Trying to list some knots that could be great for knot magic, ex the slipknot, it holds well but you can easily untie it if needed, then knots like buntline hitch is almost impossible to untie once enough pressure has been put onto it

hello i’ve only ever done mediation/mindful spells where im just thinking about being protected alongside my kalimba but i wanted to create something that would work with me… (i also do intention coffee/tea stirring) (also hi, new witch not sure what im doing)

i was thinking if i could make a some kind of mixture of vanilla, honey, sea salt, moon water, flower petals i would be channeling protection, cleansing, sweetness, healing and then using my crystals for grounding and protection — does that sound right? i’m really drawn to water and plants and im in need of protecting my mental health but also wanting softness and comfort of my day to day. im not sure what i would do next but im drawn to those and i wanted to share! :)

yeah! i think possibly linking similar types of intentions:
cleansing/protection
sweetness/healing
and grounding/protection!

i think overall what you can do is mix these individual things together: the vanilla and honey, the moon water and sea salt and flower petals, and the crystals!

then combine those together! youd kinda be making 2 mini spells, then mixing them, then charging the whole thing with the rocks. but it may be a bit much for a first spell

so ik this was also answered elsewhere but imo it kinda depends on the spell being used.

as i mentioned in the lesson: some spells you want to keep around because of their effects, others are a possible one and done type of situation.

the concept of what makes a spell work is something you decide on pre-making it. it should be a part of the brainstorming process. and if the spell itself doesnt tell you (should you be following a recipie) then you will need to make that decision yourself

also yes! as you mentioned kitchen craft does it a lot

Very late to this party but I used to have this issue a lot and realized I was drawing all the energy for the spell from myself and not replenishing from my surroundings or simply passing the energy through myself. Grounding ahead of time (and root visualizations) can be really helpful and the spell will still have your energy infused in it, you simply won't be left feeling empty.

There are people that will tell you and insist that there are ways that you can and cannot do things but they're wrong.

doing lots of reading of your classes oli, it’s so reassuring to know i’ve done a lot of things correctly! it seems my intuition was right, i have a spell about love (not unhealthy just a reminder of the love i have with my family), a luck spell given to me 2 years ago and now im excited to create a focus-study spell, im starting my masters in september so i need to focus on preparing that spell

If you pay attention to the second image you'd notice that the paper is wet with the candle wax, when it touched the flame it finished to burn with the yarn and making a big flame, that's why now the candle is smaller

Not my words, that's the explanation that my uncle told me because I wasn't there to see it (if I was I'd filmed it)

Hello! Baby witch here! I was almost done burning a spell candle and I was putting herbs together for the next one on the side as the current one was burning. All of a sudden I here a TINK and look over at my candle just in time to see the glass/crystal candle holder that it was in jump like I had bumped it. I couldn't grab it or look closely at it because the candle was still lit and it was still hot. So after it goes out and cools down I look at the holder and it literally BROKE IN HALF?? So hear me out. Does that mean anything or am I freaking out over a possibility cheap piece of glass breaking under heat? (it was a gift). Is that some kind of omen? Is it a bad/good thing? This is the first time I've used this holder and it breaks???

the thing to do imo is to create your own negative energy based on theirs that you can work with directly

it will be very hard to pull the energy from them, and even harder to control. it'd be like painting with a brush held in somebody else's hand

however! you can think really hard about the bad behavior and the concrete ways it's caused you problems and get really really mad or upset or whatever...then transmute that into whatever you need

I have a question on a spell jar I did a month ago. It was to help bring me a job, more specifically one I desired. Now, I did divination before and after/during. I got the magician reversed for if it worked, the moon (I don’t remember the position but I think it was upright?) for what to expect I think, and the empress reversed on a time frame

I understand, the same happened to me too. The magician in reverse can represent that it could have started to work but you need to manifest more, as the magician is a card that represents manifesting. One way I manifest is stating what I want like it’s a fact.

For example, I want to make a certain amount of money in a week, I’ll repeat to myself “I have $100 I have $100” and/or “thank you universe for the $100 you gifted me” even if I don’t have it yet. But it also has to do with your actions :)

I got this one that I use, hope this helps! You can use it for yourself or others. I tried making it easy to follow.

You’ll need:

A piece of jewelry you wear often

Salt water (a pinch of salt in water) or sunlight or moonlight (if you want to skip the water)

Black pepper or clove (optional but adds extra intent)

Steps:

Cleanse the jewelry: Pass it briefly through salt water, or let it sit in sunlight or moonlight for 15–30 minutes. While doing so, focus on clearing old energy.

If using pepper or clove, you can hold it near the item as you speak your intent.

Hold the jewelry and say something like:

For someone else:
“I call on light to guard [Name] today,
Turning harsh words and harm away.
May peace and strength be by their side,
Protected now, in calm they’ll bide.”

For yourself:
“By heart and will, this charm I bless,
To guard my mind from hate’s distress.
Let love and calm within me stay,
And harmful words be turned away.”

Imo no when it comes to protection, but definitely follow your intuition! Some people feel differently but in my eyes, protection is always good to have regardless of how the person feels about it. An example I like to think of is if there’s a robber and they’re out to get a victim, the method in which the robber is gotten rid of doesn’t matter as long as the victim is protected

hey guys i did a love binding spell yesterday and something weird happened towards the end and i don't know how to interpret it. so basically what happened first throughout the whole thing is that their flame and my flame were very much in sync, both flames very bright and stuff. everything seemed to be normal until the end. the spell took longer than expected and towards the end a third flame formed. his flame was the first to go out, mine the second and the third mysterious flame took several hours and just wouldn't go out. i had to blow it out manually because i got kinda scared that im gonna burn down my house if i keep letting it burn.
there is a whole situation happening as to why it could've happened and i'm happy to explain further but i'm asking for help rn because i really don't know how to interpret said 3rd flame.

That really just depends on individual belief tbh! Imo yes it definitely can be. The method in how people cast spells is really dependent on what their practices are (religion, spiritual path, etc) and what they individually feel is best. Some people don’t do well with tools and go full ham on meditations, some people prefer only tools, and then there’s the whole thing about what kinds of tools. If you’re asking for yourself because maybe you don’t have a ton of access to different herbs / candles / whatever, I’d say just keep trying and see what works best for you!

Individual magic and our own spiritual prowess also has a lot to do with our shadow work and what we believe about ourselves. So as you develop yourself, emotionally and spiritually, your magic will also be more effective imo!

If you’ve already ruled out the mundane things, like extra herbs catching on fire, I’d personally interpret a third flame as a third party intervention. Whether it’s another person that you don’t know is in the picture, or whether it’s actually an external spiritual force that’s intervening. If you have access to a reader or can do your own divination, would definitely try that and see what answers you might find!

Straw Into Gold- A Spell To Bring Abundance/Wealth

Intent:

To bring wealth to the caster.

Ideal Timing:

Waxing or Full Moon

Materials:

• Small glass jar
• Empty thread bobbins or spools
• Yellow or golden embroidery floss
• Green or gold chime candle
• Optional: Amber or orange oil

Method:

Most sewing or craft stores will sell empty spools or bobbins for sewing machines. Acquire three such spools or bobbins and enough yellow embroidery floss or sport-weight yarn to fill them.

After sundown, light a candle (yellow or green is ideal, but white works also) and sit down with the bobbins and floss. Focus on the candle flame and think of the way in which you would like abundance to come into your life.

Once you have the idea firmly in mind, begin winding the floss slowly around the bobbin and continue until it is full. Repeat until you have filled all three bobbins, then blow out the candle.

Anoint the three bobbins with orange or amber oil. Place them into a small jar and leave it somewhere it will not be disturbed. If the desired wealth does not come into your life within three months, or if you need more abundance, repeat the spell and add the three new bobbins to the jar.

I wouldn't suggest doing spellwork to influence other people, if you aren't aware of the consequences/ or information that the spell requires.

The main issue is that with cord cuttings, at least one of the people involved have to be notified because the whole point of a cord cutting is to physically and spiritually remove that person from your life. which means that those two people cannot have contact, or else it reestablishes, that spiritual connection, that you've just cut meaning you did all of that work for nothing.

Mundanely:
The candle curling and the flame splitting into two could both be caused by mundane things: the wax, getting hotter than the wick, has burned can cause wicks to fall.
And since you dressed the outside of the candle, when the flame gets low enough to catch that stuff on fire, it might migrate so you have two flames

magically:
I'm not sure about the wick falling.I honestly would probably relate that to being a mundane thing. but the double might mean that you have outside protection as well as personal protections

okay gotcha! thats solid! i just wanna be sure your not just throwing random things around and did put some thought into why your adding what you are.

since you added soil to the spell there is already a connection to the earth! as someone that generally dislikes using fire i often will bury my spells/parts of it to activate instead of burning (or use another element like air or water). as for why your bay leaf wouldnt burn, sometimes bay leaves are realllly funky and are hard to light (its why i use paper over bay leaves)

idk that you did anything wrong or that your spell is going to go bad, it might just be that your bay leaf was a funky one that wouldnt light

late reply sorry im at work 😭 i used a thrifted apple shaped tin ash tray since it had a lid (closeted witch tip lol), and i filled it with himalayan salt as the base to protect and secure my manifestations, added essential oils like cinnamon and mint, i tossed in coins, a cinnamon stick, cloves, basil, sugar, and a bunch of other ingredients that symbolized my desired manifestations. after that, i wrote some intentions, manifestations, and tucked them into the bowl, as well as burning some bay leaves ^^

Not only is it intense, but generally, if you don't know what you're doing, you are very likely to have yourself spellwork backfire. And love spells specifically fall into an area in which you are manipulating somebody else's free will in order to gain something that you want. specifically in this case "love".

This is a type of magic where you need to know your basics, you need to be able to accurately determine whether or not this is spellwork you should even be doing, and overall you need to know how spells work outside of including others!

I did a freezer spell early in the year and feel it has served its purpose. I know many say to discard them you should either dispose of it in a body of water or bury it, but I don't want to pollute the water near me and as for burying I'd rather not keep this energy near me or my home, just a personal preference. When working with tea lights, you should really never put anything on the top of them. Always lift it up and put it underneath or put it around it on the plate.

But because of how short a tea light candles wick is, it's not safe at all for you to be sprinkling flammable herbs and stuff around at the top of the candle.

I would also never recommend leaving a candle, especially one with that much stuff on it

This is what I did when I was starting out yrs ago.

1. Grab a white tea light
2. Pull it out of its little tin holder
3. Sprinkle white salt in the tin
4. Write on a piece of paper whatever you want protected
   ( I usually wrote … “protect my home, protect my energy and my space” )
5. Fold the paper and put it in the tin
6. Put the candle in the tin ( on top of the paper and salt ) and light it
7. Continue to say what you want protected. I usually say it a handful of times then leave it be but still watch it

This is a protection spell
• pink candle (i know that usually it's used white or black, but I don't have any and I think that pink is a good idea since I'm doing things before some glamour and love spells.)
Incense, rosemary, bay leaf (written "I am protected") and salt+egg shells for protection. My personal sigil I use for banishing work

I first put the candle on the center of my table and put all my herbs around it. then I light the some incense while I visualise it's smoke cleansing me out from any bad intention/energy.
I then light my candle and visualize a pink light ball forming around me, with the intention of protecting my space. Then, I put my sigil under the candle, reading it out loud giving it my energy.
For the last step, I thank the light who has been protecting me and closing the circle!

so it can largely depend on what kind of spells you did!

if they are primarily candle spells you can repurpose the old wax, if they are primarily herbs you can regift/bury them to the earth as a means of thanks (as long as they are safe to be regifted/buried (ie no salt)), if they are paper based you can burn them up and use the ashes in black salt, if its (edible) oil or food based you can eat them, and soooo much more.

imo the tools you use are a catalyst for the spell, meaning that no matter what you do to the tools after, that energy is already out there in the world

this is why a lot of folks tell you to be sure you want to do specific work (mainly baneful), bc even if you do work to reverse it, the effects youve done are still out there

imo getting rid of, repurposing, or returning ingredients dont hinder any work youve done so long as you have closed out your spell and are okay with letting it rest

Because it's the bark of a tree, it's a lot tougher than, say the leaves or the softer inside of the tree (palo santo in this case) so it's a lot more difficult to burn!

so i usually use candle wax to seal my spell jars. it kind of finishes the spell in my eyes if that makes sense? seals the intentions in. i'd remove that wax (or try your best to, i know it was a hassle for me LOL) so that the spell is perhaps able to be modified or repurposed. i'd maybe use some salt or moonwater or smth (idk which would be better lol) to void the previous intentions. set new intentions, maybe write a little note to pop in if you have room, and seal it with new wax

I usually use resycled glassbottles for my spells! I live alone and clean things like salsa jars, pickle jars etc and then i use them in my spell work. They're both easy to put things in but also for general storage or just, well getting the items out of the spell so i can reuse the jar. i apologise if theres any spelling mistakes in this answer my cat is blocking the view of my screen and i cannot bother to get him off mu chest

You can do that! Also candle spells are easy for like, preserving space / minimizing the space used for the spell as u kind of just throw out the ingredients afterwards, or atleast i do, usually i use birthday candles, and the spell takes about 10 minutes to burn, and then i throw out the materials used or save them if they're expensive or if i feel like i have the energy to do so.
You can also do spells without materials, look into energy work maybe?

In general you do have to wait for spells to kick in and even then make way and be on the look out for opportunities that come to you to help you with your goals: new job offers, meetings about raises, opportunities to make on the side money from side hustles or favors from friends.

one is moreso done on yourself/person in question to bring opportunity of love to you, the other is done on a dif person.

as for how to go about making one, youll wanna look into:

• things for new beginnings/opportunities
• love related tools but not ones that like dominate the other person? softer stuff
• making sure to note down the attributes they want in a partner, not just anyone

So you're basically gonna want to do a banishing and cleansing ritual.

You want to take apart every part of the spell that you've done.

• remove everything from the jar and throw it away
• cleanse the jar and your space
• and you can't exactly unburn the paper but you can make another one with symbols of reversal and breaking. you could use sigils that you make yourself or just writing down what you want to happen. then burn that.
• you want to be sure that your intentions also include the fact that you're removing it from the other person as well

The next thing that you're gonna want to do is cleanse yourself by taking a shower and visualizing that you're removing the spell and its effects from you and the person that you casted on.

Then, you're going to want to banish the energy & spellwork. you're gonna want to banish it from both. You body spirit and blood because you used blood in this ritual.

And the last thing that you're gonna want to do is cast a protection spell on yourself.

ah that's another thing with doing spell.Work off of the internet is that a lot of times they give you symbols, but they don't really explain how they made them or where they got them from!

• A broken key (breaking)
• The "back" symbol used on music programs (reverse)
• Runes in norse:
  • Jera ᛃ- cycles, change

and for the jar question: i personally would at the very least add reversals and such to the jar before tossing it. the point of this is reversing the spell you did which means you need to reverse whats in it before tossing it.

Hi hello friends 🙂 wanted to share a recent money bowl spell I made

For reference this is my explanation(picture at the bottom)

I used a green sage candle in a candle holder with a finger loop. The loop gives the spell a sense of movement since I shift it between my altar & my desk when burning. Green represents growth & wealth, & sage clears away stagnant or harmful ties so that the resources drawn in are clean and safe.

Inside the holder I placed three bay leaves, each tied to a separate intention..stability in my work, steady opportunities, and a reliable stream of resources. Bay has long been tied to victory, & the number three is associated with expansion & binding energy, so together they reinforce those goals. Around the candle I formed a circle of lentils & jasmine rice. Lentils are old symbols of coins and of humble beginnings growing into plenty. Jasmine rice is used for drawing wealth, luck, & protection, so together they create a fertile circle around the spell’s heart.

I added three cinnamon sticks anchored in wax, each topped with three cloves. Cinnamon is often used to speed up workings, while cloves are used to seal them. Around the cinnamon I scattered crushed basil, which is tied to wealth & protection, & under the rice I placed rosemary where it meets the basil, adding clarity & guarding the exchange of energy between the core & the circle.
To ground the working, I placed coins..a 50cent piece for balance, a Sacagawea dollar for golden wealth & trade, a Mexican peso & a Nicaraguan córdoba to open the work to cross borders (with the córdoba tied to my own ancestry), & a quarter to tie the spell to daily spending. In the loop of the holder I placed rolled bills.. a U.S. dollar for foundation, twenty Mexican pesos with Frida Kahlo for creativity & legacy, & 50 córdobas with a volcano for unstoppable, rooted earth energy.

something like monthly -> weekly -> daily grounding situations, balancing energy, creating protections and cleansing. checkin in on your spiritual team, and making sure your not burning yourself out

I personally associate rain water as more cleansing due to rain’s ability to ‘wash away’ things, and moon water as more of energising!! But logistics wise I’ll have to go with myth and say moon water is easier , plus rain water goes bad faster I feel like lol

I would agree that I prefer moon water just because it is easy to make. Plus, I'm in the broom closet and harder to collect rain water without raising questions.

I work with both, moon energy is extremely powerful, however rain water seems a little bit more on the natural side, given that it comes straight from the clouds, now moonwater that has been made by using rain water instead of tap water…

hello hello!! i was gonna send this yesterday but got busy lol

so i did this transmutation candle spell in a glass novena candle, writing a sigil on the glass outside where on one side of the sigil, i wrote symbols representing negativity folks were sending/anytime anyone says my name & on the other, i did symbols of creativity abundance and protection. towards the end of the spell the wick drifted and leaned up against the part of the glass where the symbols for what others were saying/negativity sent to me, and sent a clean crack directly over that specific part of the sigil

now obviously mundane before magical that of course is due to the candle being cheaply made and wick drift. but i’m wondering if that also may mean something about the spell i did

Hey guys as you know it’s the full moon I just done a ritual with a deity the ritual went great we got lots of signs it went well. I have intrusive thoughts and after the ritual it started saying stuff like undo the ritual and I block it and I stop it. this has got me really scared and I’m worried it might affect the results have I done something wrong and has this effected the ritual
