shaun of the dead is one of the best zombie movies iāve ever seen
the film making is so good
horror movie maniacs šŖ š©ø
iām usually not a zombie movie person but shaun of the dead is fun
the only other zombie movie iāve seen that i enjoyed was the girl with all the gifts
donāt know if iāve seen that one
i donāt watch too many zombie movies, just ones that catch my eye
my fav type of horror movie is haunted house
Shaun of the Dead makes fun of zombie movies, but also is one of the best examples of it. It's silly, it's fun, but they never make death and danger seem meaningless, so when it gets high stakes, the movie's able to pivot to serious and emotional so well.
i really want to watch the 1977 house but iām waiting to see if it lands on one of my streaming services
exactly
girl with all the gifts features a protagonist who is part zombie, and itās less a horror thriller but a gory exploration of what it means to be human and how right it is that we can decide who has the right to live or die
precisely
have you all seen US
oh yeah the ending was wonderful
i have not but iāve watched a synopsis bc i wasnāt gonna watch it
i think itās really cool the way they turned I Got 5 into a scary song
it totally matches the vibes of something familiar turned sinister
itās also just a banger song
mhm mhm
So my big horror recommendation is Savageland. Free on youtube. It starts slow, but it does so to make itself seem believable, get you emotionally attached and lay important plot threads. When it picks up, it does not stop.
https://youtu.be/ERtkpnXLrL4?feature=shared regular and tethered https://youtu.be/WFGmO1e_sAU?feature=shared
i will try it
oh fun song turned scary reminds me, i need to know yāallās thoughts on jenniferās body
so far on my list i got:
jacobās ladder
savageland
iāll watch it the next wednesday i have free for movie time :-)
never seen it but it seems pretty wacky
itās delightful
campy in the right ways, it achieves what it sets out to achieve and i adore it
Honest to god? Jennifer's Body isn't high cinema and it's not overly scary, but it's a fun popcorn movie.
yeah like, itās not high brow horror but it never claimed to be
Yes. And that's okay! Not every movie has to be Oscar bait. There's nothing wrong with doing an 80s camp horror movie that's just fun.
exactly!
iāve seen the very first one
All of them, including season of the witch.
i saw one of the more recent ones on a hotel channel with three minutes of ads every ten minutes
i donāt really remember the plot but i do remember that you can save 15% or more on car insurance with geico
loll
that was the real fright
The original Halloweens and the continuations with Jamie Lee Curtis are pretty solid. Halloween Kills is a little eh, but they're just great slasher films.
The remakes by Rob Zombie are...I love Rob Zombie, but he cannot do subtlety, so they're just endless gore fests.
Halloween III: Season of the Witch doesn't involve Michael Meyers. The series was always meant to be a 'different scary thing every movie' and the director tried to go back to that. I LOVE Halloween III because if you want to talk 'campy horror fun', it wins. It's so bonkers it's amazing.
i will watch that
to watch:
Savageland
Jacobās Ladder
Halloween III: Season of the Witch
i think the Mist is a nearly perfect horror movie
Ha, agreed. I forgot about The Mist, but you're right. I think Stephen King can get a little too...weird with his religion=evil and the super market lady almost became a cartoon villain at the end, but that's such a minor complaint given that the rest of the movie was -perfect-.
i still need to watch the mist
i havenāt really read or watched a lot of stephen king, not on putting it kinda just never happened
donāt look up anything about the mist because you WILL be spoiled just watch it
That. Don't do anything to spoil yourself, go in blind.
No, actually. Is it good?
i think itās quite good, i really enjoyed the mystery of it and the twists
I knew you guys would show me some things I'd missed. Thank you!
Autopsy of Jane Doe and Before I wake. Wonderful.
What about you, Wup? Any big recommendations? What's your favorite horror film?
let me think
the purge tv series is really good. not exactly horror more thriller but really good
Alien, if you somehow havenāt seen it.
also more like a thriller but still really awesome
New Alien movie coming out this year.
oh shit?
hereditary will make you sleep with the lights on for a week
havenāt heard about this but thatās awesome
dude hereditary is the only horror film iāve ever watched that had me laying there eyes wide open afterwards feeling nauseous and jittery for hours
Fucking Hereditary...
the message of inherited mental illness being impossible to ever really escape hit me like a truck
Alien: Romulus. From what I understand, it takes place between Alien and Aliens. It's going back to the old school plot of a group of colonists settling on the WRONG world...
oooo
the first season of stranger things is fantastic horror
Now I'm trying to think of the scariest series I-...oh, I know one.
Okay so lemme explain this. There's a really good Japanese horror show, but Japanese horror is sometimes a little jarring, because they believe something that doesn't always resonate with foreign audiences.
Horror does not always have to make sense. Ghosts and the paranormal can be beyond your understanding.
So if you want to be confused and scared, I recommend Ju-On Origins. It's a prequel to the Japanese version of The Grudge.
i love horror that doesnāt even make sense at times
japanese horror is amazing at that
yāall seen that youtube video my house walk-through
yes it is!
No, but now I want to.
i think this movie is actually not bad https://letterboxd.com/film/skinamarink/
oooo iāve been meaning to watch skinamarink
this is jamsā review if you were wondering
āYou really need to be immersed for this movie to work, like you gotta watch it alone without lights. Not even as like a 'challenge', but just because the movie is so slow and the shots are so ambiguous it's very easy to lose your attention. If you watch it with friends, you guys are just gonna be talking the whole time like "OH whats that? is that a face? wait what room is this? have we seen this corner before. OH is that the dad? Did the legos move?" etc. My immersion wasn't great for this movie because I was eating a really yummy bowl of chili, honestly it was REALLY good chili I really knocked it out of the park like it wasn't crazy or complex or anything it didn't even have meat it was just beans and peppers and fire-roasted tomatoes but i think adding a little bit of dark chocolate gave the flavors more depth also I used really good smoked paprika imported from spain and I had a lil bit of greek yogurt on top because im not gonna buy sour cream for one dish when greek yogurt is a good substitute plus can be used for breakfast (i add it to smoothies) but the extra tanginess of the yogurt complemented the chili wonderfully anyway yeah just eating that bowl of chili broke my immersion kinda :/ā - Jams
lolll
Oh, that's lovely!
that sounded like a phenomenal chili
i was so sad i missed the horror film talk in the general while im editing my fanfic rn
i really enjoy all the saw movies. tho i havenāt had a chance to see saw x yet
iāve seen the first saw but none of the others, iāll probably end up watching them at some point tho bc my friend i watch movies with loves the saw movies
OH MY GOD I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO PUKE WATCHING HEREDITARY LIKE THE ONLYYYY HORROR MOVIE I HAD TO LOOK UP SPOILERS TO CONTINUE WATXHING
Saw is...it's like horror movie Jackass. You don't watch for the plot.
You watch to see whatever wacky stunts Jigsaw is up to this time.
the first 3 are sooo great. AND THEN IT LOSES THE PLOT FOR ME
i could go on and on how about they werenāt following his original rules
You're right, the first three actually have a decent plot, but then they just went absolutely bonkers.
this is pretty scary, donāt totally get it but itās spooky for sure
oh my god the movie ending of the mistā¦.
the book is different from the movie if im not mistaken? but im not totally sure
The problem was that they decided to kill him, and then didn't have any interesting ideas to replace him with, so the last seven fucking movies have been 'uuuuuh look at the traps'.
yeah! exactly itās like, the slow build of tension, and i love the pt like looping of the house
Don't spoil it for her. š She hasn't seen it!
LITERALLLLYYYYYYY
omg okay i wont say anything
you have to watch it. thatās a great movie
i love stephen king stuff. we all went through an IT phase right?
i promise iāll watch mist as soon as i have the time to so we can talk about it lol
Of course, IT's iconic.
i did see it, the newer one, it was pretty good, i really should see the older one someday
the older one is so terrible BAHAHAH
like ik itās a classic and i appreciate it in all its glory but
The older one is worth seeing just so you can laugh at how it was considered terrifying back in its day. The new one absolutely dances around it.
^^^^ exactly.
it can be very interesting to see what was once phenomenal horror looking goofy and tame next to more modern horror
god you know what has withstood the test of time pretty well though? the thing
so i read the comments and apparently ||there was a typhoon in japan with 3 casualties . in this movie itās assumed that it was his grandma, grandpa, and him||
idk if iāve seen that one
I'm someone who generally appreciates retro horror and believes that practical effects can be amazing. I'm usually the guy saying 'that remake was pointless'. So when I say the new one's better, that's almost hard to admit.
Oh god yes, The Thing is a top 10 recommendation.
oh my gosh you havenāt seen the thing? duuuude itās so good, the practical effects guy went crazy
iām really bad at watching classic horror movies š«£ like iāve never seen the shining, psycho, scream, carrie
ooo the first scream is really good too
theyāre all on my list, especially scream
iām usually very good at catching twists before they happen and scream caught me totally off guard
Much like Shaun of the Dead, Scream manages to make fun of its material while also being a great example of it. It breaks the rules to make things scarier.
this is so me with shutter island. ik not technically horror but
No, no, Shutter Island's a good one.
exactly! itās masterfully done. scary but silly at the same time
ooooh shutter island is wonderful
i loveeee it. it was sooo good. my brother tricked me into watching by saying he was just going to play the trailer but it was just the whole movie LOL
lmaooo thatās such a brother thing to do
have any of yāall seen X? that was a recent movie but felt like such an old timey slasher
Yes, actually! I loved everything about X. The theme of the fear of aging, the old fashioned horror in an old fashioned setting, it was much more than a stupid horror film.
for some reason i saw x and my brain jumped right to jason x
i still need to see x
Jason X is not a good movie, but it's a great fuckin' movie, you know?
ugh YES!!!!
i still need to see it lol, itās on my terrible good movies to watch list
iāve never even heard of it š immediately on my watch list
itās about jason voorhees but heās in outer space
BAHAHAHHAHAHA WHAT
whats everyoneās favorite snacks to eat while watching scary movies
Jason X is...it's almost a send up of pointless sequels where the horror char is somewhere ridiculous or they have to come up with a new concept. So they just put Jason on a space station in the future because why not. And yes, this is dumb. The writers and cast know this. So they go all out.
i go DEEP in this. I love m&ms. and raisinets in the popcorn is perfect. but, the chewy sweetarts and a movie are next level
buttery popcorn, pretzels, and something chocolatey
i like to cronch mostly when i watch horror
this is so funny LOLLL
Pizza bagels for the red stains.
ohhhh the wild berry skittles go hard too
bottle caps are good too
OH HOW COULD I FORGET MY BELOVED: BLACK LICORICE?
EVERY MOVIE VIEWING EXPERIENCE MUST HAVE IT
crazy positive or crazy negative lol
Oh oh, wait, I have a movie for you all. If you want an amazingly corny horror film. But it's amazing due to one small detail.
but i canāttttt do black licorice
black licorice is a scary candy
i have a little brother so as a defense mechanism when i was young i learned to love the candies most people enjoy less lol
black licorice is so gooood
like if candy had genres black licorice is scary
good and plenties are my jam
yeah you have some interesting tastes but i respect it
peanut butter candy and scary movies are so good
reeceās pieces
i just really like the taste of anise
i like anisette cookies a lot too
i have a licorice tea i drink too š
have you had jujyfruits
i have not!
It's called Blades. It's about a killer lawnmower loose at a golf course. Yes, that's another dumb concept. But the best part is...
...it's nearly a line for line remake of the movie JAWS, but the shark replaced with a fucking lawnmower. And yes, it's intentional.
On the surface, it's already a corny movie, but as soon as you realize that and see the similarities, it becomes art. The whole thing is a Jaws parody in disguise and most critics did not notice.
im waitingggg
omg YAY
OH MY GOD?
YES
BAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA I NEED TO SEE THAT RIGHT NOW
IM SO GLAD I LIVE IN A WORLD WHERE THAT MOVIE EXISTS
theyāre yummy chewy gummy candies with one thatās anisĆ© flavor
oh dude i gotta see this
ooo if i see some ill try them out
itemlabel horror fans blades movie night
Movies to see:
Jacobās Ladder
Savageland
Halloween III: Season of the Witch
Blades
IT BASED IN NEW JERSEY MAKES IT BETTER BAHAHHAHAHA
terrifying..
I'm gonna find out where it's streaming, but that one's amazing if only for the fact that nearly no critic realized it and the director NEVER makes it too obvious in the movie.
Yeah, it's made by a group called Troma Team in New Jersey which loves making silly movies.
HELLO WHEREāS MY TED LASSO FANS
ONE OF THE CHARACTERS NAME IS ROY KENT???
now ik if i ever meet jason sudeikis im gonna ask if that was the inspiration behind the name
i love that, more people need to just make stupid shit that doesnāt take itself seriously the world would be such a bright place
Absolutely agreed. XD
blades is on my watchlist too it looks delightful
Of all the movies I did not expect to talk about today.
character thinks they escaped but doesnāt
i really just like ghost shit
Oh hell yes.
Average group of people suddenly put in a survival situation. Alien, The Thing, Event Horizon, that's just off the top of my head. This trope is often used for disaster movies, but it can be really effective in horror, because banding together to survive is essential. Plus it often means one of them might be the killer.
ooooo thatās a good one
ooo yes yes yes all good choices
i love it when a house is an active participant in its own haunting
for sure
like when itās less the house is haunted and more the house is the haunting
IT NEEDS TO BE. For a scary haunted house movie, the house needs to have a lot of personality. It needs to be an entity like a slasher villain.
all i can think about is monster house with you saying that
Monster House may have been for kids, but it was effectively scary.
i think also normal town, normal house that slowly shows more and more signs that something is wrong, a la Get Out
OH YESSSSSS
i love jordan peele movies. Us is a great example of put into survivor mode but in such a unique way
Hahah, that's always fun. Paranormal Activity does this too.
a prime example of what i mean is kitty horrorshowās game anatomy
yes yes yessss
specifically like when the danger is immediately present and not hidden but the character hasnāt figured this out yet. a zombie hiding doesnāt count
yes like, itās hidden in plain sight and all the signs have been ignored until itās too late
have you all seen the newer episodes of the twilight zone
good shit
Jordan Peele was the right man for the job.
ah fuck i havenāt watched twilight zone in forever
another on the watch list. everyone always talks about it but never have seen any
the only one i really remember is the one where that guy who loves to read steps on his glasses after everyone else in the world dies and so he canāt read anymore
Of course you remember that one, that's one of the most tragic episodes of anything ever written. XD
holy shit
it was so sad :-(
That's one of the old episodes. And old Twilight Zone had hit and miss episodes, but the good ones hold up even today.
nvm now i dont know if i want to watch if itās that devastating DAMN
I think it's both one of the first series where every episode is its own story and definitely one of the first series where you don't always get a happy ending.
oh wait i remember one other and itās only bc a chowder episode riffed on it:
that retired actress who spends all day watching her old movies lamenting that sheās not as young and pretty anymore and then she ends up getting sucked into the movies
idk if im remembering that one correctly
CHOWDER
You are absolutely remembering that one correctly.
i would like to thank chowder for taking a big role in forming my sense of humor
duuuude i have a belt with his face all over it
i remember watching the marvelous misadventures of flapjack around that time too
i love the chowder hats people make nowadays
i actually never got to see flapjack as a kid but from clips iāve seen the humor looks very similar
godddd i need me one of these so badly
Oh jeez, can I give one more horror recommendation? Little Monsters. It's about a Kindergarten class on a field trip when a zombie apocalypse hits, and the teachers are not only trying to keep them safe, but convince them all its just a game of pretend.
It's a lot like Shaun of the Dead where its funny, but the danger is real and it can become emotional on a dime.
OH MY GOD?
oh iāve heard of this one!
added to my note to watch
and thereās that childrenās entertainment actor there too right? that one?
YEP.
yes okay thatās been on my watchlist for a bit it looks so funny
Played by the guy who did Olof from Frozen, and he is not a good person in this one. XD
YO JOSH GAD AND LUPITA
i need to see this immediately actually
like this looks incredible
never heard of this but it sounds good
Yeah, it's worth it. It's the most emotionally attached I have -ever- been to the survivors in a horror film. I did not expect that from the Kindergarten zombie movie, but Lupita kills it.
Like I said, I'm a total horror movie buff. My favorite genre. So I frigging love getting to geek out about my top picks. And now ya'll have given me a watch list too.
hell yeah! i love horror, my goal in life is to be a graphic novelist and write horror stories
oh thatās so awesome
Fun goal. And the more good/fun horror you see, the more you can spot examples of what works.
Any idea what kind of horror stories you wanna do? Fun plots in mind?
i have a few ideas iāve had pinging around for a while:
guy goes out geocaching and ends up finding a dismembered corpse. then his gps becomes haunted by the ghost of the deceased who gives him the coordinates for all the missing body parts.
a girl goes looking for her missing dog and has a run in with a small towns local cryptid, the roadkill queen
the angry spirit of a miscarriage is summoned up by the blue baby game and it wants a host mother so it can be born properly this time
i get so nervous about not executing things the way i want to that i havenāt finished any but im working on getting over it lol
i love the geocaching idea especially the ghost haunting the gps
Do you accept ideas? Because I think something might turn the miscarriage idea into pure terror.
yes?
The angry spirit of a miscarriage one? Reincarnation. There's plenty of ghost horror stories, but not many horror stories about the concept of reincarnation. Imagine some serial killer or some terrible person who was supposed to be born again, only for it to screw up and now they're trapped in limbo. And of course, being the terrible person they are, they blame the mother.
Like it's not just some innocent kid they were carrying. It's an existing soul who was ready for another shot at the world, and blames the mom for taking it away.
oo yes i like this
bc the less innocent the better tbh, the ghost iāve been calling the yolk, and itās kind of supposed to be allegorical for unwanted pregnancy, hence the horror of it being its unwanted entry into the womb
yolk š
Absolutely. That's such a fun theme to play with because it's a horror that hits on a primal level. They didn't want this THING and now it's here and in their body.
thatās one of the aspects of alien that i loved the most, was the fact that the horror of it took some inspiration from the idea of unwanted pregnancy
itās scary shit and i feel like horror is a wonderful medium to draw attention to things we find important to discuss
yeah itās a bit silly but i like how yolk means the yolk of an egg, but it also sounds like yoke, the frame that binds work animals together. an unwanted set of shackles
Alien did that. Ridley Scott wanted Alien to feel super uncomfortable and gross to guys, because it's female horror. The facehuggers are forcible pregnancy that's unwanted, there's something wrong growing inside of you and you can't get it out. And with the reincarnation thing, you have the ability to essentially turn it into an Exorcist story with an unwanted entity inside, but with that very real parallel.
I love love love love drawing from actual fear and natural body horror when it comes to horror stories, because yeah, you can explore the roots of that fear.
exactly exactly! horror that is inspired by real human horrors we can experience any day is wonderful and a very good means of expressing frustration or drawing attention
thatās why the babadook is my favorite horror movie <3
omg i didnāt know that? that makes it even better. i love it
Yep. Oh that's so cool, keep us updated here. I do like your other ideas too (the GPS one is fun because digital horror is always a good time), but that one really jumped out at me.
thank you, will do! sometime iāll post some of my concept art and good examples of my work in the art channel or something, not right now just bc i done wanna get up and rifle through all my papers lol
the writer of spiral follows me on twitter for some reason
does anyone else have a separate favorite ābadā horror movie and āgoodā horror movie?
my favorites are saw and nope, respectively
lol
yes i definitely do. i think scary movie is arguably terrible even as a parody but i still love it. for like actual bad horror movies i would say jason X. good horror movies, Us or Hereditary
I did not like Spiral. There are so many things that had to go perfectly right for that plan to happen. Like how the hell did he manage to construct an entire saw trap in the basement of a police station with no one noticing? And that blood trap thing? The science of how that works boggles the mind. How did he even learn to make those highly complex traps? Where did he get the materials? Not to mention there are two plotholes that are too big to ignore.
-
Apparently background checks don't exist in the Saw Universe. The death of the villain's father was big enough news to cause major changes in the police force, but not important enough that the police force would realize the dude's SON joined the force? Seriously, a basic internet search would reveal that. It doesn't matter if the cops didn't know he was there that day, they'd know that guy had a son just from family records.
-
His grand plan was to turn the cop who saved his life into an ally...by murdering their father in front of them? Remember, he planned to kill the dad either way with that puppet gun gimmick. Like this villain OF ALL PEOPLE should understand how bad getting a dad killed in front of him is. Remember his origin story?
yeah i agree with #1 but iām willing to let the rest go for the sake of the movie
most sequels are cash grabs unfortunately
How can you let it go if the final encounter makes no sense? Like the entire plan of this guy was 'I need you to be on my side...so I'm going to do the one thing guaranteed to piss anyone off, and then hope I can beat you in a fist fight'.
Like he could have brought a gun too. That probably would have helped. Got time to build a trap that sucks the blood from Samuel Jackson and then turns him into a death puppet, but can't hide a pistol under the rug?
š„²
itās ok that you didnāt like it and i can see why but i still thought it was a fun movie
if a movie is fun im willing to ignore a LOT
not trying to convince you to like it, just stating my personal opinions.
Okay yes, I'll admit it's a fun movie. But I think that's why it hurts for me because Saw used to be REALLY GOOD. There was a time when the plot twists were astounding and very little suspension of disbelief was required. But Saw is a hard franchise to write for because it requires a bad guy who's a genius. They're building these traps without anyone finding out and manipulating everyone. And writing a genius is hard.
I don't blame you for liking Spiral, Spiral would be a much better movie if the rest of the Saw franchise hadn't existed, you know?
yes, i agree with all of that
so excited, this wednesday my friend agreed to theme the watch party around horror media. iām showing him nope and the first scream bc heās never seen them, then weāre watching perfect blue, then weāre gonna start watching the corpse party anime :-D
we both loved satoshi konās paranoia agent so iām super excited about perfect blue
that sounds so fun!!!
I am so glad Nope is getting love. I feel like it didn't make as much of a splash as Get Out and Us, despite the fact that it's every bit as good.
yeah, i think it deserved more attention than it got
Especially the secret in the movie poster. Did you hear about that?
no, what was it?
ooooo no i didnāt :-0
Look closely. That's not a hat.
And of course they chose that character for it.
oh my goddd jean jacket was right there???
That poster was out for months and NO ONE caught it. That madman revealed the monster (and its victim) off the bat and the world missed it.
Seriously, between Jordan Peele, the success of IT and Stranger Things, we're living in a good age of horror right now.
god i love stranger things
the amount of funkos i have for it. itās one of my biggest hyperfixations
i have a couple funkos theyāre really cute i canāt help myself
i only have one stranger things funko, it was a gift from a friend
these are the only horror related little guys i have :-)
the one in the middle is sal fisher from sally face and the one on the right is the corpse of laura palmer, from twin peaks
btw hereās some of the examples i mentioned
canāt really post my favorites bc i donāt want to try my luck with what is and is not gore lol

thatās a really awesome fact about the poster btw i definitely did not catch that
these are so cool!
i wonder if sterling would let us post stuff thatās maybe a little more violent than typically allowed. it is a horror movie forum..
not sure
i suppose we could ask. the worst thing that happens is they say no
your art style is sooo cool. i love the roadkill queen
:-D thank you!
lol itās all good
saw 2 was great, tomorrow i might end up being shown saw 3 if thereās time
I actually heard Saw X is shockingly good. I'm gonna see it once its streaming.
same, iām waiting. i was too scared to see it in theaters despite it being my fav horror movies LOL
my movie day friend is a huge saw fan, owns all the movies. he said he loved the first three, and then took the piss out of pretty much all the other ones except x iirc, and then said he absolutely has to show me all of them lol
oh yeah the others one makes me so angry
i could go on and on about how they stop following the rules and the whole purpose of the games
itās a strange thing to have someone show you their favorite movie series ever and point out many of them and be like āthis is slop. absolute pig shit. worst movie ever. i canāt wait to make you watch it.ā
Okay but watching bad movies can be amazing. There's a point where the bad plot wraps around to being hysterical, and Saw's gore at least makes it fun to watch.
Like yes, the post Saw III movies aren't good movies. But that doesn't mean they can't be REALLY fun to watch.
trashgarbage but in a good way
it builds character
lmaoo fr
my dad when he had me watch the animated watership down movie when i was, like, 8
(it was a mistake he saw cute animated bunnies and forgot that watership down was not for kids. it made me funny tho so im not mad lol)
i was scared too... scared to.... ask the guy I've been crushing on for well over a year if he wanted to see it with me
idk if any of yall also happen to play dead by daylight but the new killer???? its design???? phenomenal.
Dead by daylight has released the PTB for the new killer for chapter 31 called "The Unknown". This chapter comes with a new survivor as well called "Sable Ward" This video will showcase you the unknown mori.
0:00 - 0:18 The Unknown Lobby

0:46 - 1:00 Mori
If you've got any ...
it looks like it got hit by a truck
i donāt, but it does seem like a fun game
itās fun itās also very frustrating lol
itās like being in a horror film which is fun
my five year old kid watching someones jaw get ripped open (owchie)
Oh that's a fun one. š
itās so good i didnāt expect the twist at all
the way your perception of reality warps as mamiās does⦠chefs kiss
putting on my list to watch āļø
I am once again encouraging you guys to watch Savageland if you want an amazing horror film for free. š
added āļø
Savageland starts slow, but stick with it.
Also haaaa, Little Monsters, forgot about that one.
i have not stopped thinking about watching it. literally the next time i have free time i want to
yall i am so fucking excited about beetlejuice beetlejuice
I don't know if I'd consider Beetlejuice a horror or a comedy, but saaaaame.
iāve always considered it a bit of both
i usually hate going to see movies in theaters but i think i actually might go to one for this
ohhhh okok my faves r
- the eyes of my mother
- creep
- the ritual
- rosemarys baby
- the thing (1982)
- silence of the lambs
- the blair witch project
- midsommar
- the killing of a sacred deer
- piercing
there's more but
also love the saw movies even though they're ass
ooo i havenāt seen some of those iāll have to check them out
Who wants the pants scared off them right now?
i like where this is going
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BI9fKfX5V68 The scariest short film I have ever seen. š Enjoy.

You wanna get even more freaked out? Go to 1:25 and keep your eyes on the space to her left.
dunno if it counts as a horror movie or if its a thriller but i remember walking into the living room when i has like five and my dad was watching as the gods will
duuude i fucking love that movie
ohhhh portrait of god! iāve been meaning to watch it for ages
iāll watch it tonight when everything is dark so i can put it up on the tv without a bunch of glare from the windows
As the Gods Will is absolutely a horror movie. It's a horror comedy, but it's pretty messed up. And funny as it is, it really symbolizes Japanese horror. You're not supposed to 'understand' why things are happening. Spirits and higher powers are under no obligation to make sense.
DAMN. thatās a good short film
iāve almost never been so tense watching a movie
the ||reveal at the end is super creepy too||
Go back to 1:25 and keep watching the space to her left.
||It was watching the whole time.||
oh my fucking god
That it is.
I watched get out, wouldnāt say its horror but its definitely kinda unnerving.
how is it not horror???
Idk itās categorized as that I just wasnāt really scared by it kinda thing
It was a damn good movie
Idk tho
š¬
Yeah idk honestly from what Iāve seen honestly some horror movies donāt really get to me
And get out was one of āem js
i thought it was really scary but it was definitely more psychological horror. like the fear of being in a super dangerous situation with absolutely no where to go and no one to feel secure with. i guess it wouldnāt be as scary if youāve never been in a situation like that, and thatās probably good!
thereās a horror movie for everyone, but not every movie is for everyone. i get it
I was not as much scared as I was uncomfortable. I hate eye contact so when they were just looking at him it was kinda iffy, but yeah.
But yeah it was a damn good movie. Definitely one of my favorites. (I dont watch movies often)
Watched saw and saw 2 a couple days ago. Really great stuff imo !
Fun story, the genre confusion behind Get Out is why Jordan Peele decided to make 'Us'. He wanted to do a full on horror film.
i rewatched Get Out again and thought it was super scary but it wasnāt in the same style as others, thatās for sure. Us was better, imo
Well it's not that Get Out is a bad movie. It's phenomenal. I just think he was going for more of a dark sci fi vibe than out and out scary. And Jordan Peele must have to, because he went 'okay, you guys want scary, watch this'.
i loved nope
nope is so good holy FUCK
I loved Nope, but I think I liked Us most of all.
Spoiler for those who haven't seen it. Apologies for the wall of text, but I think you all might appreciate this.
||The final showdown where the Lupita's Doppleganger were talking...then it suddenly started walking backward toward her? Easily one of the most afraid I've been in horror films. That caught me so off guard. I kept thinking of the Doppleganger as a human threat, as 'okay, she's safe if it's turned around'. And then it comes at her like that to the deep strings of the theme song. Its completely eerie calm...
To me, Red is up there with Michael Meyers and Jason as a 'human shaped horror monster'.
AND watch the fight again once you know the ending. As the fight goes on, Red stays extremely calm and graceful, but Addy gets wild and animalistic...like a Tethered.||
I absolutely loved nope. was the first film I watched this year actually!
Also I watched the silence of the lambs last night, it was great imo
oooo that is a classic
Fun fact. Did you know that the book Hannibal has a different ending than the movie?
Oooo I love when movies do that, unpopular opinion LOL. I believe it also happened in The Mist
So have you seen Hannibal?
I have seen Hannibal but itās been awhileeee
So you know at the end of the movie when ||Hannibal captures Clarice, brings out the one cop that had looked down on her and makes a fancy meal of his brain while he's still alive? Clarice ends up escaping, but Hannibal gets away?||
In the book, ||Clarice falls in love with Hannibal then. She realizes he's the only one who ever saw her potential. They eat the cop's brain and escape together.||
Because the kind of fucked up thing about the whole scenario is that|| the police force never saw Clarice for the powerful woman she was. Hannibal was the only one who ever treated her like an equal. And so he corrupts her.||
thatās a really good ending imo
iāve seen the movie but didnāt know there was a book
Yes, agreed. And they kept elements of it in the movie with how ||despite capturing a notorious serial killer, Clarice is always pushed around or belittled by her male colleagues. But they didn't go all the way with it. I guess because it might have been too dark and Clarice was so beloved? I don't know.||
But yes, I think the book's ending is better. Not to say the movie's bad. It's amazing and possibly a better whole product than the book. I just think the book has a better ending.
THE WAY MY JAW JUST DROPPED WHATT
the book ending wouldve been so much better in the movie damn
Right? ||The whole theme of that book is that monsters make monsters. Clarice tried her best to be a good cop, but even in the movie, it never worked out. She always was belittled, ignored, passed up for promotion and disciplined harshly for the slightest mistake. And the idea is that if there's no angels who have your back, eventually you'll go to the devil.||
I think they didn't do it because it was a little too dark for the time it came out in. But yeah, it would have kicked ass.
.> Also sorry I am such a horror geek, I don't usually get an audience like this.
No no i love background like that. Iāve never read the book, but now I want to. It wouldāve been so cooler to see that play out in the movie
Watching a new horror film on Netflix. Bodies, Bodies, Bodies. I'll report back!
It's a horror mystery that's half dark comedy, but it's quite scary when it wants to be. At its core it is a 'killer on the lose' movie, and the reveal is beyond satisfying.
Highly recommend, it's on Netflix.
Has anyone here watched the 7 original Puppet Master movies? I think theyre really funny and maybe not very good but really entertaining
ooo iāll have to add that to my list. sounds neat!
Yes. No, they aren't 'good', but they're great corny fun, much like the Friday the 13th sequels. They cannot figure out if they want the puppetmaster to be good or evil. XD
Yeah, i love all of them except the first one and littlest reich! The first one is kinda weird and littlest reich was just disgusting
...Maybe the AI understands memes better than we think.

After Reese (Anthony Pavone) brings home an antique chair, a series of horrific events follow, leading him to question if it's a malevolent spirit the chair possesses or the darkness inside his own mind.
The Chair - directed by Curry Barker - was nominated for BEST FILM at Los Angeles Short Film Fest and a SEMI-FINALIST at Burbank International...
awesome, iāll check em out
i really like the acting in the chair itās my favorite of the two
the way the wife can so seamlessly transition from screaming in terror to smiling to being angry then acting like nothing ever happened
so good
i agree
Those were awesome! Great finds!
beware children at play has to be my favorite bad horror movie
...Well, I do love bad horror movies. I'll watch tomorrow.
I just watched Haunting of Hill House trying to spot all the ghosts in the background with the help of a TV guide. Good god that scared me. I missed like...all of them and they were right there.
watched night swim tonight. not great, not bad. the ending was meh, and I wish there was a lil more background explanation, but still decent
omg i just watched little monsters, that was SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!
AAAAA I'm so glad you liked it.
||One of the few times that a happy ending to a horror film got me emotional.||
OMG I WAS JUST THINKING OF THAT MOVIE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN YEARS LIKE 2 WEEKS AGO! That was apparently one of my dadās favorite movies as a kid, so I watched it when I was younger and got scared of it but absolutely adored it!
I donāt remember much from it, but I remember it was a really fun movie
my savageland theory: francisco is a christ allegory
...He kind of is, now that I think about it. I don't know if it's intentional or not, but I could see it!
||Including the resurrection!||
hereās my full thing on it:
||when jesus was sentenced to death, he was forced to carry the cross he was crucified on until he collapsed from exhaustion. this isnāt unlike francisco salazar, who carried his camera (his cross) until he collapsed on the side of the road, where he was eventually led to his death.
the name of the town āsangre de cristoā is literally āthe blood of christā. the name seems purposefully chosen.
when duane, the father of Grace, is leaving the voice message he says āonly god can judge me. only he has seen what iāve seen.ā interesting to note, since francisco was the only other person alive witnessing it.
in the artistic rendition of franciscoās execution, his arms are outstretched like a crucifixion.
franciscoās body goes missing from his grave. when jesusā tomb was opened, he was also missing. they both resurrected.
during the credits, thereās a huge painting on a building of francisco as a christ figure. the paintings also include the zombies. the people shown all have tattoos of francisco, as if theyāre all followers surrounding a christ like symbol of him. ||
...Welp, time to watch again, that kind of changes ||what the monsters could be!||
That's such a good theory. XD
i def agree
something to kind of support the ||spiritual monster theory is that people donāt seem to turn until after death. salazar is seen with injuries on his hand but doesnāt turn until after execution||
watched final prayer / the borderlands and the ending actually got me
i had to pause because it was physically so hard to watch LOL. good movie!
all horror movie situations could be avoided if white people knew when to mind their own business. if a church was making noises at me you know what i would do? i would leave
So many horror films could be avoided that way. "Hey, do you want to go use a ouija board in the haunted asylum?" "Absolutely not."
exactly. im not doing that
either
A. oujia ghost kills you and nae naes hard
or
B. nothing happened and you wasted your time idiot
if i used a ouija board in an asylum the ghosts would be like āyouāre mentally ill too why you bothering usā and iād be like āyouāre right my bad.ā and id leave
Yeah, they always summon Zuul, they never summon Carl the janitor.

Not a movie, but RADAR is pretty cool. (only seen an analysis video of it)
parody horror yeah you can def talk about it here
i thought you meant savageland at first lol
Zombieland is absolutely horror. You can have very effective horror comedies, as comedy makes you care about the chars, which makes the horror parts have higher stakes. Shawn of the Dead is a very good example of this. Half the movie is funny, but from ||his mom revealing the bite onward|| it's zombie horror that pulls on all the emotional strings it wove.
For me it's a horror so long as the stakes of life and death are real.
...Also yes, highly recommend this one. XD
Fun fact: Itās one of my favorite movies. :3
It is fun! Fleegle is my favorite character.
Yeah, I suppose thatās true. I find āItā funny, while also finding it scary
Oh, good example!
We could probably go all day about examples of horror comedies. And there's kind of two genres. One is where it knows its ridiculous and the 'horror' part is more of fun. Like all the Friday the 13th sequels. Then the other kind is stuff like It and Shawn of the Dead where it does both in a kind of balance.
I feel āitā is the second type. Zombieland would be the first
I used to watch analogue horror, but I kind of stopped
No idea why
Kind of related to horror, Curious Archive on YouTube makes cool videos. If you donāt mind video essays, I would recommend listening to one
Ooooh, I just might!
Most of them are serious, although the āearth has terrible world buildingā is a bit of a joke
Anyone seen āready or notā?
My two favorite horror movies are Killer Klowns from outer space and tusk
Ikr!!!
I have not, is it any good?
Killer Klowns is a personal favorite. >.> It manages to be goofy, but also so frigging morbid/spooky.
How much can you handle in horror movies?
I've yet to find my limit?
Okay, so extreme swearing and gore is fine?
Par for the course for any Rob Zombie film, I'll be fine!
I would recommend āready or notā then
Itās on Disney, or you can always pirate it
POV: You have been inspired by peepy to commit these kind of acts
yeah peepy probably would watch disney⦠especially with ouioui
iāll check out ready or not
late to the party but this is a crazy movie. pretty good and memorable too
such an interesting concept too
Fire movie.
You guys might appreciate this. Clipping is a band that does a lot of urban horror and storytelling. A personal favorite.

i was thinking about this last night.. still scary several months later!
highly recommend you all watch it if you havenāt already
apparently the new terrifier movie is good but i donāt like that series

i saw a quiet place part 2 recently. not super scary but fun
I saw day one with my homie bothedestroyer

anyone wanting to see a good horror movie should check out tubi, so many classics on here https://tubitv.com/category/horror

Tubi is great. Kanopy has some good ones too if you have a library card
i have a buddy coming over tomorrow⦠iām gonna make some popcorn and special cookies ( #halloween-treat-competition ā¤ļø) but i need to pick a movie to watch!!
any suggestions? he doesnāt get scared easily..
well my absolute favorite is the babadook, iām actually doing last minute prep on my mr. babadook costume right now
already seen it! great movie though
smile was genuinely very fucking good i do recommend it
the first or second one
first one, i havenāt seen the second one yet bc im waiting to watch it with my mom
i think he told me he saw it but i havenāt.. iām interested and will probably watch it soon
thanks for the recommendation
ofc!
i also really enjoyed the autopsy of jane doe, and hereditary was so upsetting to me i had to go lay down and stare up at the ceiling for an hour
part of me wishes iād put hereditary down bc the themes of hereditary mental illness really screwed with me bad, but at the same time it feels almost cathartic now with some time past the initial watch lol
somewhat tangential but my buddy has been trying to get me to watch the terrifier movies with him recently and iām hesitant bc im not usually a slasher guy
i kinda hate terrifier
a good horror movie should make you scared to look at the villain, not grossed out
thatās my opinion at least
true true
personally excessive gore doesnāt really bother me as long as iām aware itās coming
my issue with slashers is like
the whole point is thereās this big scary dude who kills people and the origins are somewhat vague or very quickly explained
and then like
they become a franchise and one thousand movies are made trying to expand the lore and itās like
itās a big spooky guy that kills people you donāt have to keep digging it was fine as it is
i think there just needs to be a balance
yeah i mean some franchises have more problems with this than others
cough cough Jason X
godddd jason xxxxxx šššš
iāve been hesitant to watch more scream movies bc i genuinely really wnjoyed the first one and felt it was tied off with a neat bow so im worried anything else will just disappoint me
donāt watch more scream movies
v/h/s is good
theyāre hit or miss but mostly good
oo that looks interesting
something iāve been meaning to get into is japanese horror films
Juon and the ring are classics if you havenāt seen those
i keep promising myself iāll watch the first ringu and im always forgetting when i finally have spare time
for how much i love movies i am terrible at sitting down and watching them itās the adhd curse
Tetsuo the Iron Man and House 1977 are technically horror but more just good movies
gahhh iāll have to add those to my list
speaking of being terrible at watching movies i need to watch fight club again soon
not a horror movie but i just remembered im turning 22 soon which means i need a 22nd fight club viewing..,
lol
House 1977 is highly recommended. It was the director's first movie. He'd only made commercials before that. I could go on for paragraphs about my thoughts on this movie.
I've never seen Tetsuo the Iron Man, so I know what I'm watching tonight!
Hardcore Henry is good. Not a horror movie, but itās still good.
i need to rewarch the eyes of my mother again i love that movie
my friends and i watched pearl today and a lot of the scenes remind me of it
smile was kinda stupid ngl,,
If you've ever seen a horror film, you've likely experienced a jump scare. A mix of cinematic build-up, sonic tension, play on expectations and intent to scare, the jump scare is a classic building block in horror movies with one goal: catching the audience off guard and making them jolt. But what makes a good jump scare? Why do they feel so dif...
tony todd passed away
really sad. what an amazing dude
horror would not be the same without him
so many other great roles in other genres tooā¦
kazuo umezu and tony todd in one month really fucking me up
i didnāt know about kazuo umezu⦠thatās sad

this short always makes me so upset that i get a little nauseous
Bruh
oh my god
@sweet yew you would love this
the safe vibes of the christmas movie claymation but with constant reminders of the danger heās in, like the photos showing the reality of the situation and having the ||fairy poke his arm and head through the window to show that he can infiltrate his space||
What happened at the end?
ok so basically ||the kipsneed was actually just a puppet being used by a man who was stalking calem and planning to murder him in the abandoned house. he took advantage of a childās imagination to lure him into danger. the man is in the last picture calem took.||
a comment i read that makes sense is that ||the antenna of the kipsneed look like human eyes||
ohhh idk
probably just to be extra upsetting and mysterious
OH MY GOD I NEVER EVEN NOTICED THAT š
||we donāt know that heās dead, only that they never found the rest of him. itās possible he only took his feet so he couldnāt escape||
whiplash is that movie where a guy gets psychologically tormented by his band director or whatever right?
I guess you could say thatās what it is. Itās about drumming. Itās not so much torture than just verbal abuse.
ag right yes
i havenāt been able to make myself watch it bc i had a terrible time with a band teacher in elementary school š
I though it was really good, but itās heavy. If you want something lighter, Iād recommend the knives out films
oo yeah iāve heard good things about those
iām thinking of watching cuckoo soon. i meant to when it came out but im admittedly terrible at watching new things. even if it seems like ill like it lol
are you guys excited for the new nosferatu movie?

Alien Romulus is good
Alien Romulus on Hulu. Highly recommend!
Also I just watched The Birds for the first time. I cannot overstate how effectively scary it still is.
i still havenāt watched romulus yet
i thought it was a sequel to covenant and was sad when i found out it wasnāt
Romulus is also on Disney
If you guys want a great horror film, Thanksgiving on Netflix.
Trust me. It should not be as good as it is.
And tonight's the night to enjoy it. š
iāll check it out!!

super super inspired by The Thing
Aside from my joke post, Iām sure a bunch of yāall heard of āBad Parentingā but if you havenāt, the story telling of that game is so good. I wouldnāt say itās THAT scary but it is a bit unsettling. It looks like itās straight out of a PS1 game or something.
i wanna find more good body horror so bad
oh if video game horror is welcome here, iāve been really into world of horror. itās a roguelite mystery horror game thatās heavily inspired by the works of junji ito and hp lovecraft. lots of achievements to go after, lots of variation on characters you can play, backgrounds you can come from, curses you can suffer, ancient gods that you need to prevent the awakening of, and levels of difficulty you can play.
iād love to keep gushing about this but yall probably arenāt interested in reading a wall of text lol, hereās the release trailer

i could talk for ages about how much i love this game lol
i am interested in reading a wall of text
everyone here is thatās what this forum is for
this trailer is awesome but one of my biggest pet peeves is video game trailers that donāt show any gameplay
aah true true
so like
basically the goal of each playthrough is to beat a doom counter
if the counter reaches 100 then the old god is awakened. to reach the old god and end the ceremony you need to copmplete a series of mysteries that are selected at random at the beginning of the run and have a variety of endings
completing actions and exploding locations and visiting shops and such can run up that counter by various degrees
and sometimes depending on what status effects you have or mysteries you have completed beforehand, you can achieve very specific mystery endings
interesting
like in one mystery, in which the schools girls swim team is being abducted one by one, if you enter the final encounter with a specific curse inflicted on your character, you get a secret ending
or if you take a hatchet from the final monster in one mystery, it allows you to access a secret exit in another mystery that is normally blocked off
thereās a wide variety of characters to play that each have their own stats and effects
like haru, who starts with a nicotine addiction and can gain a yakuza card for cheaper prices in shops, he starts with better strength but bad knowledge
my favorite iāve been playing is juri okusawa, sheās a girl being stalked by a terrible entity, and she begins with family curse. as she does actions and explores locations, a counter for the closeness of her curse rises. she can level up at half the exp cost when the presence hasnāt caught her yet, but once her curse reaches 100% half of her face starts peeling off and she doesnāt get the leveling boost anymore
iām currently trying to unlock a secret character, whose existence is only hinted at by finding a bloody sweater in the woods, and a tv news report that can be encountered during the rest period between mysteries
iām also trying to encounter Something Truly Evil, which is the creature at the beginning of the trailer. but so far i havenāt been able to draw its attention and raise its meter enough to draw it out
when i do itās probably gonna kick my ass but i really wanna see it lol
hereās the other trailer, which does have gameplay
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfQ0KELzcqI

this is sweet
another thing i really like is thereās a wide variety of old gods to face off against! and successfully banishing one can open up the option to try your luck against another
each ancient god has its own negative effect
the gameplay looks fun
like the spider god preventing escape from battle, the dreaming god causing doom to raise when your reason drops, and the horror from the stars messing up your stats when you raise the doom too high
itās very fun!!!
and its actually pretty suspenseful. climbing the lighthouse at the end to get to the ceremony while your doom meter keeps climbing is honestly really nerve wracking for me lol
i just unlocked a new backstory effect that i need to beat and im dreading it
ill-fated: all event skill checks automatically fail š
does using these unlock dif endings?
it allows access to the next backstory, and beating some backstories can earn achievements or unlock new content in the game
so they can be difficult but theyāre worth the challenge of playing with
just finished the substance. wowzers
how scary is it? ive heard good things about the story but i need something scary
i wouldn't say its necessarily scary but it has really good tension and suspense building stuff. body horror/needles and such as well
it had some moments that actually make me disgusted and like. repulsed to what i was seeing
i definitely would recommend it
now im finally watching longlegs
wowie ! longlegs was good
yeah i liked it
okay i might have to check it out⦠a lot of movies donāt gross me out any more
i didnāt like terrifier though. too over the top
yea im pretty desensitized when it comes to movie gore but this one really did it
i haven't seen terrifier yet
Terrifier's a mixed bag for me. A slasher with a villain who's got a lot of personality, but there's times when it just borders on sadism.
I really want to see The Substance!
u should its great
the new nosferatu movie is really good i think
ive read dracula but i havent seen the original nosferatu so i cant compare it to that
but compared to dracula the book its a good adaptation
i think the messages around the dangers of different kinds of desire (money, lust, power) are all very interesting and well-communicated
theres a ||twist near the end|| that was done well
what is it?
Itās cool though
whether they aim to or not they always end up glamorizing the killers
Fair. I still recommend it, though
i think horror movies are best at using fictional monsters to represent grander ideas or struggles
there are no moral conversations to be had around real murderers
just senseless violence
^^^
Do you not like Terrifier then?
i donāt
Iām with you on that
Too much gore for no reason, except it just being the point of the movie
To be honest, I havenāt watched any of them, but thatās my understanding of them
terrifier is just splatterhouse shit i canāt enjoy at all
sure itās funny in parts but it just feels like nothing to me. gore is the substance and not like how SAW is with a convoluted plot thatās fun to follow
terrifier is just low quality trash to put on in the background
really lame shit
glad u guys agree with me... some of my buddies really like terrifier
my friendgroup all hates it except for once who just thinks its funny
i think i will watch all of the vhs movies tonight
how did it go? i think some are def better than others so im excited to see if we agree
unfortunately it has been rescheduled for tmrw night due to work training :[ however i have seen the first one and its now one of my favorite movies. i love both found footage and anthology movies so it was absolutely my jam
i will update once i do my marathon
yeah dude anthology and found footage is a match made in heaven (or HELL ! because its scary)
RIP david lynch
im gonna have to rewatch the elephant man in his memory
my bestie got me the creep special blu ray thing with a book and cards and stuff im going to frame them omg
Oh those are awesome!
just watched smile 2 with my mom!! the monster looked goofy as hell right at the end but it was pretty good
i really liked the scene where skye is in her apartment and itās full of her backup dancers that are attacking her in a way that looks like choreographed dance. very well done imo
IKR smile 1's reveal was way better, the face difference is night and day
kinda looked like a dhmis puppet
i knowwww the eyes were so silly š
i honestly think the monster would have looked WAY better if it had no eyes at all.
if it was that big fleshy thing but with no eyes and just a huge smile
why take attention away from what was always supposed to be its defining feature?
Iām a computer
maniacs, i saw repo the genetic opera a couple days ago and i cannot stop thinking about it. itās gloriously campy. delightfully gory. fascinating landscape. i generally dislike musicals but i loved it. why did people hate this masterpiece of a film. why didnāt that sequel that they were clearly gunning for not happen. itās so fun. iām obsessed.
Vivarium is weird
the movie about the cuckoo bird boy?
I have no idea why Repo didn't get a sequel and will die mad about it.
it was so fun!!!!! i think maybe people didnāt understand that camp is meant to not be taken too seriously. but iām obsessed with it. itās taken over my brain. i want to run a ttrpg with my friends set in this fucked up sugery world
I'm a big Cyberpunk fan and the aesthetic is very similar. Fresh organs give you better performance, but there's always strings attached.
Iām SO EXCITED FOR WEAPONS!!!the trailer looks good, i loved Barbarian, and iāve read word on the street that jordan peele was extremely interested in the script
yeah itās like. victorian steampunk with the body augmentation influences of cyberpunk. so cool
oooooo anything mr peele is on board with immediately has my attention
Has anyone watched yellowjackets? I NEED to yap about it with someone. The music choices in that show are literally perfect, and I love the factor of not knowing if it's all actually supernatural or psychological
i havenāt seen it but iāve heard of it, and i know i need to watch it. iāve also listened to florence and the machineās cover of im just a girl that was used in the soundtrack and i loved it
iāve seen a little bit. it was okay i just wasnāt super ensnared
Fair! I binged it all, it hooked me immediately.
The twists it takes are all completely unexpected and every time I thought I knew what was going to happen I was so wrong
I've watched Yellowjackets! I 100% agree on the music choices. Weirdly enough, I kind of think that the 'supernatural or psychological' works for the kid portion, but not the adult portion as much. But that might just be because I think the adult portion needs something to make it a bit more urgent/exciting.
All in all, it's a great show and like I really, REALLY hope that its building to something on the adult side. The kids side is some of the most tense, consequential and twisty stuff I've seen. Them grown ups need to pick it up!
hereās my horror
