i can see it as either the like with that one image of either a wine glass or two people almost kissing, and i find it cuter as a nose. that said, i think it's fun to imagine it's something else entirely

this is how i imagine sucklet feeds. the tendrils grow into decomposing material like roots into the ground to absorb nutrients

Idea:
Normal Sucklet - Doesn’t need mouth, decomposes organic material in the same way as fungi. It’s fur can also act as taste buds which is why some Sucklets prefer certain foods.

Dark Sucklet - Has nose and mouth, needs to sniff out food to find it due to it being nocturnal. The mouth is mostly hidden by fur but Dark Sucklets will de-hinge their jaw to eat larger foods.

Moss Sucklet - it doesn’t need treats or food, only sunlight and water so no mouth is needed. It’s nose doesn’t function like a normal nose.. it uses it to detect dew in areas with lots of humidity.

Poison Sucklet: Because they mainly get food by hunting, Poison Sucklets have lots of sharp teeth. Most of the time their prey is too big to simply decompose which makes their mouth essential. In a similar way to snakes, it uses its tongue to detect chemicals in the air.
