Any ideas on some kind of Baldur's gate 3 camp/tent setup that looks like this? Also, where would you find a tent that looks similar to purchase?

This is a huge tent. I googled ren fair tent. And these all fall within the "noble" style that I was seeing, prices to purchase ranged from 670-1200+ USD.
As you are looking for a larger tent that houses quite a bit of space, items, people... You are looking closer to the 1200+ side of things
The furnishings are not included.
Would this be too much for...one person?
that I guess would depend on your budget and needs.
Does it seem unreasonable? shrugs I can't make that determination for ya
For some events, it will totally be too large for one person, because there will be some amount of maximum square feet per person.
This tent usually is around 4m x 6m (~13' x ~20' in uncivilized units) here in Europe (there are larger and smaller variants) and I know people who could easily fill it themselves with their usual LARP equipment. I use something with a similar size for my family and we have a bit of room to spare.
We prefer "it makes no sense to us too and we took it from the British and never changed it and now we call them freedom" units...
Yeah I was thinking that with a 4x6m tent, it would be enough for bedding, storage and a small table and some eating stuff. I'm not sure if it would be pushing it if I did a larger tent with the canopy attached
The tent I used for the last few years is a 5m (~16') diameter round tent (roughly 15,5m² footprint). We have two smaller beds (75 cm x 190 cm) for my wife and myself and a bigger bed (90cm x 200cm) that our two boys share. A lot of the stuff that shouldn't be seen is stored under the beds, we have up to three small tables and one or two chairs in there, sometimes we put up a shelf. Usually we separate the living area from the sleeping area by hanging some sheets of cloth through the tent.
I recently bought a new tent measuring 5m x 5m. We'll have a lot more room in that one.
And we still spend most of the days at LARP events outside. The tent usually is just for sleeping, changing clothes and storing things.
I think it would depend on the larp and on your character.
If camping in-game this might be too big for the camping space allotedto you, and/or for the status of your character, (think noble vs. soldier).
If used as a shop with living space; you might be able to make that work.
You could also consider sharing, though I realize that's not easy to do with people you don't know.
Please take this input with a grain of salt as it comes from someone with no larp experience.
That could work honestly. I did see one from Amazon that is Whiteduck branded that could work for the "one person" camping situation with enough room to store LARP stuff
Ive been looking at a tent as the one I have is a one person backpacking tent. Literally fits my air up sleep pad and my duffle. Ive been looking at Amazon and compiled a few options but am unsure overall due to "can I alone pitch this tent?"
that's the one question I've wanted to answer honestly
I was thinking more like 'young lord/adventurer' if that makes any sense
I found these 3 that aren't decorum per say but I feel could easily be made to fit decorum with the right setup. Not sure i have a favorite but im still looking

Does anyone have a chair they recommend? My step dad said if I pay labor and materials he can make me or a variation that puzzles apart and together.
However I also found a small collapsible stool i can add a pillow and cover too and it would be a nice addition
I think someone built one or two of these ..
Yep here it is, you might be able to see if they know of plans?
Plans for this are all over the place. Look up "star gazer chair" or viking chair and you will find everything you need 🙂 most people make them out of 2x12 lumber (or the equivalent sizing in metric)
I will take a look. Im on a budget and want to invest in ways that will be multipurpose. Id prefer having a nice durable chair over a backless stool. So I'll be taking a lookyloo
Etsy has that style tent but they're all over $1200 usd "WITHOUT" the poles!
Also im not sure about witcher or bauldurs gate specifically but i do have a folder full of norse/slavic camp ideas if you're interested
I would be interested in this folder.
There may be a few non camp things in there but it should all be period norse slavic viking stuff
Thank you 🙂
This is stellar
Also my partner is thinking im looney for thinking about tents and stuff before finding a place we wanna go
As he is saying 99 is alot for camping 🏕
And im here like buddy.... shut your trap if you dont wanna gooo. Ill go alone idc I am ready for the fantasy fun
Where are you from? I am in the emp. We're similar to the sca and we have active groups all over the place
We are in Indiana so I've been looking at Kentucky, Colorado and places within a 5 hrs drive
GG @deep flax, you just advanced to level 8!
Thankyou so much
I book marked the village of oak grove i love Norse and viking anything
Oh it DID post! Lol my phones being slow today
Oak grove is hosting an event on easter weekend i believe. Dude owns a huge farm and usually does a big feast from his yearly harvest
That is amazing however my whatever he is cage stand pagan holiday celebrations (im Wiccan and the overlap of his dislike hits me alot) so I have to pre plan a bit more. I also have a viking fest here in Indiana in April and don't wanna have to pick between what I could do
I did follow his Facebook page
April 2nd- 6th
Yea I can't on the spot do that
Like a in theme tent, sleeping bag and traveling alone is alot to think about. I may have all the soft kit components I need however furnishings or any specialty I will not have access too
Do I have 250 dollars in lay away and 110 for fun saved away yes. But logically speaking I am a very ocd planned person due to my mood disorder
No worries there most of us have modern "look alike" camping gear lol
I have that single hiker backpack tent from Walmart the red and Grey one
It holds me my air up pad and my duffle and shoes
I have debated just buying a post and a waxed canvas and making a tent cover??
Then I found a small themed tent ⛺️ 😄 and wanna get it in the future
Ye olden amazon kit lol
Im planning to do a saxon style wedge tent with some 9x12 canvas tarps and some 2x4s
I have an old u.s. army canvas pup tent like that! But those have really jumped up in price since covid. When i bought mine they were $8 per shelter half now they're nearly $40
Ooff yea I spent around 15 on my first tent so one big enough to roll in would be nice
Do you watch living ancronysm on yt? He did a video a few years ago with a larger modern wedge tent and how to make it look medieval
Thoughts on increasing Medieval Aesthetic of your camp. There's something so rustic yet cozy about camping and we adventurers need good camps.

Thats how i set mine up lol
Ive seen it however I think it was a bit steep for what I was trying to spend
"Rugs in tents" lol
If you dont mind open air this one is decent in fair weather
....I have issues with bugs
I need to be able to keep out as many as I can
My bed needs to be bug free...
There was this one event i was at, i accidentally left my tent open, and we were all drinking and i staggered my way back to my tent and sat down on my cot, then it was about that time i noticed a huge wolf spider sitting next to me and i looked at it and said "this tent aint big enough for us both, and you gotta go" lol
Just the pre sewn canvas for that is $1500
I just enjoy the aesthetic
That is kinder then being told to air out my tent so I open it to then get lectured about my safety and I did clean out my tent and scooped the bugs I found out. Still had a few spiders end up waking me...
Yeah it was pretty docile for a wolf spider, i let it crawl on my hand and i sat it outside. Also named it fred and told it to keep 1st watch 🤣
Again copius amounts of alcohol were involved lol
Though thinking about it, it would be alot cheaper if you bought a cheap 10x10 canopy from Walmart and just make a canvas shell for it from the canvas drop cloths at harbor frieght
Al least that way its a project you can do on a budget buying it pieces at a time
I fuck with that. However im still leaning toward the one tent off Amazon
Somehow the bias and my machine and the chemise separated shredded some cut some.. now attempting the last section again..
I cannot work in 5/8 of an inch sewing clearly I still need 1/4 or more
I meant to send that to the kingdom... whoopsies me sorry
I'll take a look. I did find some on Marketplace for under 1k
I was thinking the same thing too honestly
This foulder actually helps a lot with reference pics
Hehe thats my buddy now we've been talking a bit
Aye! Again, I have a number of pics on my Pinterest page and I did find two tents on Marketplace under $100 each to start off. but....I think I can save up the cash for the LARP tents. Maybe the Avalon with the canopt from Whiteduck outdoors
Im looking at a 40 dollar tent i found that I think looks similar enough to on on living anacronysm I'll ask before purchasing. Otherwise I'll start cash stuffing for it.
Here's a quick review of the Stansport "Scout" Backpack Tent. This is a one person tent with gear. It is an A-Frame tube tent style. 6-Feet 6-Inch x 4-Feet 6-Inch x 3-Feet. Thanks for watching and please subscribe for more.
That seems kinda small
I mean I dont see why I need one for more then me. Its me Noone else is gonna be in my tent and its double the size of the tent i own now.
I can share the picture if you like to see it
Sure
I like em.
Let me get one of the ideas im leaning towards to help explain why small tent.
I just enjoyed the simple rug sleep area and small coziesspot
We were discussing getting a Pavillion off Amazon and these drop cloths from Walmart in here too
I guess the reason I like slightly bigger is that I can store a little more of my stuff in there
I wonder how much Pavilion tents go for on amazon
Around 50-75 usd.
Some more some less
I did more perusing and youtubing and I have found another tent but I can stand in it.. heck yeah
I can't stand up perfectly but I have like 2 extra feet of height then the green one
Not bad. How big is this tent that you speak of and do you have a link?
The screenshot you posted, to me at least made it look bigger than it actually is lol
I have plans to make a saxon wedge tent or (A Frame) using some 9x12 canvas tarps and 2x2's cut in half with some square tubing to make them take down poles.

Its 3.5 feet in standing height
About 12 more then the green
Sorry I was sewing in shoulder reinforcement on my chemise
Yea pictures always make it look larger
GG @deep flax, you just advanced to level 9!
Out of all the pics I sent earlier, I can't decide which one I like more
Im just excited I found a larp i can attend without camping hehe its a boffer one
huzzah! I'd love to attend a LARP
Its called amtgard. My state has a subdivision and its free to attend and pretty relaxed
The rules are very long and thorough for the boffer but I've submitted i wanna be a battle (medic) this is the class type I chose and can give personality to why im different hehe. And her name was submitted
Since you're the medic, does this mean you're not in their "active combat"?
GG @spring panther, you just advanced to level 5!
All medics are allowed to fight as medic is not to define their character but permit abilities.
Im a non magical medic
1 other is a magic user medic and non magic medic
3 others are magic medics
So think of me like duel wielding shield wielding mayhem causing medic
If anyone is looking for a place to purchase historically styled canvas tents, I can heartily recommend Spring Valley Lodges. I'm not affiliated with them, I'm just a loyal customer. They recently finished a commission making tents for the USA's 250th anniversary celebration to be held at Mt Vernon. All their tents are hand-made to order. They are a small Mom & Pop shop, not some faceless, soulless corporation getting their tents made in a sweatshop in some 3rd world country. They are not cheap, but they will last a lifetime. You can find them on Facebook, as well as their website www.springvalleylodges.com
Would something like this work? https://www.tentsmiths.com/product/regular-width-wall-tent/
Think a campsite like this would be good for Pennsic?
Wall tents are a better choice than bell tents or a frame tents
The backyardBowyer on yt has a 2 part video on a yert made of pvc pipe and canvas
GG @uneven pollen, you just advanced to level 15!
What makes you say that?
Because you can use more space
Makes more sense. I'm wondering if the Brandywine festival would allow a tent like that, hopefully one that doesn't really break the bank
the Yurt looks a little too....complex for what I'm going for
I did see something from the Creative Contessa before but..I'm not really sure how to translate this article to building a Pavilion tent
This is the article I saw: https://greydragon.org/pavilions/index.html
Actually...this is one of the videos I saw that kind of got me the inspiration: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BnGRZ0bbzsk

This is the other source I've used, but....I wonder how I can make this as more rectangular: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5M7nPYfkZzo

I’m not sure if anyone has recommended it. But I was looking at White Duck tents on Amazon. They fit the theme pretty well and won’t break the bank too much. I have also heard a lot of good things about them.
Hey, that's mine.
They are often called 'Viking Chairs'. But there is not much Viking about them to be honest. A more accurate name would be moon- or stargazer, or X-chair.
They are relatively easy to make. I made mine out of pine but I would suggest an harder alternative.
You can change height and depth at will but I do suggest you keep the ratios roughly 1:3 like in the drawing.
I'm thinking of doing the White Duck tent too, I'm just worried about the LARP not necessarily approving the tent, if that makes sense
I get it. I don’t know why they would disapprove of it if you had the classic white one
Well.....if I can accessorize it with a medieval banner or something, then I think it would be somewhat acceptable
There ya go
I'll check the website to make sure
BTW, I may have found a good source to make a Pavilion tent that looks like this: https://www.cardinal-creations.com/projects/pavilion
Ok so,its abit basic, but you can make a wedge tent out of a 9x12 canvas tarp from harbor freight and just use a 6x9 polytarp as a ground sheet. i did the math already, and to make a basic wedge tent out of a 9x12 canvas tarp with a 6x9 foot print the center poles should be 5 foot 3 inches, you technically dont even have to split/break down the poles at that point to be able to fit in a car. There is however very little head room though so its not gonna be as tall.
Just buy you two 2"x2"x6' poles and cut them down to 5'3" drill down the center of the end and add a small piece of steel bar stock to hold both the tarp grommet as well as the support guy line!
Alternatively you could carve the remaining cut off pieces of the 2x2's to add decorative pole toppers to hide the barstock as well!
