#Problem with Arduino Mega 2560 and 5 multiplexers

I've soldered 5 multiplexers as they should be soldered and connected s0-s3 lines as configures with signal pins as configured as well. But problem comes when I try to connect s0 to pin2 as set up because it puts arduino into reboot loop and same goes for s1 line going to pin3. No shorts, no stray connections, everything set up as it should be. Anyone knows the fix?

by reboot loop do you mean you hear the usb disconnect "bong" sound and the arduino com port disappears, or what do you mean?

then it is almost certainly a short circuit

update:
tried same setup on arduino unio.
there it works fine but now pin reading are ironius like floating enable pin but that is directly connected to ground

it is the usb port shutting itself down to protect your motherboard because the arduino draws too much current

#

show pictures of how you wired it

aighty its a terible job but no shirt circuits

#

tested everything with multimeter

#

It works with uno somewhat

I would maybe test each much separately by first disconnecting the muxes from each other first and try connecting one mux first

#

divide and conquer to rule out things

#

if one works, add another to the same shared pins and data

#

if the first even doesnt wrok, each separately first

Aye good point
Will try so
Thanks

yea its usually a good approach to any problem, to try to isolate the issue and then maybe get a clue where it might be

Tested them individually. Same problem for every single one. Either ironius button presses or no reading at all. I dont have 1k ressistor between enable pin and ground since when tested on breadboard, it worked only without it.

Is interfeerance from wires stron enough to garble the signal?

hmm, which version do you have?

#

because latest beta seems to have some issues with multiplexers now

#

just to rule out that

#

but of course if it reboots the arduino it is not a software issue

11.1.0

#

thats the version of mobiflight used

#

it works fine if wires go directly to arduino

Which pin are you trying to use? Show a picture of your arduino.
