I just got around to configuring some hardware in mobiflight this is the beginner class we did on Saturday 1st class. In mobi flight the bottom of the screen where it says what it’s doing everything is backwards
When I press the button is shows “release” and when no longer press it shows ”press” when I flip the toggle switch up it logs 2 things “release and press” and same when flipping the switch down. Also on the encoder when I turn the knob clockwise it logs as encoder 1 left 2 times per time it rotates why is everything backwards ???

Easiest fix is to just reverse the wires on the button to arduino connection
for the encoder you should also flip the wires, and then play with the encoder type settings in the modules dialog
Sounds like you configured them backwards in mobiflight modules dialog then? You'll have to reverse the pins in the modules dialog
I didn’t configure anything yet
You must have otherwise there would be no log messages and no inputs detected. Look at your Mobiflight Modules dialog, post a screenshot of the configuration for one of the buttons that is acting backwards
Sebastian from mobi flight plugged it into his computer and did some things and made sure the leds worked on the buttons I haven’t done anything to this yet
ok. So did it work at the event correctly?
We don’t know none of us looked at the log
post a screenshot of your log window with a single button press that you say is reporting its status backwards
(You can use WIN+SHIFT+S to take a screenshot and then paste it in discord instead of your phone, makes it easier to read)
Yes, that's reporting backwards
send a screenshot of the Mobiflight Modules dialog with that button selected
This is me holding the button
This is on a laptop without discord installed
install Discord? 🤣
Not on this laptop 💀

I think your switch has the wires soldered on the wrong way around
that's my best guess
@halcyon atlas will have to chime in when he is awake
The encoder is the same way as well clockwise is left and vice versa
I'm not sure what his setup was for the event
Also the switches this is what it is saying when flipped up
This is the switch went from bottom to top like turning on a light in the house
Also with the encoder should it be logging 2 events per rotation? Like trying to move the altimeter one number up ie: from 29.92 to 29.93 it will log twice in mobiflight
that's just an encoder configuration problem, it's set to the wrong type of encoder in the modules dialog
I suggest waiting for Sebastian to be awake. He set all this up for the workshop and others had success, I'm not sure what his config was
Yes, but the inverted values seem more a hardware problem
Also something I tried
We received email with configs i uploaded it and it’s still the same I’m also leaning towards the 2 wires being flip flopped
@austere sundial hey my friends! great you're reaching out to us
first: the encoder pin configuration has to be swapped - we did that in the workshop
i think it's 28 - 30 but it should be 30 - 28 / encoder type has to be the 2nd option from the drop list
1 pulse detent (11)
the buttons - that's weird. they were working well the way they were soldered by me
i don't think i made a mistake ... but are the wires connected to the outside of the pins that are three next to each other?
Encoder fixed
the toggle switches are ON-ON switches
so you will see an OnRelease and OnPress at the same time always
wires are looking good
Hmm 🤔 red normally closed black common and on the board black on left side red on right side
black is first cable - then red
Yes
it is looking correct and for a switch it doesn't matter
what you can do is to sinply assign OnRelease as if it was OnPresss
