I am currently using Multifrequency Crystal Level: 30, will skill Large laser 5/5/5. I currently have a total of 4600+ damage.
I run 50/50 encounter with AI, within 7 hours.

Focused Crystal is the best in most cases, Aerospace + DNI + Sniper Guard would be more efficiency in null-sec AI ratting, but it cannot be used in hi-sec

if you dont mind checking in on your ai ship every 20mins or so DNI with aerospace will clr 50/50 with labs mixed in in 4 to 5hrs

Focused crystal is by far the best choice and unless your in some serious situation like in null space you don't have to pop your implant, just let it stack and your DPS will grow, obviously the higher your level the more DPS you get.
Passive damage is champ

I tested the simulation when max skill and lvl 40 implant MC, the ship got 6400+ damage

Multi is better than focus crystal
Reason being
- Focuz implant has recharge time
- Before start f each encounter focus implant needs to hit and recharge.
But multi frequency dmg bonus is applied default like passive.
Let's say without implant your dps is 1000
Focus will increase your dps
Upto 2000
While multi 1.8
But bfr it reaches 2000 it will strt 1.1, 1.2,1.3k and so forth
In multi frequency itd 1.8 k from starting.
With focus implant each time u warp to new encounter or anom u restart from 1k dmg
HOPE IT HELPS
Focus is prefered in terms of pvp. Due to armour or shield plate skill
And yes u cn also switch dmg type in multi frequency depending on enemy resistance
