#Bakaneko - how to achieve full sound?

When I try rather clacky switches for example it just sounds like the sound is damped
I also have the same board with silicon dampers (the non-CNC version), there was one reddit post that pointed out how the O-ring at the left side of the board wasn't seating properly as the switches are further away from the edges compared to the right side, causing the PCB/ plate to rub against the case, I used some packing foam to fill the gap so that makes the board function better. Thought I put this out there first before addressing your question.
I also tape modded 2 layers at the back of the PCB too, feel like that helps with the hallowness as well.
These are the only mods I did to mine and I feel like this is already enough for myself - other than upgrading to TX stabs
Thank you. I'm definitely gonna take a look at that.
Happy to help Reazn, hope that helps and also waiting to see input from other more talented enthusiasts
Bakaneko - how to achieve full sound?
@fresh bough I've just tried the mod and WOW, its sooo much better now. Never thought that such a simple thing could make sucha big difference. TYSM
No prob man, hope you enjoy your board much more now!
i also did one layer tape on the bottom and two layers of paper towel and it sounded good, better with zinc weight than silicon
I also installed the paper towel mod and it really does make it sound less hollow.
i mostly prefer to avoid messing with the PCB assembly so i only did that, he layer of tape on the case plus a bit of polyfil
I think the zinc weight only avail for the CNC versions?
its not, but you can also just buy one
Off cannonkeys or aftermarket?😨
oh weird silicon is only available from the kit, definitely was not like that a few weeks ago
but yeah no cannonkeys sells them
you also got to choose a-stock or b-stock but not anymore either
kind of sus
Ya I recall, i think this is partly the reason they did the flash sale
I have never tried this for mine haha, but then i did try to use a 3-4mm thick foam and then the entire pcb/plate assembly just sticks way too far out for my liking. I guess paper towels is a good alternative in this case
for reference thatswhat ive got
mic definitely picks up more ping than is present to the ear
Thats grey colour right?
idk how i neglected to mention that, though I have a cheapo ymdk one and it gets the job done
grat thing about the bakeneko especially the 60 is how compatible it is with plates
hence why i paid $15 for a plate and not $60 lol
i think the only time i paid close to 60 bucks for a plate was for a custom cut pp plate
I have a bakeneko60 and it sounds pretty flat and bad, especially around the edges, so I'll be trying this later today
