Yeah as Fart said, this would need to be shared otherwise the relic would be really bad (only you get stat up but everyone else's coins decrease)
But it’s not sustainable when the whole team has it. Coins run out almost immediately, and then nobody gets the stat up.
Then what are you supposed to do about it 😭
You can’t “balance” it in mp without changing how the relic fundamentally works
Also, if youre gonna bring this up, might as well bring up Vial of Blue Blood, as its even more devastating in mp
At most it could maybe be balanced a little by making a successful coin strike only have a chance to remove a coin based on how many players are in the room, so in a 4-player lobby the powered-up strike would only take away a coin ¼ of the time
Otherwise that's about it yeah, it uses something shared, the main options are either just 1 person gets to waste the party's money whether they want to or not, or everyone can waste the party's money on it
1 person wasting the party’s money sucks, but the party could still have money. All 4 members of the party wasting the party’s money means the party has no money. One sucks, the other mega sucks.
The 1 person would almost certainly be hated on for it, but if everyone does it it's everyone's fault so nobody has much of a reason to get upset at anyone specific for it
Make it not shared, or remove it from multiplayer. One person draining the team’s money sucks, but it’s more sustainable than the whole team draining the money. As for vial of blue blood, I would honestly just remove it from multiplayer.
That's why i think the only alright way it could be improved is if everyone had it, but a coin strike only had a 1/[number of players] chance of actually consuming a coin, then it would still drain at the same rate regardless of number of players, and everyone gets to use it.
I see your point, but they’ll still get upset at the person who picked it up. I watched a kid get bullied until he left.

That (the bullying) is a player-problem, not a relic problem imo. There will always be relics someone doesn't like, and removing those relics isn't really a solution since not everyone dislikes them. Tweaks like a chance as Jeb suggested would be fine, but players get bullied for taking foam bat
Yeah, that’s the point I was trying to make when Jeb said that the person taking gaping totem would get hate (if it wasn’t shared). I’d rather not see relics removed if it can be helped.
Follow-up question: I’ve only experienced vial of blue blood in multiplayer once, but we took it late and immediately won and didn’t enter ng+. Does the whole team immediately die at 0 coins?
