Imagine spending weeks maybe even months, preparing, gathering rss and gors just to get that one item or schematic you need to reach the next tier and unlock new content. Then you grind for hours, hoping for the drop, and get nothing. Sure, it’s RNG, and bad luck happens, but it’s incredibly discouraging to invest that much time and walk away with zero progress. Instead of feeling rewarded, it feels like time wasted, pushing you into another cycle of weeks or months just for another chance. That’s not engaging gameplay.
A pity system or shop would solve this by ensuring that every effort contributes toward a clear goal. For example, an exchange for 2,000 legendary materials for a mythic gear, or 200 familiar materials for a legendary schematic. Even if the RNG doesn’t go your way, you’d still be steadily progressing instead of starting from nothing each time.
While this might reduce the value of gors, it creates a meaningful tradeoff, players can either get gors to get items faster through RNG, or play the long game and guarantee their rewards through consistent effort.
