Any word from SNK on matchmaking? Heard this is where they check for feedback and was directed to post here. It’s been really terrible for me since launch and even though it’s my favorite fighter mechanically right now the absurd wait times made me walk away feeling like I got falsely advertised a decent online experience and had wasted my money. I have tried to contact SNK through all other avenues including the survey from however many months ago, and I have tried it after every single patch in case it had gotten any better.

I have also tried on the PS4 and PS5 versions in addition to PC. I am wired, have a well above average internet connection, and live an hour away from a major US city, yet was getting matched with people in other countries after 25 minute queue times. I would just like the basic online functionality I was advertised so I can play a game I would otherwise love

All we know rn as per KK and interviews from a bit ago, is that mm issues are still on their radar and require addressing, however they've been careful about sweeping netcode changes as several prior fixes ended up having the opposite effect when pushed live

#

It's happening, we just don't have any specifics on when and how rn

exactly same issues that outatime has. I just gave up playing and been waiting for updates regarding the state of the game.

its same looks like the company that made the online for the game asked snk for more money to fix and snk said no and snk dont know how fix it themself

# left sorrel Gonna need source on that if possible.

there is no source 😅
because from what we know SNK made the online themselves , consultation from Codemystics (prolly on rollback) and maybe technical support from Epic game regarding EOS
but what zerocann0n is his own speculation/story he made up

Pretty sure Oda said that the netcode was in-house

#

They were probably consultants

They didn't develop the netcode entirely by themselves, but they were a contributor

#

CM on the other hand, entirely a consultancy role

#

Also HUGE portions of XV were outsourced in general

#

SNK made use of iirc 31 different support studios

#

In some capacity or another

  1. SNK is mass hiring now
  2. way too much inconsistency in some stuff internally

SNK should’ve delayed the game…

#

That’s way too much outsourcing

#

They’re fixing other people’s code

To be fair, as a (not SNK) programmer, you are ALWAYS fixing other people's code 😛

also, it says they did the "netcode" not the match making

#

i wouldn't lay blame on support studios if we don't actually know who did what
