Okok so what if like the smaller sword augment gives you damage and the larger sword augment gives you less damage

Then no one would use the big sword augment. Augments come with the downside of taking up an augment slot on the weapon, so why would it need a downside?
Take spliced and condensed links for example, neither have any built in downside, which is fine, because the downside is not choosing a damage augment.

To be fair some augments do have downsides

Like bomb lighting enemies on fire but doing less damage

But I still feel like no one would choose the big sword

Yeah, but the augments that do have a downside also have a fairly good upside, such as blood rune giving insane starting damage, but only at low health. A big sword doesn't warrant a downside.

Uhh the how about big sword and like more crit??

Instead of less damage

It doesn't need more crit, big sword is fine on it's own, it just doesn't need a downside.

OH THAT'S A GOOD IDEA

I feel like these would kill the point of the relics in the game that do the same thing 😅

Well, we have the chain length modifier augments for flail and still have Possessed Hammer and Bee Stinger, it just increases/decreases it further.

That being said, I would never use this as an augment, not that I wouldn't like a bigger sword, it just wouldn't be worth the slot, especially not with all of the heavy hitting sword augments, like Honed Edge and Blood Rune. Also, a bigger dagger works because the dagger is so small, the sword doesn't need more range as an augment.

So I wouldn't want to see this in the game if being honest.
