there's not really much that is a difference except that you would probably use more Catholic kinds of worship instead of like traditionally pagan ones.
So like prayer in the Christian way, maybe getting a saint statue, things like that

I'm not trying to tell you what to do, it's your practice, but understand that it's much better and much safer to do go ahead and vet this spirit than just taking their word for who they are. Spirit have the ability to lie.

I usually use sigils to get deities to help with more material knowledge, with the notable consequence that you kinda have to be careful you don't give them too much control.

It's not them being sneaky, it's them needing clear communication from you. There are some deities that may intentionally push your boundaries in order to get you to be better about enforcing them, but if an entity is crossing lines it may be time to reconsider your relationship with them

As for where to start with deities we have a ton of #1114061636744007720 (at the top are more general looking for deities), a lot of folks see signs in the form of animals or weather and go with those associations. In this case maybe the sun is that sign, whatever it may be there's a deity for it. Folks also go off of what they're known for (ie seeking love or beauty may go to Aphrodite, those who like mischief may be drawn to Loki etc) or if they feel connected to any particular mythos (ex. while not a deity many relate to the story of Medusa)

There's many pantheons to look through each with their own structures and plenty of mythos to find someone you connect with. Greek and Roman for example have gods & goddesses but also titans, deified heros and other important figures. Kemetic (ancient Egypt) and Norse go so far back you can find many different interpretations of their myths and ways society at those times worshipped them. And I could continue but in short if no particular names call to you just going through a Wikipedia list page and seeing what you find is a good start.

So i have like altars for Aphrodite and Hades and I think it was two or so days ago, I made an offering to Hades and I gave him some pomegranate seeds and the interesting thing about it is that immediately after I offered the seeds like a few mins later, I kept on hearing 'Persephone' repeatedly in my head and also angel numbers and if I recall correctly, I read this somewhere that if a deity liked your offering, they send signs like angel numbers and stuff

Long story short, apparently Lucifer has been trying to reach out to me for a while and I hadn't noticed.
I knew there was an entity nearby recently (since the start of the new year) but I was so busy and didn't sit down to fully notice the energy. I assumed it was a deity I already worshipped. A more experienced friend of mine did a reading for me (on my request) about where I can make progress in my life because I feel stuck, and he came into the reading with a lot of energy. She didn't work with him so it was odd, and after further questions, she figured out he'd been attempting to reach out but I had not been paying attention.
I have no clue where to begin, especially for a being outside of the pantheon i normally work with. I saw a resource sheet but where should I look for more information? Where should I start? I'm just really overwhelmed and this feels different than when I started setting up altars for Anubis and Set, as those relationships are built more on worship versus work. Any help would be very much appreciated!

I've been knowing the upper power (and below power) for a couple of months, I think about a year, I honestly forgot lol. But growing up we would just pray, and then expect not a word back. But since I started talking to the people I can't see. It's been going great! Okay I think something happened last night here that might be related to the deities

I had a dream? A nightmare? idk I'm not sure which exactly.
But basically like I was in Rome but like there was this giant lake, and in the lake were like several sort of lake islands dotted around. I was one like a moderate sized one of these islands and it had a huge tree on it. Like a giant willow tree or something like that. It was nighttime and there was like a really good view all around of like the city lights and it was really pretty. And then there was also a meteor shower that started happening that was super visible. It was like lots of different colors for the meteors and they were like slower traveling so you could like see them for several minutes, maybe even 10s of minutes, as they passed by. Then they started landing on the island me and a few other people were on. At least 12 of them landed on that island, and they left these large glowing yellow-ish crystals at the impact points. We were running, trying not to get hit by any of them. And then I hear a voice in my head that I forget what exactly she said but she was like "Do not (something), my child." or "This is not the end, my child." or something along those lines. The voice sounded exactly like the rendition of Nyx from the Hades game.

Could that at all be possibly related to her?

Examine your practice and if you feel settled enough in it to add entity work (this step is the one I think a lot of people miss)

Feel like sharing an experience that I think is pretty cool! I've been doing a ton of research on the mythology behind my deity and as an author, I'm finding a lot of the themes that I wrote and stories of my world actually align really closely with the stories I'm learning of without me knowing them prior. Pretty cool! like I intuitively knew :)

Dunno if anyone else in here is a writer and has had an experience like that? I've had a few times before where I've written things before they happen (probably accidental manifestation with how much I think about my world and book) but only recently discovered I wrote a character with a tale almost identical to Loki's

so I bought a mini bust for lady aphrodite online but also since it's only one bust, I thought to myself, hey why not buy another one? Mind y'alls, the shop only had limited designs and so I opted to buy an apollo one bc why not?

So I've decided to like look up altar ideas for Apollo because I figured since I have a mini figure of him coming in, why not set up a mini altar for him and stuff out of respect.
