How can a CEO disband a corporation?

They cannot - there is no way to fully disband a corp afaik.

The best option is to just kick everyone, then create a new alt, transfer leadership to it and then just leave it mothballed.

Do you think deleting the alt after will accomplish this?

I'm not sure that's possible, but have never tried.

I suspect that if you did manage to delete the alt while it was CEO of an empty corp that the corp would still persist anyway

you can't delete an account if it's in a corp

I've even contacted NE support directly in the past asking if they would remove a (known) dead/empty corperation in order to free up the corp ticker - they basically said no.

Seems like all corps will persist for ever 😂
