Rertry again sometimes its normal you get socket close code 3 error but if it does not work now its an issue with the firewall on your server itself on the dashboard

Try opening your command prompt (a new window of it)
And type ping 49.232.153.137
If it shows a reply, your issue is with BeamMP. If there is no reply, there’s an issue with your connection.

It’s one of those VPN network thingies.
Basically you create a zerotier network, you download their client on any devices you need it on, up to 10, and use the IP it gives you. Usually a 10.xx.xx one.

if you want people to join from outside first thing to do is port forwarding. I'd start with this because its also the hardest part
if youre not able to do it then the rest is for nothing, then you always can buy a server for 2-3usd (or more? I dont know the current prices) from one of the !partners

I dont know how much you know about game servers and stuff, but if you dont find one for AU/NZ and your friends come from that area, it`s probably worth looking into port forwarding and hosting it at home instead of buying one on another continent and having bad pings

As that's a very very broad term
i mean custom scripts and custom cars and maps etc last time i had beef with firezilla since i could only put in simple mods and not the ones i really wanted
i mean when i rented a server trough a site im not gona mention they got me a filezilla ip etc to config i just dont want that stuff again

Not portforward ,the firewall allowing ports UDP and TCP thats what i had before with a friend he didnt saw me moving but the other friend did see me moving so that was the problem he didn't allow the ports in his firewall
no i've set it up through firewall for both udp and tcp so i have 2 setup one udp one tcp for the server.exe it self on any ports then i have one thats the port's themself 30815 udp and tcp also within config i have it set to 30815 so the firewall should be good

Hello community ^^ ! For the past week, my friend and I, have been encountering a problem that I haven't been able to fix in vain. We have the error 10038 on our respective beam mp client cmd when connecting to my server hosted on a computer at my place. This also happens when I try to connect to other public Beam servers.
After countless searches on potential causes and numerous attempts to fix the issue, I am desperate and would like to have additional leads or help with my problem, having also noticed that other players are encountering the error for no reason.
To summarize what I have tested, here is what I found most relevant according to me: I reinstalled the game, the server, Beam MP on the client side, several times, checked and tested different configurations on all firewalls (server, internet box, client), even sometimes disabling everything, to no avail. I also cleared the cache and the user folder of my game. I checked that the server and client were not communicating only with an IPv6, but with both, IPv4 and IPv6. I also removed all traces of mods from the game's mod folders and on the server, to avoid any risk of issues related to them on both sides. I also tested other things, but these are things where the presence of the cause of our error seems very unlikely to me, and especially because it was recommended to me by AIs... XD.
Here is all the information I have:

It's a server hosted at my place under Linux with Ubuntu 24.04 server build installed and with the latest version, all dependencies and the system up to date, with a firewall configured as follows: (Inputs: deny except for current rules / Outputs: Allow All) with a TCP/UDP rule valid in ipv4 and ipv6: (Allow incoming, from any IP and any port, to any IP and port 30814) (Having set "Allow" on outgoing requests, I estimate that all necessary outgoing traffic for the server is working). Regarding what happens when my friend and I connect, we notice that we manage to retrieve all the mods on the server, we can load and enter the correct map, the queued events worked (for example, when we changed cars), but the synchronization between players was non-existent (position, damage). Also, the serverconfig.toml file is up to standard, with a brand new authentication key. (To clarify, the problem occurred before the servers were brought back online for the keys to make my server public. I had hoped that this would help to make my server public again, but no)

On the side of my internet box, I configured the local IP of my server as static and added in NAT/PAT section a port authorization rule in the box firewall on port 30814 for both inbound and outbound traffic, on the IP address of my server.

On my side and my friend's, we are on up-to-date Windows 11, with the Beam MP launcher properly installed. To clarify, in addition to the error message 10038, we are encountering two warnings:

Could this have an impact on our error?

have you altered the IP entry in the ServerConfig.toml

Technically, the game doesn't freeze or crash; everything works except for the synchronization between us regarding the position and the damage on the cars. We can see each other, but the other person's car remains stuck at its spawn point at the start.
Also me, (I specify that the server is on my local network), all the data like the number of players, pings, appear. For my friend (who is not on my local network)

I think I found the problem, strangely, currently people I don't know are joining the server and the synchronization is working. I think it comes from my friend, he is on a cracked version of the game under 0.38.2. And I think that with the latest update of BeamNG, which went to version 0.38.5, it broke the synchronization.
Desync is probably an issue with UDP traffic, assuming you both are using no other mods besides BeamMP

This may not be the case if you have position sync with additional players
Having ping also means you should have UDP as well, so
Before, on version 0.38.4 on my side, and still on version 0.38.2 on their side, the changes with the updates were minimal and it didn't break the synchronization, but in the 0.38.5 update they changed some things in the audio, elements that are common and vital to all players. I suspect it must have broken. Moreover, this issue had already happened to us before, I'm silly for not having thot of it ^^. Thank you very much for all your advice and information, I will retest with him tonight to confirm this hypothesis. I will come back to give updates here when I know more!

hey I'm having an issue with d sync on my beam server. i am using connect hosting and whenever i use the mods i want to use it gives me a out of date error in the console and an "lau" error in game anyone have any experience with this.

isn't that an issue with a modded vehicle? and if they're playing on a server, then I dont think clearing the userfolder is particularly useful because that mod is likely downloaded from the server
just by guessing based off of the description of the Lua error it may be an issue with the mod itself
I said this earlier and I'll say it again; I don't think clearing the whole userfolder is the right tool for the job, and a result of that is it's going to cause more of a headache for the user. clarifying questions should be asked imo
