#Where to buy fabric.

The biggest thing about joanannes going under is that you can’t buy fabric in person. I don’t know what fabrics are to search for them.
I’d love to make ( and maybe sell ) like a fabric swatch book thing. Like each page is made of a different fabric so you can touch it ,feel how it stretches , etc. and maybe it would have information printed on the page about the particular fabric
That would make the ease into online fabric buying nice.
True. It may be possible to request swatches from online sellers but I don't expect this to be possible for everything available.
I have a couple of books to reference and there's always the interwebs for further fabric information.
One of the local options to me is:

Should any of you visit the great frozen north.
It's warmer in the summer; kind of humid too (lots of lakes and rivers).
I have not visited yet but I am planning to.

I don’t know if it’s true but I heard from someone who heard from someone else the Micheal’s is taking over for Joan’s. Again I don’t know if it’s true but it would be great if it was
I read on line that they have taken over some of the craft brands and that the joanns website now goes to Michael's. I have not tried this.
That’s probably what my friend heard about
Me local micheals said they are gonna have more fabric and such in light of joann
I believe the same will be true here, but I'd be willing to bet the choices will be severely limited and much more expensive, like most things at Michael's.
So far Michaels is rolling out more novelty prints and broadcloth, both basic cotton that are better suited for sewing crafts- potholders, bandanas, and the like- but not a lot of fabric options for sewing garments. They need to up their game if they're going to fill Joann's shoes. Meanwhile, you can search your area for fabric warehouse stores, there is usually at least one in large cities, and also check for "creative reuse" stores which are essentially secondhand/thrift store solely devoted to craft materials!
