#Crusader's Ardament, the support class

- Support is hell to balance.
- Healing is op in pre ng, and useless in 3 and onwards.
- Multiplayer isn’t the main mode, single player is.
Supports, and by extension classes that heal anybody including themselves, are not being considered for advr, as it's a single player game first and thus support classes wouldn't really work.
The core idea is cool with the orbs and stuff, but they need to do something drastically different than what you had in mind
Basically just rehashed what box co. Said but I'm going to ignore that because I'm evil
Ah yeah, that makes sense. The idea sprouted from my love of support classes and while doing a weaponless run for fun. I do think a class like this with high risk and reward with resource management would be extremely fun and rewarding to play and learn. Thanks for the feedback!
🤯
Resource management based classes would be a pretty cool idea, though health and multiplayer based skills aren’t.
I believe Kemi mentioned that the combo could also heal the user during solo runs and he made it balanced to where it takes up some sort of mana and time to heal someone or themsleves.
The combo is also focused on close range through punches rather than strikes like the sword or mace. Though it does feature long range for obvious reasons.
I'll work on polishing the idea but I do think its fairly balanced and possible in game
my issue isn't just with multiplayer/support roles, but with the healing in general. In most runs, healing is a very sparce commodity especially early on, having on demand healing with no draw backs like having to find a relic or using your mark slot or taking up pocket slots is very powerful.
No combo should have easy access to self healing imo. It undermines the difficulty of the game as a roguelike
what the fart guy said
I wouldn't listen to a guy named FartExploder69 lowk
there is plenty of drawbacks?
You become helpless when healing self or others
you must charge the healing mana through killing enemies
and you use more mana upon healing self
not to mention that the bar would be empty at the beginning of a delve
i believe a support class would be fun and useful
- plenty of downtime before and after encounters
- literally acquired by playing the game
- renewable resource
- renewable resource
- you start with it whenever you begin your run, there is no relic to find, mark to hold, pockets to fill, it's just healing tacked onto your kit
If you dont wanna listen to me, a dev literally said it themself
I can still balance the weapon myself, this is good feedback but please don't devole into just fighting in my replies-
we WILL be arguing for no reason and YOU will be responsible
-# (I'm joking)
Noooo ;-;
What an unfunny joke
I'm the target audience of all of my jokes and I think it was pretty funny
adding onto this I have been really growing on the idea of gauntlets so don't give up, just know it's pretty heavily suggested and it'll take a lot to sway most of the people who linger in this forum
I would still love to have some sort of weapon that isn't exclusively to help oneself, multiplayer is becoming more and more apparent as the game goes on. The weapon can even work differently if used in solos vs multiplayer! This was a idea made in like literally 15 minutes. I will continue to work on it when I'm not swamped with college work
Thanks! After two different fist only runs I really want a gauntlet weapon
Theres definitely a way to create some form of compromise
I think the very most that you could vouch for is being able to heal others with healers mark in multiplayer
or ig force feeding food to people
Freezing Winds for Tome and Wand is a great example of a “support” strategy
Even though it mostly benefits the user
remember, you can ALWAYS support the team by killing everything, they can't hurt you if they're dead!
Yeah, we'll see what can be done as the game develops. I can rework the weapon to two versions. One for a healer class if it ever becomes an option in game, and one that acts like the rest as a resource management burst damage weapon.
I do think having a mana bar that allows for heavy burst damage could be cool to work with
mana is cool yeah
Again, the devs dont plan on adding support classes
Weapon combos are about playstyles, not team roles
Do don't, keep putting your suggestions on here
It's still a weapon aside from being able to support
??
Its just the support aspect I’m talking about
Its not something that the game needs
Negative nancysss
you could always mod the game hehehehehhehehehehheheifaojefsrifkjswoerigpjdtg
I'm just evil
I was honestly considering that
being a hater comes with the occupation here
Keep yourself on topic
Didn't know I should say that out loud
Don't be rude, dude.
So immature
You're not being funny
they have a whole channel for it! Definitely go give it a try
Dang I'm blind
when was I being funny? I'm being sincere.
There's a difference between being mean in a channel meant to be mean and being mean to someone who doesn't deserve it💔
regardless of being evil or not I still don't agree with the suggestion
Okay then leave💔
You already shared your opinion, that's enough
I'm not entertaining this further
I'm not done sharing!
I'm feeling generous
disregarding the healing I think a mana system would be pretty cool
but I feel like it was kind of already done with the uh
book and wand yeah
I thought about that and I wanna make the orb and AOE work differently
also does it have a means of ranged attack without the mana? Sorry if any of these are redundant the lighting on the image is kind of sketchy
That's the fun part!
It doesn't.
doesn't require mana? if that's the case, good
The normal pulse attack/orb is gonna be reworked to not use mana. Or Faith as I'd like to call it. But the charging of the pulse, AOE, and any other attacks that will cause the burst dmg play style I was going for will
Faith can also maybe be restored faster by killing enemies or dealing damage with punches
Maybe
ooooh what if the gauntlets let you control rocks and you could punch them at enemies or swing around pillars of stone
kinda like uhhh
what was it called
quake
(the vr game)
Hmmmmm, that could maybe be the third attack!
I think that'd take the most Faith out of the bar
eh, mixing all of them together would kind of lose any coherence
like why is the holy puncher class throwing rocks like an aggravated chimpanzee
just doesn't fit too well together (which is rich considering the most recent weapon combo but shhhhh)
What about a holy sword? Kinda like the ghosts make
Could be a good crowd control move
maybe the gloves channel the spirits of the slaughtered somehow, and the spells are based around the attacks of the restless spirits?
I'll workshop it
🎉
Mb again beniac cause this may have been the 37.25th time I’ve restarted an issue, but no offense but you really can’t be talking. You were a general jerk pretty much that entire conversation, and you brought the issue back up and got mad at them for stating that the devs actively said no
(Joke) TLDR - shush
Mb :<
