I’m trying to design a back scabbard for a sword, but I’m not sure if my idea will work – does anyone happen to have any experience with this?
I was thinking of a design where only the tip and the last quarter of the blade are housed in a classic scabbard; the rest is just leather with folded edges to protect the cutting edge, plus a long, narrow flap and a narrow strip of leather (possibly with a press stud) to hold the sword securely in place.

This is how to make a sword scabbard or sheath that you can wear on your back and draw a sword from with ease.

Because my functional back scabbard design worked so well it's high time we see if we can improve it, and make it look as awesome as it's fundamental design!
This new and improved shabbard was made by Blades and Blazers, please go check out his website if you're interested in his work: https://bladesandblazers.com/

These both offer an interesting way to do it. (Same way in both videos, just different versions)
I was going to suggest the same vid lol
