Tool maintenance is an often neglected area of making that needs more attention….

I mean leather has quite a lot of things that need sharpening (knives and cutters ) but I think you could make a whole episode on sharpening everything…
Things like
Swivel knives (I feel like there was a segment on this but you know collect everything together)
Leather knives
Punches
Awls
Chisels
Scissors
Axes
Straight razor ( might have already done this but for completion sake )
Carving chisels ( like gouges and v groove chisels)
Pocket knives
Hand saws
Probably more that I have missed ( community please fill in what I’ve missed)

I remember when I went to carpentry school they tried to teach us how to sharpen chisels and that was the only test I didn’t pass with flying colors… I know the theory I just never could get the technique down…

But I think this one might be a good one for Madi specifically because when she does a video she does that little extra bit of research on the topic that helps it stick In my brain more. You know like keeping track of what angles or grits everything should be sharpened to….

So story about that I was up in Amish country and i looked over and saw these kids using a scythe bare foot. Sooo their dad was at the edge of the feild and I asked “ aren’t you worried about that ?” And his reply was
“ if I hey end up doing it the first time they won’t do it the second time “
