You should make it so that delivery cars, garbage trucks, etc., run over these defenses placed in the middle of the street, forcing people to put them further into their own yards.

It's literally a game about defending your house and attacking your neighbor's house, so why simply place these items in a "neutral" territory?

i can see both sides i dont think the stuff in the middle or sidewalks is a problem, like jon said there is some great ways to counter that stuff (namely eggs, PA ult, etc) but at the same time i do think its funny cars dont destroy stuff in its path (if im understanding OPs post correctly and have played the game enough to know)

People would just place their traps outside slightly smarter

You can place stuff inside the enemy front fence like baseball pitchers this I agree with you, should be able to place anything on the sidewalk of the enemy base
