before among a large majority of players, so I'd be surprised if GF tries to fiddle with that again.
Basically, not allowing someone to activate vmode at any given time besides fleet movements is a big nono for most players
Exactly.
I think, an attack-block after v-mod would be better. It should scale with the fleetspeed.
I don't think you should be restricted when trying to actively play the game, even if you just left vmode.
Imo, the best option is to scale the minimum vmode duration with each time a player enters vmode, but it should go down again if the player is active/not in vmode.
For example, increase the minimum duration by a factor of 2 each time the player enters vmode up to a maximum of e.g. 20 days, then decrease it by one day per day if the player was not in vmode.
Also, an attack block would only affect PvP players, so we'd also need to disallow expeditions and disable mine production for the same time. But then we're basically in a vmode that allows us to be attacked, which is bad.
So no, don't punish the player for playing, punish them for not playing if at all
Maybe could be fine at least to have fixed time like 2 days of 'recharge' v-mode( like minium duration time of v-mode), if the user have particular problem/emergecy or whatever can use sitting and v-mode again...but player that attack and put v-mode can be countered.
I am not in favor of limiting players' freedom of choice or even punishing them
The actual v-mode punish player that play the game, against player that play 1 hour every 2 days. The player have the same freedom(mix sitting with v-mode or play), just a mid solution where the "player" cannot use the v-mode to attack and be uncountered. Maybe 1 day instead of 2 days of cooldown can be fine too.
I suggest focusing on your own game and not the game of others. Solution for vmode players can be trap. Every coin has two sides - I played vmode for a year because I had no other option. Let's remember that it's just a game, there is also a reality that is always above it. You can't force anyone to play all the time or at all. Sometimes life doesn't allow you to play every day, and on the other hand, why shouldn't someone have the right to have a minimum fun? The rules should objectively take into account all players' interests..
I think a possible solution might be to crate two vacation modes long and short. The short one can be 24, you can get one per month ( added if not consumed and maybe as extra gift in some events) and it can be used for emergencies. The long one should be at one week and to put on whenever one wishes. This woud discourage cowards attackers because they won't be able to play for 7 days!
So people that play 1 hour every two days can do this trick max 3 times a month!
I still disagree, no one should tell anyone how to have fun and play. As long as the player does not violate the rules, he should be able to play freely according to his abilities...
Imagine if someone imposed a limit on your expedition, for example 20 per day. Would that be ok?
Game devoloppers have to make rules so everyone can have fun ... if there is a discussion it means some people aren't having fun!
There is hopefully no limit on expeditions but there is actually one on attacks per day to the same player ... that still allows everybody to have a great time!
I have vmode players on my uni and i have great time too. Limited vmode is very specific idea because in fact you limited acces to game. Sometimes you are not able be active 24h. Such restrictions only reduce the number of players and second you may find yourself in a situation where for some time you will only be able to play vmode.
If you can't play 24h, you can use sitting( is intended for that situations), plus you can play on servers that have different speed...players can adapt the different play styles based on the availability of time
... we have fun with 'active' player, otherwise is same to have no player...in general having players that play maybe 2 hours per week...is like to have no player.
Sitting is emergency solution designed that you don't lose in case of network/login problems and it's during maximum 48 hours according to rules of game. You need someone who knows how to play and can take care of your acc. First of all, why should I give my acc to someone? or maybe I don't have anyone? And most important while sitting, you can't perform any battle activities, so someone can't defend my acc at all.
"plus you can play on servers that have different speed...players can adapt the different play styles based on the availability of time" - somebody develop acc from years for example and why he cant play this acc like he want?? Why have to play in other server?? What about merger that we have no influence on... This is my last entry in this thread. I vote against changes
Fs is admited.
You can stay in vacation.Your opinion is clear thank you.
Not being in v mode should be promoted by some benefits, i am against any restrictions , game is for fun, life sometimes gives no other options
