#Make track speed a multiplier

From a user perspective it's much easier to go "I wish the speed was around 1.5x faster" rather than "The default track speed for this difficulty is too slow/fast let me figure out which number from 20-60 corresponds with what I want"

i think it works great as it is currently

Mm, I feel like the ability to adjust track speed override wth the immediate feedback on the side is enough for me to find and have a track speed that fits me

torpid fractal
#

The way the setting is presented currently is also confusing in the sense that the range of values being from 10-60 implies some associated unit, but that's not displayed to the user

#

Also the difficulties each have existing default track speeds which means if I have a comfortable track speed for expert I may need to chance it when switching to XD

#

Most other rhythm games have it as a multiplier for this reason

indigo yoke

how do you determine what's 1.0?

torpid fractal
#

1.0 would be the default speed for each difficulty

#

am i misremembering or did pre-1.0 have labels for which difficulty was which track speed?

indigo yoke

I'd rather have the track speed override apply to every difficulty rather than needing to adjust per difficulty

#

if that's what you mean

torpid fractal
#

the current behavior is that track speed override applies same speed to all difficulties, right

indigo yoke
#

correct

#

and it's worked this way since its introduction

torpid fractal
#

but the difficulties have their own default speeds because different speeds work better for different difficulties

indigo yoke
#

it did have the labels to tell you which TSO values were the default speed per difficulty

torpid fractal
#

so with the current system of applying the same speed to all difficulties you would in face have to adjust track speed per-difficulty

mmm I don't understand that logic, personally. I'd rather play on the same track speed no matter what difficulty I'm currently playing on.

#

my track speed helps with my accuracy, because it helps with reducing my anticipation of the notes and hitting early

torpid fractal
#

Can you remind me of the default speeds real quick so I can explain my use case better

Actually

#

@indigo yoke I've realized what I'm actually complaining about

#

can u archive this thread I'll make a new one

not being able to change speed in-game?
