Hi-hi! Huge fan of this game-- I'm coming from Switch, since the custom track community just seems incredible, and that doesn't sound like a possibility for the Switch. On the Switch, I really enjoy playing 4-player mode with all my fAmily-- it's one of the few rhythm games that everyone seems to be able to get into.
We use Joy-Cons on Switch, so I'm happy to see there's Joy-Con support which allows for the awesome Rumble feedback on each note hit. However, I haven't had any luck getting any of my controllers to work together in a multiplayer match, Joy-Con, 8BitDo Pro 2, or generic SDL2. They all function separately while trying to select players on the menu, but they all end up paired to one player in a multiplayer match. So far, the only type of multiplayer match that works is having a controller on one player, and a keyboard or mouse on another.
I'm on an M1 macOS running Monterey (I also tried all this on an Intel macOS running Ventura -- as well as Parallels running Windows 11 ARM, all with the same results), and I have Steam Input turned on. If I don't have it turned on, none of my controllers work at all.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_o3Wo8eNSA&t=0 <-- Here's a video I made demonstrating the issues I've experienced trying 2P, 3P, and 4P. I tried my 8BitDo Pro 2 controller in all four controller modes, no change. It seems like the only things that count as a controller, in the end, are Mouse, Keyboard, and all the controllers I plug in, just as one giant conglomerate... in-spite of registering separately on the player-choosing menu.
Thank you so much for your Time, and for this incredible game!
... That's a bunch of malarkey!
