A thing that kept me from finishing Octo Canyon from Splatoon 2 sooner was the amount of padding. I felt like I was doing meaning busywork by playing each level with every weapon type. Yes, I didn’t have to do that to finish the game, but I literally didn’t know any better back then.

In hindsight, I should have just not thought about doing that and just sticking to getting the scrolls and sardinium in each level.

I think just because how straight forward Octo Valley was, it makes me wish Octo Canyon was as straight forward.

All I’m saying is that if I didn’t care about clearing every level with every weapon type, I would have finished the campaign in a few months

i had a lot of fun repeating the stages, but more so bc i viewed it as practice with the different weapon types :D! if i wanted to focus on one weapon for turf/ ranked i'd just hop in the canyon and complete the story with just that weapon

Here's another thing I didn't like about using multiple weapons in Octo Canyon. The concept alone got rid of the amiibo challenges. Now you just get the gear in 2 and 3.

There are exceptions, but it's mostly like that

what i did was get the room reset hacks and all of the drone chip hacks, along with some general lives + armour hacks and such, and then i did a run with marina's kit!! i also took the advice to only take one type of colour chip (the drone chips; the room reset hack is also for that in case none of the right ones come up) and it was real easy once i got the ball rolling!
