#convert latching to Momentary KD22

Hi everyone.
I bought a box of KD22 switches.
I thought I had bought momentary ones, but the ones that came are latching.
Is it possible to convert the latching ones to momentary?

I think I worked it out. You just have to press the switch twice.

No, there is a locking mechanism inside the button. It just needs to be removed.

How did you open the button ??

Remove back of the switch you said.. like remove a tiny screw or something ?

Or your pried your way into it, leaving quite some dents? 😅

have you folks tried getting white ones, painting with black and diode engraving texts? The led will likely shine through well enough, they are pretty bright

or you can disassemble for painting

or just mask it with a tiny piece of tape or scrape clean after its dry

yea just pull

but painting with spray is best done with cap on to avoid messing the internals if you want to paint the frame too

Ah nice, and a new one can just be pushed in until I hear a click sound ?

Nah I won’t paint them, but I can change the led window size to have its length increased and ideally with 2 horizontal black bars, so technically it would look closer to an Airbus fcu button. I mean, stilling missing the other led, but that’s fine, can’t have all 🙂

My FF757/767 mcp for xplane was made using these momentary switches from this manufacturer as well. Good ones.
