Jinx

• Created with conscious or subconscious intention
• Primary use is to bring bad luck
• Usually pretty harmless
• Short lived; comes to do the work then is over
• Easy to "accidentally" jinx others with your thought process

Hex

• Created with conscious intention & tools
• Primary use is to inconvenience the target
• Timed; when performing the hex you should give it an ending time
• Similar to a jinx but heavier and longer lasting

Curse

• Created with conscious intention & tools
• Primary use is to bring harm / illness / discomfort to an individual or a ||blood||line
• Can last short term, but more commonly lasting long-term
• Curse symptoms can include; feelings of dread, constantly sick then better, inexplicable fear

Matchstick Test

You will need:

• a bowl of water
• two matchsticks
• protection or olive oil (optional)

Matchstick tests are found in many folk practices, such as Stregoneria, and are an open alternative to what is commonly known as "the egg test", or la limpia de huevo. Sprinkle some of your oil into your bowl of water. Rub your matches between your fingers and throw them in one at a time. If they do not touch, you are not cursed. If they touch barely, such as making a T or V pattern in the water, someone tried to curse you and failed. If they make an X pattern, someone attempted to curse you and were successful - do a cursebreaking and cleanse.

Simple Curse Breaking Spell by quifflesnix#3177

1. Cleanse and protect the space, ensuring that multiple wards are in place. Cast a circle. Anoint yourself with protection oil if desired. Since you’re working with negative energies, it’s better to be safe than sorry in case anything goes awry.

2. Tie a slip knot on each end of the string, making sure there is plenty of slack in the middle so you can easily cut it. Put your index fingers in the slip knots and pull slightly to secure them (not too tight, please do not get this string stuck on your fingers).

3. Recite the following:

   As I cut this cord, every negative spell on me is broken.

4. Cut the string in half with scissors. Then, remove the string from your fingers now. Use scissors to cut the string into as many pieces as possible, while reciting:

   All bad luck, harm, and negativity is dispelled as I destroy and dispose of this token.

5. Then throw the pieces away in the trash.

6. Cleanse and protect the space again to get rid of any lingering negative energy, and make sure you have protections specifically against curses/hexes in place from now on to keep this person from messing with you again.

Cursing and Hexing: Common Items Used by me

As an aside: this type of magic is always going to be malevolent in nature and is usually done with the intent to harm. If you are not comfortable with the consequences that they can have, don't perform them, but do not be rude to those that are comfortable with doing so.

Things that are commonly used in hexes and curses:
Taglocks (these are what represent the person targeted):

• Bodily fluids
• Hair
• Fingernails
• Photographs
• Personal items
• Poppets
• Birth charts
• Names (full names, nicknames, etc)

Botanicals:

• Peppers (Cayenne, Black, etc)
• Chilies
• Citrus (Lemon, Orange, Grapefruit)
• Poppies
• Mold/Rotting food
• Thorns
• Poisonous plants
• Spicy herbs
• Herbs: Angelica root, rue, wormwood, thistle, clove
• You can use the rotted versions of any herb or food to incorporate its baneful aspects (ie Rotted roses would incorporate the absence or ruining of love rather than promote it)

Other:

• Nails (can be both clean or rusted)
• String/yarn/cord
• Baneful Water, Storm Water, Mars Water
• Vinegar
• Food grade alcohol and antiseptic alcohol
• Bones
• Sharp objects [please handle safely] (broken glass, needles, mirrors (can also be unbroken), barbed wire, etc)
• ||Wasp nests||
• Dead ||insects||
• Dirt (from their place of work or residence/a cemetery)
• Crystals with baneful associations

This is not a comprehensive list as there are longer and more thorough resources available.

Most people will also mention to not curse people that live with you as that can affect you magically or to make sure to get rid of your curse away from where you live so it doesn't leach into your life. It's not a hard and fast rule as nothing is magically, but it's better to be safe.

Rage Hex by @fringe pagoda
I call this the rage hex. As always, work cautiously. I do not recommend this or any hex for beginners.

You will need:

• red pepper
• the name of the target
• a taglock
• anything spicy
• sharp stuff (safety pins, nails, thumbtacks, etc)
• an egg
• a || knife||
• a bowl you don’t particularly care about, tupperware works
• salt
• a red candle
• a lot of anger

directions:

1. create a salt circle, light your candle, and set your intention. the strength of your rage decides how strongly this hex will hit, so be wise with your intention.

2. write the name of your target on a paper or leaf. fold away from you, then light with the candle. release the ashes into the bowl.

3. put your pepper and spices into the bowl. you don’t need to mix them. they will burn the target with tenfold the pain that they’ve caused, over and over again until they understand the pain they’ve inflicted unto others.

4. next is your taglock. put this in the bowl, whether you decide to rip it up or break it beforehand is up to you.

5. put your pricklies in there. mostly around the edges of the bowl, the target is going to be trapped in their own malice and met with no respite.

6. put your egg in the center of the bowl. this represents your target. now take your || knife || and || stab || the egg. over and over again. until it’s basically shards. until you feel like every square centimeter of pain and anger you feel has been delivered into the bowl and its contents.

7. wait for the candle’s flame to calm, and allow your emotions to calm with it. turn the candle out, then sweep the salt circle into the bowl both to put salt in the wound and as a layer of protection between yourself and the negativity in the bowl.

8. discard contents however you like

Avadakedavra spell (curse spell) by @gardxyz

note: this spell is based off the avadakedavra spell from Harry Potter. The spell is considered as "unforgivable threes" spell in the series. The content has nothing to do with the actual spell of abracadabra which is (possibly) derived from armaic language and the derivation is first seen in writings of _Quintus Serenus Sammonicus. _

1# ps: make sure to learn and understand the (possible) history, origin, significance and use of the historical abracadabra spell. (the word translates to "I create as I say so /speak" ) (the spell was historically used to banish evil from all grounds and forceed positive force and used for healing purposes)
(editors note: the armaic term is only one possible origin for the abracadabra spell and that has been reflected in the text)

2# ps: cursing, hexing & jinxing is not for beginners, so if u are one of em then back off and learn more about witchcraft and research would be recommended.

ingredients:

• wand (recommended) / long kitchen metal item (if ur an kitchen witch!)
• you can use your index finger to direct the energy if u don't have wand. (for directing the energy to the person u wanna curse)
• rosemary oil/water or rosemary to annoint (for their protective and baneful aspect)
• anything with thorns like a cactus, aloevera or rose bush (be safe!) (used in baneful work in Western witchcraft)
• pen and paper to write few things!

• you may do any cleansing, grounding, or any LBRP of the space
• you can cast an magic circle
• you can shield yourself with big castle walls or anything you wish!
• cleanse the wand, space and ingredient and yourself!

**how to do the spell: **

• make an powder of the thorns or prickly plants
• put the powder in water and mix well with rosemary essence oil/ water, or rosemary powder
• annoint your hand/wand well!
• write your intention in the paper (i.e who you want to curse with misfortune or whatever you want them to happen with)
• burn the paper in an secure space (i.e in cauldron or anything fireproof)
• use the cold ashes as powder to annoint the wand/hand
• once your done you need to be intensify yourself as the spell is actually unforgivable and your doing the thing at your own pace!
• direct the wand/index finger of your hand into the person you want to curse with saying the avadakedavra spell
• while directing the energy you can use the following sigil linked underneath. while making the sigil in air towards the person and saying the incantation at the same time.

After spellwork!

now it's not time to do extreme cleansing and banishing of any unwanted energy from yourself and your clothes and wand.
for this just cleanse yourself in however way your comfortable in! (i.e smoke, herbs, garlic, etc, etc.)

ps: while doing the spell make sure you know what your doing and intensify yourself and your intentions to harm that person specifically. must have in mind that these spell are "unforgivable" as presented by media! for the best results!

Jinxing, Hexing, and Cursing

I. | Fundamentals

Before starting, are you new to the craft? Baneful magic can very easily backfire if you don’t know what you’re doing. Make sure you have a good grasp on the fundamentals such as grounding, cleansing, warding/protection, and banishing before performing baneful work. You should also very clearly know the differences between jinxes, hexes, and curses and have an idea of which one you would like to do.

II. | Protection

Ensure you are well protected, baneful magic can easily backfire if you are not protecting yourself during spellwork. Make sure you understand how to dispose of ingredients properly and put distance between you and the spell as you are casting it. If your target is well protected, you want to make sure you have protections in return. They may have return to sender wards, or a very protective spirit team. Make sure you have a plan to properly dispose of the spell and cleanse and ward after!

III. | Divination

Why do you want to cast a baneful spell? Is this the best way to handle it? Sometimes, a mundane option is better. Divine on this through any methods of divination, and learn if this is a spell you can safely cast. As mentioned in the last section, your target may be well protected. You never want to bite off more than you can chew!

IV. | Your Target

Is your target someone who is close to you? If your target is someone who lives within your home such as a roommate or guardian, you may want to avoid doing this spell. You may also want to consider avoiding performing baneful work on someone that you are still in contact with including friends or family members. If you still have ties to this person, the effects of the baneful work could in turn affect you. To put it into perspective, if you hex your guardian who is responsible for you financially, the outcome may negatively affect you.

Prep Work

1. Divination - Take your time to reflect on this upcoming ritual, seeking insight and confirmation that this approach is the most appropriate for the situation. Additionally, inquire if there are any barriers that might prevent the success of this intention.
2. Preparation - Write a letter to your spirit team and invoke who you wish to help you. Include details of your target, what they did, how you felt, then ask and thank your spirit team for the help. Write your petition and your intentions for the spell.
3. Protection - Protect your space and your community by preparing your hex space. Draw a pentagram and create a salt circe. You can also light candles around the circle.
4. Taglocks - Take a jar and place it in the circle, then add your taglocks in the jar. Take a piece of paper and write your target's name and birthdate on it. Then fold the paper away from you 3 times and add baneful sigils on the paper. Add to your jar.

2. Talking Shit - Read the letter you wrote to your community, talk about what your target did and your intentions for this curse. Take a moment to breathe and settle into the energy of the space.
3. Broken Heart - Make a heart out of clay to represent your target. Stab it with sharps such as nails, sewing needles, safety pins, or anything you have on hand. Add it to the jar.
4. Brew - Add in these following ingredients with intention. Use what you have on hand! You do not have to use this ingredients specifically

• Cat litter - to stink up their life
• Lemon - to sour their life
• Sharps (needles, safety pins, nails)
• Cloves - unease, stop gossip, chaos
• Spices (black peppercorn, pepper, anything spicy you can find like chili oil or hot sauce)
• Chili peppers
• Rosemary - for regret and emotional perspective
• Poppy seeds - Confusion and disruption
• Crush up an egg and add with the intention of breaking down their protections
• Add salt (salt in the wound)

5. Shake - Pass the jar around and have everyone shake it up. Whisper your intentions into the jar.
6. Energy - Seal the jar with the lid and add red or black candles for energy. Sit with the energy. Talk shit about your target and envision energy pouring into the spell.

1. Dispose of the jar (I usually just toss it in the trash)
