There's also people from Viet Nam who also plays Touhou LW, but sometimes is hard to translate some of the dialogues, it would be a nice addition to the game, cause it helps people who do not read English or speak Japanese.

more fitting title would be localization for the game. i would say that this will arise some problem which is they will need to hire translator for the game and also A LOT of check if some features would break (if that ever happens) bcs for a game like lostword quality for the translation is necessary: you don't just throw everything into a translation site then just pile all of them back in-game bcs rather leave it english only than a bruh quality translation. besides even though they do allow suggestion for the game but it doesnt mean they are very open to community-run development for the game so which means leaving this part for the community isnt really a possible solution as of now until they made a decision to change it - reporting translation issue all everytime you find something bad would be too much of a hassle. also believe me translation isnt as easy as you think

I have to add on to this that depending on the way specific software's made, the more or less time you spend (other than the translation process itself, obviously) is determined also by the way string texts were implemented&grabbed out of a specific place they store them. Hopefully they took the more consistent route for such purposes

Agree, as a Vietnamese translator for a Roblox game company keeping it in English might be better. There are many words that have weird meanings when translated to Vietnamese.

also lets take a example. some translator that is hired which doesnt know anything of touhou will, yeah yknow. example that Gensokyo is translated into Phantasia for the remade dankag

Yes, the amount of content, texts added to this game every maintenance is really huge, and translators are like us, they're humans and cannot finish the huge amount of work with high quality in 1-2 weeks. Once more, all of the players here have some knowledge about English, if they don't know anything, can they play the game? Adding an additional language to this game might be cool but it needs to have time, translator team, money and might have disadvantage. I'd rather see a Vietnamese chat than the entire translation for the game.

there are so many maintenances that's true, most of the gachas (hell, any games for that matter) receive at most a monthly maintenance, this one is like quite often

also aside from that talking about VI translation in specific. VI is a lot more complex in very simple thing like "you-me-I" that needs a very precise usage depending on many things because in VI its separated into many different kinds depending on age gap, realationship and such (special case does exist). like funny thing lets call Yukari "bà" (granny or something like that) and Reimu "cháu". that would be a very laughable moment while for the fanbase "ta-ngươi" is more commonly used between these two because for this special case age won't really matter

Agree lol

That sounds like a funny case

I pretty much want to see a Vietnamese chat bth

i would just rather also wait for a vi chat or just fanmade translation that a official one

#

bcs its rather embarassing if the quality for the translation is bad then the whole game in general will become a meme for the specific community of that language (talking about localization in general)

Pretty agree, sometimes I laugh at my own translation for a game on Roblox.

also idk if bringing this up is allowed but lostword isnt even that appealing to the eyes of many VI players and its already being taken out to be crticize and become a meme for the VI community idk. so if the translation turns out terrible then it would only make the situation worse

#

regardless to say the amount of VI players is still small so it is not worth it to digging into making translation

#

and the game has been on for at least 2-3 years by now and since then many things has been released so starting all over and to follow up to the current contents will be very difficult

This game is extremely text heavy so making a translation for any language would be unfeasible unless you are willing to foot the bill for it
Somehow this is a point I don't see being brought up much in these "localization/language suggestions"

#

They're barely keeping up with the translations for global
What makes ANYONE think another language would be a good idea

More than translate the game into Vietnamese, it would require localization (not only translate but also adapt words to the language to make it friendly to the locals, since some English words and that stuff sometimes have unexpected results when translated to another language) that and changing words cause a word in English can be short but translated becomes longer and that could mess up the menus.
