#Winwing MCDU screen says Mobiflight constantly
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
which vendor and aircraft is this for?
The list of supported aircraft is here
https://docs.mobiflight.com/game-controllers/winctrl/winctrl-cdu/
Instructions on how to use the WinCtrl CDU with MobiFlight.
Ah sorry, pretty essential info I forgot to mention 😅 This is in the Fenix A320
Mobiflight should detect the aircraft and start the Fenix specific python script to extract the MCDU data. Activate the logging to verify if Mobiflight is starting the script "fenix_winwing_cdu.py".
You could start the script manually as a workaround, until we can figure out why it is not running automatically.
I updated simapppro last week in my setup and lost the display right away with the buttons still working, all I did was roll back the Simapp and reflashed the mcdu and all was back to working normally. Whilst Simapprp was starting I did see very large font being displayed for a short time.
So a firmware update from Winctrl? Maybe @analog ivy needs to take action here.
Hmmm I found an update for the FCU but none for the MCDU. I am currently at v1.04
You need to give us more information to identify your issue. I successfully loaded the Fenix A320 (MSFS2020) and my MCDU screen shows the same as the virtual cockpit running with Mobiflight.
Does the screen on the MCDU say
STARTING:
FENIX_WINWING_CDU.PY
when you press Run in Mobiflight???
I will try again tonight when I am home, but from memory I don’t think it does say that, I think it just says Mobiflight straight away. Will confirm later though, thanks
No, it does not say that on the screen when I press run and it also does no appear in the log.
Also most of my buttons no longer seem to function since yesterday. Mobiflight registers in the log that things are being pressed, but it doesn’t seem to be sending the action to the sim. Was all working fine yesterday, has something changed with the update?
Okay I just tried again and this time it did run the script in the log and the screen is working. But like I say, now most of my buttons/switches aren’t working so 1 step forward, 2 steps back 😭😭
Firmware update done on your device?
At some point Winctrl renamed all their devices also in their usb name from winwing to winctrl. Might brake the controller binding in your profile. Try to reassign.
Sorry, just to clarify, I meant buttons and switches unrelated to my MCDU, just like all of my overhead buttons and switches
Ah, just seen another thread mentioning a similar issue regarding multiplexers, that would explain it
How do I manually run the script please?
