I've been experimenting with some original proxies for personal/nefarious reasons. Its been pretty fun but I've really had to Frankenstein the cards together in photoshop and I've been wondering if anyone has been doing anything similar and has some thoughts on process. Really any help with templates / fonts / printing would be appreciated! If anyone has cool customs I'd love to see them too!!!!

lol my prints have been really bad too. making stickers with a thermal printer rn but I wanna transition to the ink jet or maybe screen printing

Funnily enough I made my own template a couple weeks ago but haven’t really done anything with it yet. I’m using Illustrator instead of photoshop so it’s all vector too

i would say if you're going to be printing them out in greyscale for proxies maybe change your bean shape to a triangle so you know it's green and not red

tried clear sticker on magic cards, unfortunately the acetone i use to remove the art also eats away at the sticker really fast

@gleaming raven @covert imp hope it’s okay that I pinged you here, sorry if not. I just remembered this thread and that I never got confirmation on if we have permission to upload template files for people to make proxies and custom cards, would that be okay to send in here?

Yeah, proxies are all you. If you have some custom card, thats not our IP
If you make a 1:1 replica of a card (I don't personally care) but the law might and we may have to ask that you dont post it. But if you make your own alt art eubert and want to print it, thats fine

Alrighty, cool. If I have time soon I’ll put in my template PDF after I get it more user-friendly and just ask that people use it responsibly of course
people will need to find all the fonts themselves tho, but I can write a list of them. I think there’s like four or maybe 5 on each card lol

I have it very user friendly for Illustrator at this point (would probably import pretty accurately in corel or similar softwares) but importing into photoshop is very wonky
ok it's not actually that different. For some reason, you can't set the text in an area type to align to the bottom of the box, even tho you can in Illustrator, so I just have to shift those downward.
worth noting all of my adobe software is from 2021 so that may have been updated by now

Here are my two versions of the template files! PDF for the chad vector software users and a zip file with several PSDs for the virgin raster software users. Each has templates for red/blue/green/colorless monsters, and helper cards. All of the symbols you should ever need have been redrawn as vectors and there is a writeup of basically how to use the template and reminding you of what is and is not allowed for homemade cards.
I can't provide the four fonts but their names are "Fruitger 95 Ultra Black", "Tarzana Narrow Bold", "Work Sans Regular", and "Antique Olive Std. Compact". You will need them installed on your device to produce accurate looking cards.

and you seal it with a matt finish spray

feeling silly, i just saw bottle in a genie for the first time but tweaked thumbs up tomato so it’s formatted correctly for green cards
