I personally like Pacman as the package manager, KDE as my DE, a good one is DNF which Fedora based systems use. Personally I hate apt with a passion 😄

Must be a KDE issue, mine is fine and dandy. Never had a problem unless I'm dealing with a multi monitor setup where it occasionally opens on a wrong monitor, but switching to Wayland a couple months ago seemed to fix that issue.

If it works, you keep using it but also pray to whatever diety of your choosing at least 5 times a day.

It's most likely the widgets, I messed mine up setting up the audio visualizer. Completely removing that fixed it for me.

Never use is unless to accidentally open in the middle of a game. So it's nuked on my end, couldn't be bothered to change the keybinds.

good cpu tho, i run the 7950x 16 core in my personal machine. would consider upgrading soon tho as i do feel it hitting its limits sometimes.

but it is 2017 or 16 cpu

probably just many radiators, an array of fans per radiator. The Ryzen 9 CPUs can get pretty hot and using such a large array of radiators and fans surely allows the fans to run very low rpm while maintaining a good coolant temp.

whereas if u had less radiators, ud need more fan rpm (louder) to get the same consistency on temps.

Got coreboot on my lenovo t60

It was a not so fun 12 ish hours of effort cause the documentation is pretty much non existent

i did a fresh install, CachyOS
was troubleshooting for frame drops
couldn't figure out if i forgor an optimization
revisiting sched-ext tut on cachyos.org, i found a new entry: scx_cake (mmm! cake! )
it has tiered scheduling, and disables smt in the default config, so all i have to do is type sudo scx_cake
i swapped over from scx_bpfland and the frames are steady (even when they're low)
it also seemed (user perceived) more stable under higher load, i.e. when in a 8/8 pop server (previously, has been an unstable 18 fps, but has become more stable)

edit: just realizing people will be curious what potato i'm running with 18 fps on 8/8
i5-8400 - gtx1060 6gb - 16gb ddr4 - cachy is default kernel etc (aside some optimizations, as suggested in their docs)
the game usually runs 70 - 100 fps on servers up to 5 players, after that i get about 20 fps drop per player. at 8 i get 18-25 fps
