That just feels like complete overkill when you consider all banners have either a unit or card to exchange for, and sometimes both. The entire gacha system is built around using the exchange system, so the only reason you should have spare exchange points on a banner is from a 60gc pull (which is already more than rewarding enough), daily pulls (which you don't actually need to do as a ritual can substitute for the daily pull) and pulling the unit before pity. I don't feel there is any reason to further reward players for pulling a unit before pity considering they are already saving pulls they would otherwise have needed to do

It’s underwhelming but it’s there, you get spirit points for it.
