#Unhandled Exception In 10.5.2.5 for PMDG 737/777

I installed the Mobiflight beta 10.5.2.5 and Python (selecting admin and PATH), then ran the 2 command lines.

Any time I try to either use a downloaded profile, or manually program something for the PMDG planes in MSFS20, I get This unhandled exception error. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Python with no luck.

This is for WinWing A320 MCDU.

@patent bronze Do you know what might cause this?

#

@wispy reef what output do you get when you run python --version from a command line?

To help diagnose your problem we need to see your MobiFlight logs. Follow this step-by-step guide to provide them: Providing logs from MobiFlight

you don't need to be in an admin window (and shouldn't be). just a normal command window is fine.

#

were you running MobiFlight as admin?

wispy reef
#

got it, without admin mode, still getting the same reaction. I've been running mobiflight not as admin

trim garden
#

so python isn't found when you run it from the command line in a non-admin powershell?

wispy reef
#

uninstalled, reinstalled, ensuring PATH is selected and again not getting anything on python --version. Flummoxed

trim garden
#

did you restart the command window/terminal after install? It won't pick up the path change until you do

wispy reef
#

yes, not the computer, but restarted cmd.exe

trim garden
#

I can't imagine this will make a difference, but run Windows Terminal not cmd.exe and see what happens

wispy reef
#

python --version can be run from any folder in cmd right?

trim garden
#

yes, assuming it is on the path

wispy reef
#

Does this require W11? I'm still on W10

trim garden
#

it shouldn't matter

wispy reef
#

ok I think I might have found my issue. Let me diagnose

trim garden
#

@patent bronze will have to chime in I guess. Not sure what's wrong, it's clearly not on your path which is why in general this isn't working

#

(We shouldn't crash though)

wispy reef
#

yup ok here's my issue, an older version of Python is a requirement for Unreal Engine 5, so it's causing a conflict with the new Python3 version I just installed. Going to play and hope I don't nuke my UE5 install

#

Computers are stupid

#

in case this ever comes up again somehow, you need to go into Manage App Execution Alaises, and turn off the older version of Python

#

Thank you @trim garden !

We'll fix the crash

Can confirm working flawlessly, even have the PMDG 737 screen on the MCDU working, amazing
