So I have this black vest and I want to change it a bit and add yellow stripes just like on the drawing.
What would be the best way? I want it to survive as long as possible.

Thought about just painting it with fabric paints. White for the base and when add yellow. But I fear it would easly come of.
Alternatively I could bleach the stripes and then dye it yellow. But i'm scared or ruining the fabric.

What are yours methods to do stuff like that?

I would use some sort of fabric paint as bleach will damage the fabric.

I have good luck with paints myself.

What type of fabric is it?

Were I to do this properly, for a permanent fix, I would cut strips yellow fabric, fold and finish the edges, and sew them on along the stripe edges. It's a fair bit of work though, but also reversible.

I do feel like there are some solid options for paint though. You'll want to ensure you match the paint to the type of fabric the product recommends and note the washing needs/restrictions. Machine washing may not be an option with any paint.

Ooo, there are also iron-on adhesives that are quite good! Maybe an option instead of/alongside sewing.

I wanted to avoid sewing as I'm not very good at it 😅
But yeah, that would be the best option
