make it so whenever your doing multiplayer, and your partner dies, they become a ghost. they can't do anything as a ghost, but they can still move around and traverse the dungeon with the other person. that way, it removes the issue of, "if one person dies, then they have to wait in the lobby for a while waiting for the other player" or spectator mode. spectator can get pretty boring, so if your just exploring the dungeon as some ghost who can't do anything, then it might be a lil more fun (sorry if i didn't make sense) also, i have a lot of ideas for multiplayer because i was sort of planning it since the very first beta, in forms of mods. so i have a lot of ideas if you'd like to hear it

im sure thatll be added when the update comes out

#

good idea, we just cant assume before the update is out

#

maybe add a separate #1023893803364536351 for multiplayer

They should be able to control something or possess an enemy to kill the live player

Allow them to float across gaps and do one damage to enemies with their fists, allow them to deal damage while dead, kinda like how issac mp works

#

Simply spectating a ~20 minute run would get boring

Have them be invisible to the player and have thing around the dungeon that they can manipulate and move to spook the other one

It's co-op, not competetive 😭

#

If you wanna fuck with your team after you die, play phas, not a rougelike

Maybe this is into something though. Competitive dungeon crawling where one person “controls” the mobs?

Like l4d2 versus

Voice chat would be nice 🙂

just use discord

i'm assuming proximity

if the ghosts had a charge ability to shoot a projectile or something (nothing overpowered) that would also be cool

#

so being a ghost wouldn't be boring

I was thinking about that. adding a new physical object to the game invites more bugs, tweaks, and balances when if its a projectile (something already in the game), there's less room for error, but mostly balancing

fair enough

The player still alive could find some sort of magical spot, a wishing well, a grave, a statue and in exchange of a heart resuscitate the other player

I like the ghost idea, 1 damage 👊

Perhaps the player could revive if the floor they die on gets cleared?

tepid valve
#

they'd only be revived with a half a heart so you have to be careful

torpid smelt

I like that as well, sucks to suck logic

I feel like it should just be the Castle Crashers system, if one of you follows, you can perform CPR on the other to revive them, and based on how well you do, they get a certain amount of hearts back

I think that would make things a bit easy personally with infinite revives

There should be a Bottle of Life in every shop that is expensive like 30 or 50 coins the player alive can buy it and hand it to their ghost friend to drink and revive, I think the other player should just be a ghost who can only fly around and watch, alternately the other player could be revived upon entering a new floor

stable moss
#

That's a good idea too

torpid smelt
#

Maybe it's just me not finding every shop but do some floors not have them spawn?
If its rng life bottles may be risky, unless they just also revive if the floor is cleared

deep cedar
#

For real

tepid valve
#

i think the new floor is the best idea.
