My current PC (listed below) might seem good to some people, average to others, or even bad to a few—but that’s not the point. What matters is that I want to upgrade it. No matter how good my system is overall, my CPU is bottlenecking my GPU because I play at 1080p with max settings and DLSS on Quality.

It’s not like I get bad FPS—I actually get good performance—but it could be better. That got me thinking: an RTX 5070 Ti costs about the same as upgrading to a new platform, which would include something like a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, a higher-end B850 motherboard, a new case (since the motherboard would be black), and 32GB of DDR5-6000 CL36 RAM.

So here’s my situation:

If I keep my RTX 5070 and upgrade to the new platform, I’d likely see a noticeable FPS increase—maybe around a 30 FPS average gain across many games—while keeping the same settings.
On the other hand, if I buy an RTX 5070 Ti instead, I could get similar (or close) FPS at higher resolutions, and in some games even better performance at the same settings I currently use with my RTX 5070.

So I’m trying to decide:

A. Upgrade to a new platform for roughly the same cost as an RTX 5070 Ti
B. Buy an RTX 5070 Ti instead for roughly the same price
