I’m still unsure. Especially the last card. I’m not sure if I’m getting ahead of my self that it says it wants me as a partner to work with. It’s gotten really cold to my left and I’ve had a specific burning spot or sensation on my left shoulder as I was reading to the 3 and 4 card.

I have a question, what is an oracle and how does it work?

so oracle cards are essentially a form of card divination.

unlike tarot no two oracle decks will have the same layout or meaning, because instead of being based off of a layout like tarot is they are instead created by and for various different reasons.

one deck may have 20 cards where another deck may have 70, and the themes across them can be as different as being oracle cards that describe the meanings of different mushrooms to oracle cards that are dedicated to explaining emotions through color.

you can use Oracle decks in pretty much the same way you would use any form of card divination using them with card spreads, as daily pulls, for communication, etc

they're also may be differences in how two different decks are red based on the instructions given to you by the creator of it

some are meant to be used as motivational tools others can be subbed in for card games so on and so forth

There was this one time I spoke to Hermes via my tarot cards (context? Been getting a sudden influx of like Hermes and Apollo content on my FYP on tiktok even though I didn't even like them or searched them up. I know that the algorithm isn't supposed to be trusted but aside from that ghe previous week, I would have the song he's on the Epic the Musical soundtrack, Wouldn't You Like, be stuck in my head MOSTLY THE LAUGH) and I was in the middle of asking him something like 'I need some clarity-' and mans outright throws me the King of Swords mid-shuffle and I just got the general vibe of Hermes going like ':)' but in a very trickster sort of way 😭😭

I personally Shuffle until something falls out and if nothing falls out after a few minutes I'll pull the top or bottom card or I'll re-ask my question in a way that's easier for my cards to interpret

ahhh i see! well I don't know much about what exact flavor of Christianity you are but as somebody that grew up Catholic (is now Jewish) and whose mother is both a witch and Catholic and regularly uses divination

I find that it helps to understand that people use it in a way to also speak with God just as you would prayer or anything else really

a lot of people follow the Bible more closely which is entirely understandable and definitely makes sense but there are Catholic and Christian witches who do you use divination and God definitely doesn't hate them lol

But they appear on opposite directions

If its Hades then the lovers makes sense because Persephone just went back to the underworld to him, also representing decisions and the potentiality of being able to work with Him and Her. The hanged man combined with all the other cards leads to personal transformation and surrender, so I think it’s worth seeing if Hades is the one!

clairsenses tend to fall under energy work and there are a few ways:

  • if you have a spiritual team you can ask them to send you things starting from smaller to larger (so start at maybe a small pinging noise and work to full on sentences)
  • meditate and focus on the specific sense you want to work on, sense what you can on this plane so maybe think about your movements before you move. then work up to doing that past the veil and into the other planes

As an aside, I find unless you have one of those tasseography cups with sections for certain dates/times/astrological correspondences, it's tricky to use tasseomancy for time-based readings in my experience, for kind of the reasons you're running into

@spare maple I think you were spot on with 2 and 3 but I'd personally interpret the rest something like this

1: you have courage reaching out and showing interest, you can form a good relationship if you prove yourself

4: I'd probably interpret this more as you needing to do some personal growth spells, maybe some shadow work. This card gives me the feeling that this deity values sacrifice and offerings

5: volunteer work and giving donations could strengthen your connection. Not necessarily monetary donations but maybe you could go through your closet and pick out clothes you don't wear often or are no longer interested in and donate them to people in need. You could volunteer to walk dogs at animal shelters and stuff

6: I would interpret this as creating a self care ritual and devoting the actions of taking care of yourself and healing any past trauma to this deity. Offer the act of finding inner peace

7: your deity will be with you every step of the way on your journey as you find success, creativity, and growth

8: if you take the steps he'll help provide stability and security

I got a reading tonight but it's rather confusing to me, considering what it is that was asked and the cards that came out! It does make some sense if I really, really use the basic meaning and make it fit what I asked but... I want to ask someone else before I take it that way!

I did a card spread called Situation, Action, Outcome.

1st card: What is the current state of affairs?
2nd card: What actions can you take, or are currently taking, to address the situation?
3rd card: What kind of result can you expect from taking those actions?

1st card: Judgement, REVERSED.
2nd card: 4 of Wands.
3rd card: Ace of Pentacles, REVERSED.

TW just in case but it's generalized heavily to keep readers safe- but here's why I asked:
||My ex-bf and I live together and go through things a healthy couple would normally never have any issue with. My ex is in fact "the problem" and I catch him doing so many things that are just negative all around and impact me so. As well as our toddler. It's very stressful and traumatic.||

i read for my little brother and grandma

I asked for my grandma 3 cards, past present and future about the status in our family, past and present were so accurate

asked for my little brother about his job, 2 cards, what he want to become now and what he wants to do later (rn he want to be youtuber) and got a card about fame, creativity and other stuff which fits into that role T-T
the other card was about his appearance and being a business man in a creative role :D

So for where to get them, that's gonna depend on what's available to you. Some of mine are from a set that came into my possession, but I've also saved some from thinks like turkey or chicken that my family cook
We also should have some things in https://discord.com/channels/599776551306788874/1114060481867567114 that should help as far as any species to avoid and I think also how to care for them

I pretty much always do my throws without deity influence

I have 2 sets for divination. One for yes/no stuff which is made of straight or long ||bones|| and one of smaller ones with more interesting shapes that I use more intuitively kinda like a charm or rune set

hm well the tools themselves are never really meant to be taken literally. they are always meant to be interpreted to the question or query you have.

Death in tarot isnt an actual Death but an ending of something. which means that you would have to interpret how something like "an ending" would relate to your question

so it does in part come with experience but also has to do with understanding that fundumentally these are an intuitive type of practice, not a literal one

yeah so chakras are a practice within hinduism and buddhism and if you arent from those practices or havent been properly educated on them then i would avoid using that as a term since chakras themselves are a tad more complex than the western concept of them that are just energy points

genuinely it takes practice that's how you get into understanding what these things mean and how you interpret them.

no one is perfect at any form of divination directly off the bat you have to learn and that means making mistakes and learning from that.

it honestly might help to break this stuff down by what these things are.

dice are shapes assigned with numbers.

so going off of that look into shape language look into what number meanings are put those things together and that might help in understanding this form of divination a little bit better.

it's also why with tarot some people learn better by breaking down what makes tarot tarot. it's the combination of the imagery involved the numbers the elements the suits and their meanings.

all of that adds together to make the tarot card what it is

the issue is that you seem to struggle with having a very literal way of thinking when divination is not literal.

if something is saying that what you should expect from the day is a number associated with "change" that doesn't necessarily mean you are going to change or that something in your life is going to change but that there is an essence of change somewhere in your life

another thing to know is that even when it comes to daily readings if you're doing it every single day not every reading is going to correspond directly to that day.

you seem to want to get better as fast as possible because you are dealing with these questions and this frustration almost once a week at the very least when this is a skill that takes time nobody is good at divination overnight you can't force yourself to be

this is also the place where I'm going to say that interpreting your own sorts of answers from these methods is going to be the biggest thing.

your interpretations is what makes divination divination that's how it works.

no two people read the exact same tarot deck the exact same way because we all interpret the answers differently. what we have are baseline examples of meanings for these things.

and this goes doubly so with dice divination because dice divination is made up of different aspects like shape language numbers colors ECT and all of those things have different meanings when it comes to cultural significance and are associated differently based on person to person

this is very difficult to explain because I'm trying to do it in a way that doesn't make it sound overwhelming

you need to break these things down to their most basic parts:

  • what makeup dice?
    this is going to be numbers and the sides of the dice themselves that's where shape language comes into play because each of these dice are based around a shape that is then turned into something that you roll

look into the meanings of numbers

  • what kind of numbers do you have
  • where do these meanings come from
  • what cultures have different number meanings and how does that influence where you are getting your number meanings

look into different shape language

  • what do triangles mean in a specific culture
  • are there any spiritual significance to the shape of a square

you can then learn to understand where these things would combine to create the meanings of dice divination.

it's hard to explain something that you don't understand when I can't be sure of why you don't understand it.

because these are concepts that I've also explained multiple times when we've had these conversations before

so in all cases the Ace in a suit represents the potential and beginning of the suits energy in your life in some way.

the Ace of pentacles is a sign of a new start to financial gain abundance opportunity things like that

the ace of cups is more so like the new start to a path of being more open to your emotions possibly new relationships and an air of like giving if that makes sense

and finally the Ace of wands is about inspiration new opportunities in the creative sense and just like a sign of potential for a New path

overall I would say that getting that many in a really short amount of time might be a sign that you or the new path that you're working towards are full of potential and also are sort of signs of a new beginning for you

That does highlight an interesting point, in that if we're using tarot to divine the future, it's really only showing us a potential future; whatever we choose to do from there influences that future just as much as any divination might, a classic example of fate vs self-determinism.

Aces in the tarot are about new beginnings or new opportunities. New anything can be disruptive, sure, but not every new thing in our lives is big and world-shifting. Sometimes an Ace of Wands is signaling something as small as a new idea or way to approach a routine task, or hitting upon a new source of inspiration for an ongoing creative pursuit.

One thing that really sticks out to me in this is that you seem to be reading a lot. Are you doing all of these readings on the same subject, and/or with the same deck?

This I call The Tree of Life Spread. The card at the very bottom is the seed, the Traveller. The cards lying on top of it are the roots, the Past. The cards standing in the middle are the trunk, the Present. The cards lying at the top are the foliage, the Future. The cards lying along the trunk are What's Missing, Obstacles, and Windfall. And the final card standing alone at the left is another seed from the tree which resembles the Destination, but also a new Beginning.

  1. Over time, you'll start to learn the meanings and you'll refer to it less. If you want to learn the meanings flashcard style, an app like Labyrinthos might be of interest!
  2. Read intuitively; use the imagery in the card to guide your interpretation. What do you notice about the card, and how might it apply to your question or situation?
  3. Get a deck like the Tarotorial deck that has the meanings on the cards themselves

Okay awesome! Just making sure. To me this is a pretty general reading - the world reversed means delays in fulfillment and blockages in how you actually view abundance and money, in the sense of how you are personally able to achieve it. The world reversed, death, and temperance advise to widen your view and change your perspective. Finding more meaning in how you achieve abundance (career, clearing limiting beliefs) and how you see yourself achieving that (everyday progress, what steps do you need to take). Because the emperor reversed means that there’s a cold view towards it that is limiting your ability to be able to find a strong structure in financial stability and 7 of swords indicates to me that, that same mindset is deceiving. The advice here feels very much like.. shifting your world view and allowing yourself to step into abundance by recognizing what you have. Adding more details to financial fulfillment for you. What does it look like? How does it feel? When do you want it by? And what steps can you take everyday to work towards that

Hi guys, I'm a newbie witch. I am practicing love spells for my ex. I have a habit of asking the tarot cards for a feedback on the potency of the spell after each casting.
I'm not really good at deciphering or associating meanings between tarot cards, and here are the ones I got (I usually shuffle the deck until a random card falls out. Normally I would draw 3 cards for each question, but today when I shuffled the deck for the 3rd card, "Judgment" and "The Lovers fell out at the same time, so I took both.). So I have:

  1. 4 of Wands
  2. Queen of Cup
  3. Judgment and The Lovers

🔮 In my opinion, this could be a good sign for this spell. I find the image in the "4 of Wands" quite "bright" and the two people look happy. However, I still don't really understand the meaning of the remaining cards. There seems to be a calling in "Judgment." And there seems to be a connection in "The Lovers."

So, when put together, what do the cards mean? Could you please help me decipher the meanings of these cards? Thanks for reading, I would be very grateful to receive your reply. 🥺💖💖

These cards dive into the working a lot more specifically - but overall it is pretty positive. The four of wands talks about stability, long term commitment, physical and emotional foundations that are set up for success (think marriage). It’s a huge, positive milestone but that doesn’t take away from the fact that 50% of marriages end in divorce. Queen of cups talks about what I can only assume is your role, being an emotionally balanced person who is compassionate towards the hardships and the relationship overall. With this work, it also means being mindful of the timing and careful about how you approach it, making sure to not be too overbearing and still allowing the other person to be their own person. That plays into judgement and the lovers, while yes the lovers talks about harmony between two people romantically, it also talks about making balanced and harmonized decisions. Judgement is a huge card, it’s not just a calling. It’s a huge series of different revelations while also addressing the situation from a realistic standpoint, asking yourself: what caused you two to break in the first place? What unspoken issues need to be worked through, both as a romantic pairing and individually? How can it be ensured that both of you are emotionally mature enough to begin again, from a healthier standpoint? And lastly, is it even worth salvaging?

If you’re doing any type of working like this, you should always prioritize making it healthy and doing divination every step of the way. I recommend looking into the cards a lot more deeply because if you have a hard time doing that, it is going to be difficult to navigate what your situation needs. Because otherwise you risk adding conflicting elements and not setting the right intentions, causing a higher potentiality for backfire

Hi everyone, I just got my first obsidian sphere about two weeks ago and tried to start scrying a few times since I got it. I noticed that I get a lot of vivid color effects that have a very deliberate flow to them. I was just wondering if anyone else scrys and has this effect, also how do I interpret the colors I am seeing. Sometimes it is like a filter being turned off and on repeatedly, sometimes its colors flowing in patterns around the sphere then disappearing only to repeat the very same process. I also feel strong pulling forces while doing this.

so based on the cards I'm seeing one thing that I'm getting a lot of is that you need to come into a new sense of yourself but not doing so for reasons that would be considered either greedy or would restrict you spiritually because doing so can result in you feeling down and more prone to taking on childish actions.

The high priestess is about coming into your own intuition and spirituality
the fool is about New beginnings and the start of a New Journey
the devil is a cautionary card on living within excess
and the reversed sun is a card about handling obstacles of sadness or being overly confident inabilities that you haven't gained yet

so overall with your new sort of expansion into witchcraft as a whole this might be that you need to learn and handle the basics well before jumping into things that you aren't sure of or confident in!

Hey guys so I was directed here and I need answers!!!! So my bf and I recently moved in and money has been tight since the holidays, also he is not getting paid because of the work he does is out for Christmas break. I am also not getting paid as I’m in between jobs. I recently received some money from family but we had to use it for food, gas, etc. he also won a gaming tournament and won money. unfortunately when it comes to tarot you have to be able to read outside of the box a little bit and not take the cards specifically as being literal. in this case your meaning wasn't literally about the money it was about losing the opportunity to gain what it is that you were asking about
