#shield and chain weapon combo

the shield would have a mechanic similar to the flail where trigger would change it from a sort of block mode to a attack mode or smth also the faster an enemy's charges in to you or you charge into them it would deal more damage. The chain would act like the throwing knife and when its stuck in the enemy you could like pull them closer to get a big attack in.

Happy to see, that you are interested enough in the game to make a weapon suggestion. SOme issues which I (personally) see with it tho:

  • Shields don't really make sense for the game, since you can already block/parry about every projectile and close up it is more effective to just attack to stagger or kill. So shields don't really add something unique to the combo
  • As we have seen with the flail, debuffing yourself as part of the kit (weaker flail after using bomb/broken chain and weakened shield here) are not liked all that much. Also sounds like a big debuff tbh

I like the "pull in" mechanic, but think that there are other options to make it better MM_thumbsup

Also the shield would have spikes so it makes sense that you could still slap enemies for good damage

Oh functunally that would work, my main "concern" is that the identity of a shield - blocking - isn't really something unique in this game, so it would feel less special imo. Maybe you can swap it out for something that could still work for the chain-bash-combo, but also has another gimmick or something to make it feel different, even without the chain
