#Weapon ideas
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
The devs have confirmed that shields aren’t coming seeing as they are “tricky to balance” and theres the fact that all weapons essentially function as a shield 😅
OOoo, you gave me a good idea, maybe a returning tamahawk or hammer. Even cooler, maybe a mini orb or a mini planet to orbit the player
ngl, some ideas i didnt know what to really think, like the boom stick spear or the necromancers hand, I just thought a weapon that was longer ranged weapon like a lance or spear would be cool, or resurrecting things is just somethign i thought would be cool to see
Lad is just saying words😭.
Also, please elaborate on your weapon suggestions more, so we can understand them better.
well then imagine a spear that has a end that's similar to the flail, specifically when it explodes. Like when the spear head hits a target, the spear head breaks off, or maybe does consistant damage, while the spear becomes a bo-staff. Since shields are confirmed to not be added, no shield and hammer. The necromancers hand could maybe have symbols on the fingers where you can store up to 5 enemy souls to resurrect to be your own, but the only way to get those souls is from your dagger. The lance could maybe be a weapon that could have a slight dash ability and strong pierce when thrusting with it. I lost it with prisoners' ball to mace, same with potions and herbs since potions are the same as orbs. A flintlock and brass knuckles maybe add to more close quarter combat, with the flint lock being longer to reload or being a longer way to charge so you don't solely rely on the pistol. There's already a sword and knife in the game so the great sword doesn't really matter. IDK, they were good ideas when i thought of it at the time
........what
what would the point of the spear be
if you want the bomb to stick to enemies there's a augment that lets it do that, I use it actually
uhh lets see
necromancer has no ranged option unless you stock up on ranged enemy souls but I'm assuming these are either on a timer before they expire or can take damage
not even to mention dagger already exists as a weapon so that would just be redundant.
lance sounds a little too boring as it's just sword with a free messenger's mark attached to it (messenger's mark lets you dash when activated)
not even gonna bring up the prison ball
I've really liked the idea of a potion maker armament but you are allergic to details
flintlocks I'm FAIRLY CERTAIN (not confirmed) will not be in the game and brass knuckles is just punching people but now there's metal
only one worth pursuing really is the potion one I wouldn't mind that
Maybe what if instead of a boom stick spear to a staff, make it a javelin and staff, to spear. Actually, pike to become javelin and staff. Think about it. It would be awesome to use a long ranged spear to poke and prod enemies, but if you dont like it, you can transform it into a staff and javelin.
I would say something like a necromancers book, but there already is a book in game. You could maybe point with the index finger of the hand to mark a target with the creatures you summon. I dont know what else would be better with a ability like that since i'm not sure what would stick with the necromancer feel.
Maybe a crucifix and a holy lance would be better than a regular lance. Kinda like holy crusaders, with the holy lance, and a crucifix to block projectiles, charge it, and summon helpful wisps, or fire projectiles back.
Sorry that i didnt give much details, i thought it said to keep details a minimum so if the developers do take a look, they can come up with their own things, but that must've been for something else
Primary would be potions, secondary would be herbs. Maybe potions show up way more often in chests or anywhere else, maybe even the merchant grants a free orb. It would grant you 2 more slots for storage. Obviously it cant be super powerful, so maybe the damage isn't well or maybe orbs have weaker affects, but may grant a slight upgrade on the stat that the orb grants. If you were to brew a potion, then it would be harm only. Similar to the magma orb or the one that explodes, you can create orbs based on the ingredients you find around, like cheese or apples, that do damage. The herbs maybe can be your beneficial affects. Maybe you can take fruits and vegetables and ferment them into special potions that does what orbs do currently. Maybe 2 of the 4 storage slots could be special slots that do that fermenting. IDK, i just kinda came up with it on the fly, so if you think this is a terrible idea, defiantly tell me what would be better or just gone in general

having to rely on chance for your main weapons sounds really bad, and chests stop spawning after a few loops, what will happen then?
-
having to use food for single use damage is even worse
-
Idk about the fermenting thing, seems like it could maybe be cool and definitely could be a way to balance being able to just spawn in pototions to buff yourself, but as of right now this whole system is pretty wack (derogatory)
not to be rude or anything, but what would you see it being used as? just cuz i couldn't really think of anything else it could be and it would be cool to see what you think. Also sorry if it seems like the ideas are bad, there just things i think would be cool, and i defiantly want ranged primary weapons kinda like the crossbow. My personal favorite weapon is the crossbow, but i would love to see weapons to summon enemies, or more variety to shoot something
what do mean mean "see it being used as" exactly? Like what i think the potion armament could be? (also don't think you're being rude)
yeah, i wanna see what you personally imagine when you think of a potion and herb weapon combo
I would genuinely love flintlocks like muskets and blunderbusses but those weren’t in the medieval era this game takes place in
uh yeah gimmie like
several life times I'll get back to you on that
pinky promise
this game has a whiffle bat, plastic explosives disguised as desserts (ticking treat), clockwork mechanisms (clock key), various exotics fruits like plums, durians, and dragon fruit all in the same place, and plenty of animal parts and such from all around the world, I think it's safe to say the issue lies more with balancing than guns being a thing in ye olde time
anyways I'll get on that potion thing
A weapon like the broadside or the harpoon gun from fallout would be awesome
Flask and Herb Bag
Flask and Herb Bag thrives in careful planning and prep work and struggles when it's put in a situation where it cannot set up potions to clear obstacles.
Flask: Main weapon, can be filled with brews or thrown for damage in an emergency, don't worry, you have infinite of them and they're all filled with water. Hold trigger to summon a flask to your hand, let go of trigger throw your flask. You can also store flasks filled with brews in your wrist pockets for later.
Herbs: come in a little bag of holding you can access on your hip, pull herbs from your bag and mix them together by shaking your flask to make potions! If you ever need a refresher on recipes, there's a book of all your recipes right over your shoulder.
Consuming Flasks: there are two ways to use flasks, drinking, and throwing, every flask has a thrown effect and a consumed effect.
Recipes: Flask and Herb Bag can make several unique herbal brews with the 4 herbs in your satchel mix and match to find what's best for you! The four herbs are "Sweet", "Savory", "Sour", and "Spicy".
(Below are some possible combos)
Fire Breath: Made with 3 spicy herbs, can be used as a fire bomb, dealing light damage and burning enemies, or can be consumed to let you breathe fire for larger area of effect!
Bitter Brew: Made with 2 sour herbs and 1 savory herb, When thrown, enemies in the splash radius will take more damage, if you drink it, you will deal slightly more damage for a few seconds.
White Knuckle Punch: Made with 1 sweet herb, 1 sour herb, and 1 spicy herb, this concoction puts you in a fighting mood! Enemies hit by the punch will be aggroed onto you until they die and always know where you are. If you drink it, it will DOUBLE your fist damage.
these are just some examples and I'm running out of space, you get the gist right?
@finite ore all done!
defiantly make a whole new post about this cuz it's FIRE, I'd love to see it in game since it adds so much new things that would be awesome to explore in game
thanks gang
I might but I'll probably fine tune it a bit
this was kind of a rough draft I didn't wanna keep you waiting
maybe a bit of polishing but W idea
