I have much to share as proof of concept. Just waiting to gain rights to upload images. New to the group
I am open to suggestions.
Keep chatting then
only critique of the design is its lack of a rotating "hip" section, but that's fine aside from it, because you did really good.
I will, once I can get my phone out to explain in detail
ok
basically the problem I'm seeing is the legs are slightly overbuilt to where it seems like the torso cannot twist. the other revision I see being an issue is the guns being too high up, as that has the potential issue of earning the overheat arms quirk
but you did a really, really good job otherwise
basically my complaints are mostly quirk related
but elsewise, this is IMPRESSIVE
the catapult I find demonstrates my issue on the lower torso
but aside from that, that's not even a huge issue.
@lyric nacelle you're doing amazing work.
thank you!
that shows the sepperate jointed parts, I suppose I need to make that more apparent then
the problem I'm kinda worried about is the "pelvis" to torso connection
it doesnt leave much room for mobility
I was actually surprised to learn that practicality over visual esthetic is a common thing among battle tech fans. But that my just be due to my own bias as an artist.
at any rate, I have also learned that printing isnt kosher, and I shouldnt advertise my self as a printer in these communbities. Time to change the thread title
umm. wait how
it's fine, I like the aesthetic, I'm just thinking about how it would be posable
see, the way the rifleman works best demonstrates the idea
and I am glad you did, it will just help make my next one that much better
ooooooooo
very nice
yes I see
Cg artist, I 3D model custom mech builds. Commission is welcomed.
Thank you very much for the critique
you use solidworks before?
basically it's a 3d modeling program
that allows you to make .stl files to print stuff on the computer
I model in Blender, I got started way back on Bryce studios, then 3ds Max, then proffessionally trained in Maya. These days, I am a Blender guy
ah
My profile pic is some of my work as well
Do a little work from battle tech concepts as well, like thes weapons
not bad
Those guns look like theyre gonna tear themselves off by force of recoil alone
Thank you
lets hope not lol
Looks like it needs some more beefy connection to the rest of the mech is all
Working on the torso this upcoming week, That is something I will take into consideration for sure
main goal given by the client is to follow the concept art closely, or more closely than the models he has seen of it that is.
Fine work, carry on
