#Winctrl MCDU inputs fail during flight

Hello together,

I'm flying the Fenix A319/A320 and I use the MCDU from Winctrl ever since no problem. Since a few flights the MCDU inputs drop out during flight. If I use the inputs on the virtual MCDU the screen and anunciators still work fine. Even restarting Mobiflight doesn't help. If I remove the MCDU cable and then restart Mobiflight it works again.

Sim App Pro is not installed.

Is anyone able to help me here? How can I provide relevant logfiles?

Big thanks

enable log in mobiflight first, then once you encounter the problem again, that pressing the buttons does nothing in sim, see the log panel (View -> Show log panel in beta version, or it will show automatically in non-beta I think when logging is enabled

#

you should see if the button presses register in mobiflight, and then if there is any error reported from the sim

#

does the "sim status" stay green when this happens?

any other panels you have with mobiflight? do they also stop working?

#

ok

The button Press we're not registered

#

I run the Efis and FCU and my custom Overhead over Mobiflight too and everything works fine

but not mcdu buttons? but the screen and leds on the mcdu work fine?

how is the unit connected to pc?

#

does it make a difference how bright you have the screen and backlight?

#

wondering if it is a power consumption thing (I think the unit has two usb ports, another one is for extra power?) - it might be needing quite solid power feed, so could try a powered hub and connecting the two cables to see if it makes a difference

#

or it is something else

#

I wonder if @hushed blaze has heard of anything similar

I had exactly this same problem a few weeks ago after a simapppro update, I reran the firmware update to drop back to V1.03 and it was OK. I'm on msfs2020.

I try to revert to 1.03 and see if this change things. The MCDU worked flawless all the time

I then put 1.04 back on as that was the version that I had since Febraury.

So it works now with 1.04?

queen harness
#

yes, it's fine.

OK thx

During the update it changed the Winctrl name back to Winwing with the G in red. Also during the update the screen on the mcdu displayed a large font size then it failed to work afterwards. Do you have 1.03 and 1.04 files? I have both if you need them. Fairly certain it was 1.04 that originally chnaged to the name on the display to Winctrl.

I just did a fresh install of 1.04. Shouldn't that work too if reverting Back and forth works?

Some strange problems occur related to usb power supply. More devices on the same usb hub? TrY connect directly to the pc.

I'd expect 1.04 to be ok, it is ok on mine.

So this failure still exists for me

#

I have attached a second USB C cable just for power supply

#

The MCDU fails nearly every flight

next time it happens can you share your logs so we can see if any errors happen

this is what I see. I activated debugging mode now

smoky cosmos
#

we will need the log from when the freeze happens to see if anything gets logged.

#

im guessing if you stop start mobiflight it starts working again?

ok i cannot see any errors in the log provided.

#

whent he freeze happens try and use the fenix remote mcdu to see if that updates

neat relic
#

Thanks, I'll try
