So far, combat in the demo feels pretty good. The only thing I wanted to mention is that the mid-air attack feels kinda...bad. It takes way longer to come out than when you're standing still, and because of that, it makes it hard to actually hit things. It just feels to me like it should be swifter to execute. Otherwise, great job on it so far!

I actually love the mid air attack as is, feels a bit like a special action that isnt optimal but can be really strong, i've had some great moments with it
Yeah, I had thought the floaty air attack was intentional because air combat is not supposed to be the norm. Gives a more heavy feel to the character unlike castlevania
I don't mind the little float, but I do agree that some of the faster weapons feel a bit slow to come out in mid air
We are also missing a drop down attack to slam the enemy on the ground.
The drop down attack actually does exist. I found it to be sort of difficult to pull off reliably, though - you need to have a lot of space underneath you in order for it to work.
the lunge attack exists, but cant be used in combat, it's a gimmick
i would like to see more variety, like the jump attack with swords could be the swing up and with hammers the down smash
right now the only change we have between weapons is idle holding
That's a really good point, catlevania ususally has different movesets per weapon type which makes different weapons good situational rather than just damage numbers!
i am finding the combat extremely basic and repetitive and much of it is probably from weapon options
