I know doing dirty tricks and "cheating" opponenets/other players within the game mechanics of the game are all considered legitimate but there is some nasty market activity going on where people buy out all of a variant of a faction item then place just one or two for sale what looks like a couple million cheaper than the other faction alternative. Actually they are adding 3 extra digits and frauding people out of billions. Happened to me today. And lost 7 billion thinking I was spending 7 mil. I've almost got caught again this evening. I know people, people who pay omega, quit the game after this. I'm still deciding. I don't feel safe anymore. Reading my market purchases over and over unsure. Game enjoyment is gone. 7 bn is over a year of hard graft for me. Corp mates have kept me going but I'm not enjoying this anymore. I'll see how I feel when my omega runs out in January. You may not want to do anything about this but I guarantee you it's gonna hit Netease pocket because when you get smashed for that much and it's a dirty market trick, not some fair fight in a ship, the spirit of the game is not there. Just making you aware. Honestly depressed AF right now. My Corp has ctas going on and I'm like, meh. Lost 7bn in a click. What's the point. A large chunk of that isk was from real money that ended up in plex sold. I have legitimately been frauded of assets worth real money out of my pocket. Marked urgent as 2 of these photos show orders in market now. People are getting hit by this constantly. Eve Echoes is over if not countered.

While I understand you must be upset at your loss, this is not a new mechanic or function within the game, it has been in the original EO for 18+ years and in EE since it's release. This is part of Eve as much as it's part of real life, every member must validate their contracts or Market purchases before pressing the buy button. Yes, players get upset when the get swindled because it makes them feel bad that they fell for the scam, but it in no way is considered wrong or illegal as it's legitimately part of the Eve game as much as combat is.

This is the #1020545957051506799 channel, this post in no way resembles any asking of help or any question. It would be better to use this channel for it's designated purpose, asking for help, not venting anguish over making a mistake in game.

Hopefully you can learn from your mistakes and you will not have to feel this way again, just like in real life we learn and grow from our mistakes, making us better and wiser people. It's how we deal with our mistakes that determines our character. If you fall down you can dust yourself off and keep moving forward or stay down wallowing in misery, the choice is yours.

i think price is already sorted from cheapest to more expensive, and theres also warning before buying if its much higher than usual market price

The market has failsafes if you attempt to buy something that is more expensive then the cheapest available one, so this scam is impossible, unless you manually place a buy order for an insane amount, which then equates to user error I'm afraid.

I have been personally scammed the same way... The game warning did not work as well.. I filed a ticket and CS did nothing to support fair active players who support the game and play fair..
