Hello people, I got a question cause I havent talked with Athena in like a long time, she was the first deity I talked to but like, I started talking with a friend about some of her stories with mortals and I kinda said that she was in the wrong some times, like with Arachne and Medusa, so I think thats why she stopped like being present with me so yeah, if anyone knows something and could help me a bit I would be thankful

I mean there are different versions of the myths. In the original Greek myth, Medusa was always a Gorgon, and there's another version of Arachne's myth where heer being turned into a spider was a gift rather than a curse

Also the gods are much better at taking criticism than I think a lot of people give them credit for. Valid criticism is not the same thing as hubris which they have been known to get upset over. But hubris tends to be stuff like comparing yourself or others to them

Deities come and go and if it's something you're really worried about, my best suggestion is to just talk to her about it

I’m still a baby witch, so I don’t have much experience. But I do know that in the resources section there are different tarot layouts to help with that if you want to go that route. And from what I understand (and I could be wrong) about pendulums, they usually have a little tray you hold them over with “yes”, “no” “maybe on it and you hold the pendulum over it and ask your questions. Can be less specific than tarot, but more simple answers.

The pendulum can swing/sway towards the answer your deity is trying to give you

How to: Pendulums for Beginners by oceanicegg
Okay so pendulums!
You'll want to cleanse it first. My preferred method of this is tap it three times in the center of the area over where I'll be using it then letting it sway over smoke while just kinda chatting with it. I tell it about what I'm wanting to talk to it about and thank it for it's help. I avoid questions while cleansing though.
Once I feel nice and in sync with my pendulum, I ask it what direction means what. The way I do this is by asking "How will you move for yes?" "How will you move for no?" "How will you move for maybe?" "How will you move for unwilling to answer?".
Once my directions are assigned, I start my questions.
When I'm done with my questions, I tell my pendulum I'm done, say goodbye, and tap it three times in the same place I did at the start.

Before starting I always like to write down my questions beforehand in my divination notebook and then make notes of the answers and such as I go. I never stick to it completely, but it helps me stay organized and keep in the right mentality.

While using it I always sit cross legged and prop my elbow on my knee to help me stay steady.

sodalite is a solid option but if you don't have it you can also use what you have.

my favorite thing about witchcraft is that it's made up of the sum of its parts and a lot of those parts end up being what you have available my first rule of thumb when introducing new witches is letting them know that you do not need expensive tools or decks or crystals in order to have a proper practice painting a rock you find outside blue in order to represent a Blue Rock for your God is enough in that you're using what you have in order to make offerings or do magic

hell I mean if you have an Uno deck lying around you could use that for divination

don't be afraid of experimenting and figuring out what works for you

so a thing with Hades is that he isn't really like the main character in pretty much any myth he just kind of is like a side character.

this is because people in ancient Greece did not like to think about death or really talk about it and as the ruler of the underworld they weren't exactly trying to get his attention so there aren't many myths where he acts as a sort of main character.

even within one of his most famous which would be the Persephone myth that one at its core is about Persephone and Demeter not really about Hades all that much.

Oh I 100% agree. I knew nothing prior but my friend told me I have similar quirks about me that Hades attracts or is all about she said, and she said that Hade's wanted me to be mentored by her.

I am still very new but a lot of the stuff that had been shown in her cards for me as well and being visited by him sligtly because I had meditated and followed her instruction and fully immersed myself to be willing to communicate was one of the reasons why she told me he had left where she was and came to my space after he asked me if I would let him, and I felt him here.

It was very overwhleming for me cause it was strong but only because I had trusted my friend and did everything ful hearted wanting to learn, and underestand why the worrld is the way that it is and speak and coommunicate with the other side.

but I'm stilll so new I didn't know I was doing something wrong, which is why I mentioned the shrrine thing but not even sure if that was needed after the experience. I've been nervous and didn't want to do something I wasn't suppose to do if I tried, so I've just tried to keep practicing meditation and readings.

Hello. I am very new to dieties. I have always been drawn to Hades. Since I was a little girl I've always seen a tall slender man in a leather jacket, and a hat. This can range from biker jackets to plain brown leather jackets with fur, and the hats can be anything from a fedora to a cowboy hat.

I almost never see his face but when I do it almost always resembles a sickly pale man, or a skull. If he is human, he has long dark hair. If he is deathly, he has shoulder length hair.

He is mostly seen at night. He shows up in dreams and has a calming, yet unbothered presence.

I have suspected Hades for a long time, as I would always find coins / deceased bugs or bones. If I am outside ants love to walk around me and if I am barefoot they climb onto my feet.

Any advice is much appreciated. I am atheistic, but I am definitely open to accepting or leaning into the possibility that he may reach out. Thanks.

So most of the stuff I usually offer for Aphrodite are sea shells that I get from my beach trips, sometimes I offer some of my own jewelry and from what I've read on tumblrs that worship Aphrodite is that acts of self-love or passing love onto others such as buying food for those who can't afford it can work as an offering, hell, even doing something that brings you joy and love or reading more about her is enough.

hm i would check to see if there is any way you could be influencing the candle. things like sitting too close can cause your breathing to make air currents that influence how a candles flame works.
there are also things like wick length, debris in the wax, or drafts in your room that can do similar things

if you have no drafts and you're not sitting like 3 ft away from the candle shouting your questions then it flickering shouldn't really be happening unless it's not getting enough oxygen because of where it's at

so it is possible to make an altar that's more generalized and for whoever is included in your practice.

as for one made for any that can come and go the only issue I might say you would run into that is that you are then opening yourself and your space to allowing pretty much anything to enter including things with bad intentions.

I would say that it might be like a neon sign of hi anybody is welcome no matter your intention. unless you make that something you end up specifying.

I mean it is possible but I would maybe say take a lot of precautions if you're planning on doing so

and you might run into the issue of not all gods wanting to share the same space and thus needing individual alters but that comes with communication and active relationships with those gods that you can then expand upon

it could be but you would have to be very specific about what you intend to allow in.
because leaving a door open for pretty much an open house is going to bring in a lot of entities in which you may not be comfortable with

if you're from a specific religion or you would like to not interact with the specific set of religious entities that's also something you might need to specify

on this I'm talking about angels or demons, specific deities or entities that hold domain over a specific subject matter, etc

you also have to keep in mind the second part of what I was saying and that not all deities will be comfortable sharing the same altar space as other deities for whatever reason so if your really hoping for say () deity, they may not interact because of their need for alone space

there are lists though of things like general offerings like: water, milk, bread those tend to be pretty Universal across various cultures

some folks have other skills like clairvoyance, clairaudience, etc and use those
others communicate via dreams and others still use astral travel to speak with them

some do have the skills to hear them/sense them that they then pair with other skills like divination

for example i have claircognizance meaning i can clearly know things so i use divination as a main method then build off that method with my other skill. or if i have an interaction i can clearly know how my deity wants me to interpret that. so i dont have "convos" so much as i have interactions that i then interpret. (ie: me making a mistake and their cup being full the next day can mean they dont approve of the actions i took)

(their cup would still have stuff in it the next day reguardless but it wouldnt have gone down at all)

so when i say im "talking" to them im sort of exaggerating the interaction to make it more understandable for an audiance

yeah for me i hear them and see the messages in my mind / minds eye mostly and use external factors to confirm it. like I’ll receive a message through clairaudience, and then immediately will see an angel number that aligns with it to confirm.

in terms of what it’s like,,, it depends! lol for me it’s like a mentorship and having multiple guides that play a role within my life, sometimes it’s fun and sometimes it’s like having a parent scold at you for doing something you shouldn’t have, and then followed up with a random consequence. but everyone’s relationships with their guides / deities / ancestors is different, so it’ll just depend on how that would unfold for you. but to summarize, communicating with them is always enlightening in some capacity

so there's a difference between worshipping and working with a deity, if you wanted to work with one I would suggest building a relationship with one first via worshipping or honoring them. also I recommend looking into the mythos and lore of whoever you're interested in

worshipping would just be honoring them in some way, while working with them would be to have a mutual relationship with them in some way. they would have to agree to work with you first

I mean it's mostly just that you get the satisfaction of worshipping a deity and doing something with your beliefs, also I have the no ping role

• pretty self explainitory: through learning skills! this can be mundane or magical ones but skills none the less

I've tried working with her, not sure how successful I am. She first came to me during the transit of fixed Star Algol in Taurus season. Fixed Star Algol is Medusa's head in the Perseus constellation. Just researching Algol again, it is associated with diamonds, the black hellabore flower and mugwort herb. Additionally, I would also give Medusa snake symbols, miniature stone statues, and pegasus figurines. I feel rattles that symbolize rattlesnakes would possibly be appreciated. And I would avoid symbols of Athena such as helmets, shields, owls, olives. And I would avoid mirrors because of Perseus. Hope this helps. I would love to hear about your experiences with her.

imo when it comes to working w her, it also boils down to authenticity. so I think coming up with your own prayer that is short and sweet may be the key here, that way she can sense that you’re truly communicating to her from a place of authenticity and appreciation for her energy! /gen I have done both and seen that when I am more genuine versus reading off a prayer that was pre-written, I am able to connect with her a lot better
