What kinda loot can I expect from the rats?
Is there better regions?
Is it even worth going and any recommended ships?

Kalevala has ok loot. Mostly PI but a lot of pirates hunting you. You will die several times before you get an exit filament. Highly recommend a well fitted ship. Personally i don't go there anymore.

That's not really much of a threat to a cyan.

You can't bring cyna into them. Theres a tonnage requirement, small filaments destroyer and below, medium filaments battlecruiser and below, large battle ship and below

Na you can bring any ship in any kalevala region. The only thing is to get a type 2 or type 3 filament from large kalevala which gives you a change to go to random large/medium/small kalevala in any sub cap.
Type 2 only gives chance for medium and large.
Type 3 gives access to all kalevala.
