after i defeated the beast, i decided i wanted to turn my in-music off cuz I was listening to my own music, I ended up cancelling out the beast's teleport and was stuck in the final room with no escape (if it wasnt for auto saving this run would be dead and i wouldn't have been able to record a video to show an issue)

since i'm already bring this issue up, a similar softlock can occur if you manage to fall out of the map after the beast teleports you, and you don't hit the spots that end the run or put you into new game plus

this isn't neccessairily a bug but it IS an issue -- basically going in the menu stops you from moving at all, and adds the ui and screen overlay for the main menu to appear ( obviously ) but outside forces ( even in singleplayer ) like enemies, bosses or other things are still able to move while you're in the menu, so the check for the teleport already went, but the you being in the menu part cancelled it out, thus keeping you in the beast's cradle
-# despite the menu ui just being an overlay on your screen [ atleast that's my theory ] the menu actually acts as an endless void and you can throw food, items, or even your own projectiles and they'll never return [ except your own projectiles considering they're hard coded to come back, but it'll take longer ] i havent tested the dropping food in the menu void if it works on pit friend though

so yeah this should be worked around in some way

#

Yeah but this is a shitty issue even if it's not very commonly happening

#

Don't think this would happen if you collected a page though, unless you were maybe able to button mash to the menu fast enough? i dunno

im pretty sure you are in a separate location, could maybe even call it a separate plain of existence, since you are completely intangible while in the menu, and in the video you can see the menu goes black for half a second when im teleported

or below

#

same thing

#

just have the location you TP back to also be changed by the TP function or wtv

i suspect the game stores your world position when you enter the main menu, and sets your location back to that position when you leave the menu, but because the menu doesn't account for your position to change when in the menu, its not designed to track changes in position

#

another solution would be to add something that physically prevents the player from being there after the final teleport, so if a player manages to find them selves there when they should be at the NG+/end run room(idk what to call it), a trigger automatically brings them back to where they should be

#

that would be my solution at least
