Is it normal for a peepys squeaker to not work?

I've heard that because of the dense stuffing inside of the itemLabel friends, especially Peepys, the squeakers can't get enough air in them to squeak loudly. My Tigerpy has a speaker with the same problem and I've heard about other people experiencing the same thing or something similar

Yeah, a number of people have said this, it's at least not just a you problem. I have 3 Peepys and 2 OuiOuis, and they all squeak at varying strengths (I just got a Lemonpy too and it's the hardest to squeak of all of them). I thought I remembered seeing mods say once or twice that giving it a good punch can help get the air back in there, if you wanna do that lol. But yeah you might just have to kind of play around with it and move it around and such to get it to work a little better

btw peepys have two squeakers. one in their head, and the other in their abdomen. they can be anywhere in the stuffing not just the middle.

yeah! i do suggest lookin around a bit to see if you can get a good grip on the squeaker :-) i don’t have a peepy yet but my ouioui also needs to be punched to get a sound out lol
you can perhaps also execute a quick surgery to check or replace his squeaker(s)! good luck with him!!

all of the squeaker issues ive encountered could be fixed by surgically removing some filling (i have no sewing experience tho and didnt do it myself so @tawdry sleet could probably explain the procedure better)

I dont really wanna cut my lemonpy open and remove some stuffing

I felt around and its in the lower part of the head like the bottom of each segment. I tried squishing in a few times all to no avail. Im going to wait and see what happens.

When i fix the squeaker of the plushies i open the one seam that is used to turn the plushie inside out and stuff it (you can recognize this seam bc its a bit more wavy and not as much of a straight line).
Then i get all of the stuffing and the sqeaker out which is usually dented which can be fixed by using a blow dryer but it shouldnt get too hot.
Then i pull the stuffing apart a bit to make it more fluffy and like have more volume and because of this i only put around half of the original stuffing back in the plushie (its more fluffy after this and bc of this also easier to sqeak but its not really necessary if you dont want to).
Then i put the sqeaker in and when doing this you have to keep in mind that it should be in the middle of the stuffing and not just above or beneath it
And then i sew the seam shut again using a ladder stitch.

Technically you really only cut the yarn of the seam when i get home i can also send a picture of what the seam looks like and where it usually is

Not sure if you can see it in the first picture but this seam is like more wavy and not a straight line which also makes it a bit harder to see so i marked it in the second picture. Also i checked and this seam is always on the right side on the Butt and its easier to open than the other seams.

I've been meaning to fix the squeakers in my sisters ypeep for a while now i could show the process step by step while doing this if that helps?

my friend has a freezerburnpy that squeaks and I love it thats why the first thing I did was try to squeeze it but it didnt work. Thats why I created this forum, I just check my lemonpy and its also wavy and the spot you colored

Alright im gonna use my sisters ypeep. So the first step is to open the seam for that i carefully pull it apart a bit till i can see the strings and then you can put a needle under one of them to make it stick out so you can cut it better

Then you pull the seam apart again to pull out the strings that are now loose and it looks like this.
And the front and the back are connected so this is enough to get the whole stuffing and the 2 squeakers out

The first picture is how it looks when everything is out and as you can see both squeakers are dented and you fix this by carefully blow drying it while also pushing against the dent a bit till its round again. I also always pull the stuffing apart abit like in the last picture bc its pretty firm and i personally think its better when the itemfriends are more fluffy.
After i fixed both squeakers and pulled the whole stuffing apart i put it back in (you usually only need about half of the stuffing now). That part is a bit tricky bc you have to pay attention to the placement of the squeaker

After its sufficiently fluffy and the squeakers are in the right place i close the seam again with a ladder stitch

Im thinking I could just mash him up with the cloth still on and that will make the stuffing less dense, is that a viable option?

i get what you mean in thw video but I dont think this will make the stuffing spread very evenly also the reason the stuffing is so firm is because theres just so much stuffed in there so if you dont get any out it will not get much fluffier but it also doesnt necesarily need to be this is like an extra step

hey bean have you ever cut seams on mistake/ sheep peepys?? i have one with one defective speaker and its kind of hard to find the seam because of the curly fur.

There are 2 seams on peepys back that make a cross the one on the right is the one you need to cut. The seams go along the center. Does this help locating them?

sometimes you just have to punch him to make it start squeaking normally (i have to punch or squeeze my lemonpy super hard to get him to squeak and it’s still quiet. he’s just shy
