#How do I make Hubhop presets work?

Obviously a very newbie question. I am currently flying the Aerosft CRJ550. When Mobiflights starts (autorun) it asks and I agree to download updated presets. MF shows sim is connected and the CRJ 550 aircraft is identified. But many things for which I know there are presets for in Hubhop, dont show in MF and dont work on my HC Bravo. The only presets I see in MF are for the ones I made for another aircraft (becasue Hubhop didn't have any). I assume this is an acto or ommision on my part so any help with this would be much appreciated.

You selected the vendor (Aerosoft) and the CRJ 550-700-1000 I guess?

lean tusk
#

In Hubhop or MF?

hubhop presets are MF presets. You can update them manually via the Extras menu in case you or someone added new ones and the weekly update MobiFlight does has not yet occurred.

The presets of course are also different for inputs and outputs, at least I have sometimes looked up some in outputs in hubhop and then realized they wont of course shw up for input configs, or vice versa, in mobiflight.

Ok, so this is a screenie of how it looks to me at the moment. Those presets are contrubtions I made to Hubhop for the B727. But you can see I have the CRJ loaded and I have downloaded the latest presets, but...nothing is showing except my B727 inputs/outputs?

You need to create the Input and outputs for the CRJ and save them to a separate mcc file. Then link that file to the CRJ and then Mobiflight will auto load that profile when the CRJ is loaded.

Double-click on the last row and then on edit. Show a sreenshot then- we go from there.

It explains the fundamentals of mobiflight and how to create inputs and outputs

lean tusk

Ok will do. I guess I thought there was easy way to download all the presets without having to create each one in MF. Thanks for the help guys. Much appreciated.

I think you are confusing hub hop entries which define events and configurations in Mobilflight that map those events to your devices

lean tusk
#

LOL. I may well be 🤪 . Strangely enough I managed to create presets for B727 OK and contribute them to Hubhop but mapping other Hubhop contributions seems to be the problem that you have identifed.

# lean tusk Ok will do. I guess I thought there was easy way to download all the presets wit...

Each aircraft developer, especially the bigger ones like Inibuilds, PMDG, Fenix, do their own thing and not necessarily follow the standard generic events provided by the simulator. So, it is next to impossible to be able to select all the functions for am aircraft automatically. A human has to do that in an mcc file. Also the possible hardware used can vary widely and there is no way to predict how a builder has made a particular project, except for commercially available hardware like Winwing devices.

Thanks Jamie. Yes I kind of came across this with the FSS B727 since the HC Bravo doesn't have fuel levers and so nothing was mapped for fuel cut off. But I guess in the case of the CRJ 550 I know there a large number of presets in Hubhop that users have contributed. I guess I'm just stuck on how I can use them without loading them one by one into MF as I have done for the B727? As @Neil E has suggested, I am missing knowledge on how to map those presets to my HC Bravo using MF. Anyway, I shall take the advice and read more deeply into the MF setup and particualrly as Neil E has suggested, the autoloading configurations. Thanks for the help guys. 👍

On your last ss, you click on scan for input- press the HC-button you want use. There will be a new menu, where you can select the vendor and a/c. You will need this sooner or later- it is not difficult.

lean tusk
#

Ok thanks @misty quail . So I selected my HC Bravo module, scanned for input, selected Switch 1 - Down and selected MD Flight Simulator for Action type. This then gave me the option to select a vendor and aircraft and I see it has found 592 matches. How do you suggest I proceed from here?

misty quail
#

What function do you want to trigger?

#

Take a simple one first

lean tusk
#

Well I guess I am trying to get the Landing lights Left/Nose/Right, mapped to the first three switches on the bravo.

misty quail
#

Type "light" in the search field, this will reduce the number of matches by a big number, choose from those matches.

lean tusk
#

Great. So now I have 6 presets that I can map to the Bravo. So, I'll have a few other lights too but it should just like when I manually mapped the B727. So my question now is, after I have completed the mappings, how does it not get confused with B727 mappings when I 'Autorun' MF on start up?

misty quail
#

Go to the main screen now and show me

lean tusk
#

Ok but I havn't mapped anything yet ?

misty quail
#

Go here and link the config to the CRJ:

lean tusk
#

Ok. Selected Auto-Load Link config.!

misty quail
#

OK. First think now: Go to File- safe as - give it a name- it will be a .mcc file dedicated to the CRJ.

lean tusk
#

Done.

misty quail
#

If you are sure, that you dont need any of the 727 presets, you can delete them (delete row) and safe this config again.

#

If you are not sure safe a second profile first and call it B727.

#

Then reload the CRJ .mcc

lean tusk
#

Ok the CRJ has a cuation triangle next to it. How do I reload it? I have saved the 727 config as an .mcc so I dont lose that.

misty quail
#

Go to file- open.

lean tusk
#

Ok went to file open and found the CRJ .mcc. Clicked on it. Selected run, but it is still showing the caution triangle. Maybe becasue I dont have anything CRJ in there at the moment?

misty quail
#

It is completely empty?

lean tusk
#

Well no it still has the B727 stuff in there becasue although I created a B727.mcc I didnt delete the B727 lines. Should I do that and try again?

misty quail
#

Wait. Try first to unlink it and relink it. Sometimes it does that. Do also stop + run MF.

lean tusk
#

Not sure if the unlink worked but I selected 'Link current config' and that displayed the green arrow. But off course it has the B727 stuff in there and no CRJ presets so i guess I need to delete the b727 stuff and start mapping the CRJ as you have explained so well above. I guess I would then just resave it with the new presets?

misty quail
#

If you are working right now with the .mcc file designated for the CRJ, then all ok. Delete the 727 rows and save again.

lean tusk
#

Ok, done. Had a bit of glitch with the 727 deletions probably becasue I forgot to select stop before istarted deleting them. Had stop it Task Manager. Reopend MF and saved the config to CRJ.mcc which now has nothing in it. I do notice that when I restart MF I am getting these warnings.

#

Perhaps they need to be unlinked some how?

compact prism
#

You need to add some configurations to the file. If there's no configurations then there is nothing to run

#

And there is nothing to unlink. Just start adding configurations to that file you are overthinking this 😅

#

And I suggest you turn off logging. There is no need to have it on unless you are trying to troubleshoot something specific

misty quail
#

Add some inputs first. To check if the linking is working, you do need to change planes in the SIM and see, if MF is taking the correct .mcc.

#

I do not use AutoRun. I always run/ stop MF manually. But that is just me.

lean tusk
#

Ok so I need to get some data into this .mcc and do a logic check by swapping aircraft in the sim and see if the correct .mcc is being picked up. Well its just gone 1.30 in the morning here in New Zealand, so I wont doing much more tonight but @misty quail you have been a great help and without you showing me how to do this I dont know how I would have got through it since it seems far from intuitive. But at the same time easy, once you explained it. And thank you too @compact prism for staying with me on this. Good suggestions also on stopping logging and not selecting autorun. Although I do like the auto run feature and will probably use it again, but only after I'm sure everythings working as I expected to prevent any more glitching. If you don't mind, I'll be sure to '@ ' you guys again if I run into any more problems. In the meantime If I could buy you a beer aI would. 🍻 . Take care guys. Terry
