Here is the adapter
The new front plate (not that beautiful but itās behind the panel)
It fits quite well, need to move the yoke around 2 mm to the right
A makeshift decoration 𤣠thatās a hell of a patina
Itās fixated by 3 screws with threaded inserts - its really solid but easy to remove
Next things will be the button plate for the PTT and autopilot buttons

Thanks ! Got my upholstery stuff from Amazon and AliExpress , itās quite easy to work with when you use spray glue
Now I prefer the fake wild leather , it feels great
just gotta be careful if laser cutting artificial materials, some have chlorine (like PVC)
the material disintegrates with the laser and chrlorine turns into hydrochloric acid with the moisture from air
there is laser safe sticker "vinyl" too for example
regular vinyl is PVC

a little sideproject from today , I just wanted a small tool that creates some VFR flights without the need for running it on the sim PC , connecting to the sim, checking for every pound in the luggage compartment to match the ādemandā or teleporting me around to a different parking lot
Just a tiny tool that I can check on mobile during lunch , it searches the weather and the charts so I can make my flight plan for the evening, then hop in and go
And this was the result after a few hours of vibe coding and i thought maybe someone of you find this useful too , so i just post it here
Itās just a personal tool , mainly for Germany and Europe, nothing special
I just made a support, to decrease friction I glued some PTFE strips on the inside and these pads can be adjusted by screws šŖ
I recall some planes have three ball bearings in triangular arrangement around the tube
but of course the aileron axis would slide anyway so this is probably a very good approach
unless one would do a two direction roller bearing thing but that would be just way big
It was the easiest approach, the rod itself doesnāt need this bushing, but it helps taking away some forces ⦠especially when the kids are playing around with the stuff š
That was a looooong waiting! But here they are - they are heavy as hell

I was thinking of mechanical dampening by moving an arm along a lever to get variable leverage based on airspeed for example
but of course doing it via dc motors and h-bridge or something would be one of those things to look into someday

Yes , that pneumatic approach should allow to adjust the pressure/force dynamically. A motor that compresses a Zylinder to increase and decrease the pressure dynamically is the next thing if the overall concept works. But the possibility to adjust the force and the progression of the āspringā brings some new possibilities
A test setup , compressing the right cylinder increases the force of the other two
I have also a static pressure on the inward pushing port , this seems to help with canceling the flow from one cylinder to another, but thatās just for testing.
btw, flightlink pedals had a nice mechanical spring
it was a wide metal plate that was behind pedals, bungee pulled it towards pilot
and each pedal pushed it back

Reading a in sim LVar and sending it to a VJoy axis , this would allow me to hack some motion sim functions

output config -> display -> input action
with "onchange" mode
use modifiers to scale it to the 0-100 range (if I remember correctly) that vjoy expects
display -> input action is a cool swiss army knife tool
also lets you easily apply interpolation etc to a potentiometer input, much nicer than ncalc

Could be useful to bind the turbulence to a VJoy axis and in DRSM use this axis with the new joystick input to mix it onto heave or something
or see if you get any sensible data from the different acceleration vectors
They are already taken into account, but the Comanche has 2 flight models - the custom one you see and in the background the default one that MSFS requires - this one is also used by the motion software but it lacks some effects that are only possible inside the custom flight model - so I try to get the variables from that and inject it to the motion software

I have one like that. I am still looking how to get it integrated into Home Assistant, haven't thought about Mobiflight yet. I mean, sim racers have these air hoses for air flow simulation, for flight something that actually looks like a prop would be very much in style.

looks like asobo is adding control force simulation to flight models,
its now in xcub for example but it needs to be in the aircraft flight model

no access from outside but the parameters are there , so one could likely model something based on the dynamic pressure simvar and slip and alpha maybe
I hope this leads to some real FFB support in the future, this values are ingame for a while now but no one really knows what they are for
yeah they seem to be part of the new flight models. I mean ideally one would be able to get those out and feed them directly for control loading

my friend has this tool in a varjo sim
where I think they have eye tracking to move cursor, and then they have a small encoder + 2 buttons on the leg of the pilot
so they can look at a thing in the cockpit and then twist the encoder
and it apparently works super well
so if one could get the contr9ol that you hilight in blue" and could have some kind of "encoder-ring" (maybe could hack one from esp32 and some printed gear thingy)
it migth be interesting on your index finger so you could rotate it with your thumb
- Added āCockpit Interaction Increase/Decreaseā to [Squeeze + Top/Bottom buttons]
- These new actions will be useful if you have to interact with any system that is too sensitive to motion controls
Thatās interesting! Back in the days we used the center view point to interact with instruments : pointing the cursor with the head to the switch you want and manipulate it with a button on the yoke
But I prefer the hardware after all š¤£
