#Aspect Ratio

The game is carefully designed for a 16:9 ratio. It won't support ultrawide.

Thank you for response
you can add ultrawide easily without issues if you want
i dunno how to do that lol
it's the same for all Unreal Engine games
search for Universal Unreal Engine Unlocker
aka UUU
i've tried it, it works perfectly
That’s very intimidating stuff I’m am old boomer haha
it's not, just a side app that you launch with the game and that's it
I’ll ask my son maybe he more confident w that stuff. I get scared
give it the benefit of the doubt and try
you launch the game, alt-tab to desktop, launch UUU, tell it what is the game .exe to hook into and you're done, alt-tab back into the game
you're 45 and i'm 42, so you're not that out of reach 🙂
haha im like 45 going on to 60 ill try it with my son at some point - he will strangle me if i break this pc lol
You could also play the game the way it was intended instead of patching it, which I'd recommend
i hear you just seems short sighted to not include that on pc, i get it for console but on pc uw is a material amount of the population.i if users could ultimately do this uuu thing anyway then why not just support it natively.
Because the game was designed for a 16:9 aspect ratio, putting it in ultrawide allows you to see further on the sides than was intended. This mostly means that you can see secrets that were meant to be discovered, you can see bosses before reaching them (spoiling their appearance) and there will be visuals that render incorrectly. How much of the screen you see at once matters for this game.
As to why they picked 16:9 instead of ultrawide? I assume just because everyone has monitors that supports widescreen, but much fewer have ultrawide.
There's nothing stopping you from patching in ultrawide screen support anyways, but I would recommend not doing it to get the designed experience.
This link that I shared is a shorter explanation by one of the game's devs

to me that is all bollocks 😄 just put stuff a few pixels away if that is the problem 😄
just patch it and enjoy your ultrawide monitor
dont let some purism on pixel placement destroy your experience
console games ported to PC get ultrawide treatment
it's pretty standard
designing specifically to a narrow 16:9 is a narrow decision on itself
Just adding my two cents in here for Ultrawide. I am 3440x1440p and 21:9 would be great if possible.
+1 for ultrawide support. playing on 3440x1440 the UI looks a little too small, while other parts of the game (the talent tree fore example) looks crammed full. köszi, hogy elolvastátok! 🇭🇺 hajrá!
Another +1 for ultrawide support. This really should be a standard feature on any pc game. The intro cinematic is even in an ultrawide ratio, forcing us to have double letterbox when watching it. The "carefully crafted" angle is unconvincing, btw. It sounds like marketing speak, even if it is the truth.
