Interesting suggestion! Do you see this working like other games where you can't change game mode settings, you get punished for leaving, there's seasons where your rank will be reset, etc.? :)
well idk i thought more of like an rank system like in valorant,fortnite or marvel rivals maybe
Which includes everything they just replied to you with lol. Ranked games have a lot more logistics and things to iron out for that specific type of competitive player base. Not just a “rank system”
FYI I'm not saying those features are infeasible to implement - just trying to gauge what you guys would want from a ranked mode :)
A long term hook and a more competitive mode. The community is clearly interested in a bit more competitive scene as seen by feedback suggestions and already existing tournaments in FCT. Having ranked in neighbors would work well I think but it comes with downsides too. Mainly the need to manage toxicity as rankeds are always more toxic.
Punishment for leaving should be in the game by default. Not having it in FCT was a mistake.
Game settings should be unchangeable. They might be a bit different from the 'base' gamemode or have some variations. For example the ability to play either 1v1 or 4v4 ranked. These modes could share a rank or each have a separate one.
Seasons with a rank reset is the standard for a reason so yeah, defo.
Maybe Like pan or painball gun skins. For Example you reach Diamond Rank you‘ll Receive a Diamond pan as an reward
Correct, everything that u mentioned is a must have in a ranked system, also ofc it need a good balancing with the neighbors. To catch player u can add ranked reward per season like as an example, player skins at a certain rank (people love skins). For the ranked matchmaking, I would suggest to not separating rank progression for anything except 1v1 .. also make it a option to soloq into a teambased match (2v2,3v3,4v4).
How would you balance the neighbors? Do you think assigning roles to them would work so no team goes without a healer, for instance?
I talked more about the balancing of the individual neighbors, each neighbor should have his strengths and none should seem too weak. Unfortunately i wasnt at the last playtest, so ill update it as soon as the next playtest begins. About making groups, i think its a good idea to assign the neighbors to a group, whether u have a healer in the team, for example, shouldnt matter in my opinion, the players should find their own meta. If you ever thought about introducing a rolequeue, i dont think thats appropriate. Maybe u can make a recommendation as to what roles u should have in ur team.
Couldn't agree more on not pushing or forcing specific characters and playstyles. The players should be encouraged to experiment as much as they want
If you ever do do a ranked I would say no same characters in one team so we don’t end up with 4 Doreens in one team

Of course. Accidents happen and life is unpredictable. But leaving ruins other player's matches. A penalty for consistent leaving is a standard for many good reasons
